Mashing Tatties on Potato Alley - Win Hill Peak District MTB POV GoPro Hero8

- I've spent countless hours over the years at Ladybower on the bikes, but I've never ventured up to Win Hill with one. So that had to be remedied. A great ride with my brother-in-law, Sean. He introduced me to some decents I didn't know existed - Potato Alley being the big one. You can figure out pretty quickly when riding it why it's called that!
I thought we should take the shortest route up Win Hill, a footpath, but fear not it's so crazy we had to push / carry the bikes anyway - for a giggle check out the Strava link below and look at the elevation on the first climb, it was like going up a ladder.
Potato Alley - a rock garden, but the rocks are potato shaped and loose... you may as well be riding on potatoes haha. The final decent, Lockerbrook, always put's a smile on my face.
Lot's of stopping mid descent to clean the lens too, the Mucky Nuts fenders were doing a brilliant job though.

Great vid. Gores/Lockerbrook arguably the most fun descent in the peak for me 👌🏻
Rode these trails and other ones yesterday. Absolutely loved them.
That's great :) so many options in the Peaks, it's a massive playground :D Thanks for watching
Ah, my backyard! Parkin Clough that first section.... Craziest DH in the Peak (though Cavedale is the craziest legit one I reckon). Potato alley always divides opinion. I love it but many prefer to go down the Beast instead which is more technical but I love a bit of speed me. 😎
Yeah, I live a good DH, but Parkin is not one for me on a wet day haha.
@@GreensTrails or for me on any day 🤣
Fair 😅
Love the vid mate great spots and great riding what phone holder are you using there buddy
Thanks matey. It’s a Quadlock, highly recommend!!!
@@GreensTrails cheers buddy much appreciated
Haha not the only one to have fallen for the hike a bike to the top of win hill. I was told 30mins later by friends I was meeting at the top that there was an easy way up
Hahaha. It’s the quickest route up... but definitely not the easiest 😂😂 Riding down it would be a blast though 😅
Made me think when I was looking at your crossbar, must be over 30 years ago when I first did that on one of the first orange bikes then known as the tushingham B52.
I do apologise I thought it said orange 5
Ha, ah yeah, it says Stage 6. Please tell me you still have that bike! I can never bring myself to get rid of old bikes. This is the first Orange I’ve had, I’d wanted one since the 90s.
@@GreensTrails unfortunately I sold it to an in law who lives up Scotland then he sold it to upgrade. Wish I’d of kept it.
Ah looks like you missed the cheeky right turn as you come down Win Hill down to the forest. Great riding though! Love it round there
I think we took it, but then pulled the pin, headed back up to ride Potato Alley instead. Or do you mean the right that takes you down Shit Bastard?
Greens Trails yeah think it’s called WH Section 1. Love that trail
I shall check it out, thanks dude 👌🏻
Can never find the trails, going this Sunday phone in hand to find them. Good video
Ah cool. If you have strava check out the segments and b explore, loads about there.
Try Komoot.... And follow me 😎
@@MTB_Derbyshire what is your Komoot name please? Can’t find MTB Derbyshire, I love riding around that area, thanks
