17:35 the coconut you got, the coconut water on that one is actually not for drink (i mean you can drink it, but we don't usually drink the water from the brown one as it is more mature), and the coconut shred you got, it is actually used for cooking more often than eaten straight.
the coconut that can be drink and where you can also eat the coconut flesh is the color green one.
we call the coconut brown one 'niyog' and the green coconut one is 'buko'. so if you want to get a real taste of the coconut fruit, buy the buko one!

The mature coconut is brown and used for cooking while the young coconut is buko eating it straight and drinking. The green fruit with spikes is soursop in english and called guyabano in filipino language.Santol should not be peeled thinly and the seed should be eaten just like the rambutan.

The coconut you are looking for are the young coconuts with green skin when untrimmed and with light shell when trimmed..this young coco have soft flesh and sweet coco water inside..refreshing when harvested not more than a week and its trimmed shell did not exposed to direct sunlight for long.

the grinded coconut, if you squeeze it with hot water, it becomes coconut milk, or you could but it in a blender with water and then strain it. if you cook it until it becomes brown, it becomes sugared coconut that goes well with any rice cakes, you could even eat it with tteok if you want (i tried it before, my auntie made it). when you cook it until it becomes brown, there will be some oil from the coconut, which you can use for cooking OR you can use it to oil your hair if it is dry.
if you want fresh coconut juice with softer meat, you should look for green coconuts.

30:00 that coconut is different to the one you get to drink (the green one). By different I mean age. Young coconut is the green, mature coconut is the brown (niyog). Common use of that scrape coconut is to make a coconut milk that you can use in different dishes. We don't really eat the scraped coconut "niyog" as it is.

@@yozzzuum that coconut water is also okay it is drinkable too. Just difference in freshness. But if the niyog already have sprout inside the water will taste bland.
If you have chance it also good to experience eating that niyog sprout, it's spongy and slightly sweet. Only niyog that's old enough will have that inside the coconut.

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ i enjoyed watching this haha, especially the coconut part, i literally said "ANDWAEEEEEE!!~ don't buy that dear 😭" that coconut is for coconut milk 😅😅 the one you can drink the water and eat the flesh is the green one called 'BUKO' (here 18:27), the sour one called Santol, you can eat the flesh from the seed part, the sour flesh is best for cooking like Sinigang but you can also eat it with just salt or cooked Bagoong Alamang (shrimp paste)...
