Just want to thank whoever posted this race. My dad was in this race. I have the John Deere jacket that reads “1975 Winnipeg to St. Paul Race” . So I thought I might research it and I found this. So cool. I forwarded him the link just now . Thanks again.
At the beginning I was afraid the VCR tape was going to spill out of my phone. The good ol days. Lol Edit: thanks for the upload. These are fun to watch.
This movie, like the others filmed during the 1975 race never mention that many of us were victims of a prankster who moved the pennant in a wooded area "Y", causing us to go miles out of our way. We were disqualified for being late into Alexandria or there would have been a lot more than 37 starting the race on the last day.

My dad was one of the 22 finishers. He got 7th place on Scorpion Whip!
Brings back so many great memories. Thanks for sharing!! My dad won this race!!
Who was he? Just interested!
I remember riding some of those old dogs back in the day. Amazing the amount of thrashing a body could take back then on 2 - 3” of suspension travel.
I remember listening to the race on the radio. Though old drivers in them days.

Smiled the whole time I watched that. That race looked brutal, trail and weather.
Bogies and 2 inches of leaf spring up front! Smashing through culverts at 70! Damn they had good backs!!
The spirit of the seventies folks !
My father was in this race as well! 👍🏻
84 mph on leaf springs! Back in the day when men were men!
Amazing the beating that both men and machines took. My back hurts just watching this.
Men were Men and they used the Men's room!
The Polaris Indy Front Suspension was a game changer.. 1981 or so ..

Do they still do this race?
Yes they do
Kind of a bummer for John Deere, paid all kinds of money to make this documentary and Polaris wins
