Use to go to Weedsport Speedway in central NY in the snowmobile heydays of the early 70's. They had amateur races there every Sunday and occasionally the Sno Pro series would have an event. During one of the Pro races the 440 mod class were just entering the track for their race and the factory Rupp machine made an unforgettable entrance on the track when both skis came off...one headed east and one headed west...talk about hilarious. The best thing was one of my buddies from school was a mega Rupp fan his dad had a small Rupp dealership so i got to give him the crap of his life. Ahh the good old days. I could not care less about modern day snowmobiles. Rather own a bulldozer I guess.
Man I missed out on the glory days of snowmobiles.... What an awesome video!
I feel the same as you man. Shows how much fun 16 hp can be. Thankfully we can still enjoy the remaining sleds.
That's what we do, when we have snow. You have to quit hanging out drinking beer at ERX and get out and ride.
The 1971 Polaris tx racer with the number 176 on it is Jeff Larkin from Anoka Minnesota, a good friend of mine, he is still riding at 72 years young.
Best time for snowmobiling! 1970s were great, lots of snow, not like todays weather.
