I was in the market for an m3, 13+s4, rs4, even considered newer mustangs, srt8s, etc. Couldn’t be happier. I just smile as i drive pass these cars because without a doubt I made the best choice. The only “bad” thing is aftermarket parts get expensive. Other than that, 10/10

I've had a 2015 Lexus RC-F for about 2 years. I enjoyed it, but I think I'd prefer this sedan variant more, eventhough it's less hp. The "sleeper" status of this IS-F is killer! Now that their older, the prices are nicer as well. Reliable as all get out, and fun to drive daily!
Maybe Lexus will bring back the IS-F. I'm kinda between the IS-F and a second generation CTS-V. Prior to my RC-F I came from a 2008 Corvette (LS3) with a s/c, cam, full exhaust etc.. it was a monster; and I regret selling still to this day. 650 hp and daily driver friendly, broke a lot of hearts from higher end exotics, and of course Mustangs haha. The IS-F is a prime example of a gentleman's muscle car, or wolf in sheep's clothing per-se. I hope you can hold on to yours for as long as possible! All the best!

The Wagon is rare, and definitely holds value over either the Coupe or Sedan models. These cars are such a great buy on the used market. A relatively low mileage 09-10 IS-F can be had for $32-35k. It's an awesome alternative to the E92 M3 because it is way cheaper to own/maintain. That is a lot of car for the money and it's hard to beat Lexus reliability.

@@COLDoCLINCHER37 2006 purchased in 2009. Still runs, no issues, replaced the alternator, was pounding the upgraded system hard. That was it besides little fixes here and there like light bulbs, the interior is cracking a bit.

I know lexus are reliable but I have a friend that blow out his isf engine twice and no he didnt use nos just stock so the reliability is not 100% guarantee
Ok,so i remember when these two came out first. It was a hype. Magazines,car journalists,pilots,drivers,and so on were competing to inform us how one competes to the other. Which is fair. What was not fair,is they were all taking these cars on the track. Yes,they are F and M,and yes,they could be taken to the track,and also yes,they are top of the line sport cars where dynamics matter a lot. However,very few people will take them to the track in real life. The ISF back then was bashed by all the army of journalists by being second slower than the M3 or not handling as good. I have driven both. Now,both cars have their issues,but bashing the Lexus F for just being Lexus and prizing the M by default by being M is just bullshit. Straight to the F cons. No manual and electric steering. The autobox of the F is very fast,reliable and comfortable,city,highway overtakes and basically in any situation wont let you down. But its not driver engaging. For a GT cruiser it would be good,but not an M competitor,not for an F car. Then is the steering..,i found it very accurate and easy to get used to,but at some tight corners you feel the lack of feedback with the front wheels. But i have to say,i am picking peas here,cause you really need to chase it hard to notice these flaws. In daily use,its spot on. The fit and finish in the F is just mind blowing next to M. Not comparison what so ever. The sound is just intoxicating. Now is the M..,well,as good as it was,on the second day the car went on a limp mode,with engine light on. Happen to be throttle actuator. At 76 000km. Got it fixed. Back on the road. Same day,out of the service,oil light came on. Back in. Was glitch. Fixed,back on the road. Wife called,pregnant,had to go for check up. On the way to hospital,car lost power. No warning lights what so ever. I felt like an idiot. Dropped the wife,back to BMW service. Camshaft position sensor. And they didnt had it. Had to be ordered from Sweden. Got replacement car for a week. So much with the BMW M and so much for the M. They might be fun cars to drive. Once. When they were simple. Straight 6,manual,NA engine,50/50 weight distribution. Its just you,gearbox,straight 6 and the rear tires. Not anymore. Now they are fun for the car reviewers and journalists who take them from the dealership at 10/15 000 km,for a day or even few hours to tell us how fast and fun to drive these cars are. Well,get one in 50 000+ km and live with it,and then we talk. I gave it back just to get back on Lexus. This time GS. Never looked back.

I need advice. I'm a Lexus guy, and love v6's with a passion. Haven't been in an ISF, but I know that I would only want this generation. I love driving hard. Should I get an is with the v6 or the v8? Not a v8 guy but the way this car moves and the sound it makes, I'm afraid I'll fall in love

TheStraightPipes yeah me and my brother do drag race in Englishtown raceway in New Jersey and we race on the way there from 40 mph roll I always full half a car and in the drag strip 1/4ml mile I always beat him as well..

I know lexus are reliable but I have a friend that blow out his isf engine twice and no he didnt use nos just stock so the reliability is not 100% guarantee

Ok,so i remember when these two came out first. It was a hype. Magazines,car journalists,pilots,drivers,and so on were competing to inform us how one competes to the other. Which is fair. What was not fair,is they were all taking these cars on the track. Yes,they are F and M,and yes,they could be taken to the track,and also yes,they are top of the line sport cars where dynamics matter a lot. However,very few people will take them to the track in real life. The ISF back then was bashed by all the army of journalists by being second slower than the M3 or not handling as good. I have driven both. Now,both cars have their issues,but bashing the Lexus F for just being Lexus and prizing the M by default by being M is just bullshit. Straight to the F cons. No manual and electric steering. The autobox of the F is very fast,reliable and comfortable,city,highway overtakes and basically in any situation wont let you down. But its not driver engaging. For a GT cruiser it would be good,but not an M competitor,not for an F car. Then is the steering..,i found it very accurate and easy to get used to,but at some tight corners you feel the lack of feedback with the front wheels. But i have to say,i am picking peas here,cause you really need to chase it hard to notice these flaws. In daily use,its spot on. The fit and finish in the F is just mind blowing next to M. Not comparison what so ever. The sound is just intoxicating. Now is the M..,well,as good as it was,on the second day the car went on a limp mode,with engine light on. Happen to be throttle actuator. At 76 000km. Got it fixed. Back on the road. Same day,out of the service,oil light came on. Back in. Was glitch. Fixed,back on the road. Wife called,pregnant,had to go for check up. On the way to hospital,car lost power. No warning lights what so ever. I felt like an idiot. Dropped the wife,back to BMW service. Camshaft position sensor. And they didnt had it. Had to be ordered from Sweden. Got replacement car for a week. So much with the BMW M and so much for the M. They might be fun cars to drive. Once. When they were simple. Straight 6,manual,NA engine,50/50 weight distribution. Its just you,gearbox,straight 6 and the rear tires. Not anymore. Now they are fun for the car reviewers and journalists who take them from the dealership at 10/15 000 km,for a day or even few hours to tell us how fast and fun to drive these cars are. Well,get one in 50 000+ km and live with it,and then we talk. I gave it back just to get back on Lexus. This time GS. Never looked back.
S.T T. They actually made them better after 2008 real diff and other upgrades that actually made it just as good as m3 and faster.
