Wow. You guys with headers have it so much easier than us guys with the stock exhaust manifolds when it comes to changing the plugs and the wires.I see so much more room in there to work with. Thanks for making the video. 👍🙏
A few different NGK plugs are available for C5, TR6, TR51, TR55. GM changed the gap recommendation to .040 in 2003, saying it provided a smoother idle. The stock gap from the factory is .060 on both engines before 03.
I just change my plugs and wires yesterday. It was a nightmare for me doing it the first time on a C-5 I mistakenly ordered the NGKTR5 instead of the TR 55, but I was told by my Corvette guy that they will work fine, but trying to get the factory boots off of the spark plug was ridiculous, but I got through it without much damage to my hands. 😁
The passenger side was super easy to change out the plugs, the drivers side was a complete pain in the butt for me cause I have a different setup than you have. I have a few pipes and a alternator bracket in the way and it was a bi*ch.

You got it thanks for watching! I thin my next video I’ll spruce up the front mesh screens and paint them all black, what you think?!

1:36 this melted my heart.
Thanks man! Videos have slowed with me changing stores for KIA, but I want to ramp it back up this summer and get more out!

Does the new gap recommendation apply to all years before 2003?

Insane how much they get “glued on” almost, which as you saw from my video why I damaged one🤣
Thank God you vacuumed that intake, was beginning to wonder 😂
Hahah I know right!
Can you tell us who did your cam install ?
I did with help from group of buddies! Hand tools and no lift, and printed out and used the HOW TO from LS1tech.com

I have come to realize working on a vette everything is cramped, you drop tools, and curse a lot!
Do you use anti seize on the spark plugs to protect the threads on the aluminum heads? Or is it not necessary?
I have not and never have but that is my experience
