MTB Cave Dale, MTB The Beast, MTB Potato Alley all great mtb trails here in the Lake District and this ride encompasses them all. The Peak District and MTB Cave Dale has some fantastic single track and plenty of gnarly trails. If you have the legs for it this ride is a belter, at this time of year it is very muddy and slippy so take care. Cave Dale is a really beautiful location for a hike or mtb ride.
Our next mtb and emtb ride ion the Peaks will be a brilliant ride called the Mam Tor Kicker.
MTB Cave Dale is a dry limestone valley in the Derbyshire Peak District, England. It is located at grid reference SK149824. The northern end of the dale starts at the village of Castleton where the valley sides are almost perpendicular and over 50 metres in height.

Tell me you have SRAM brakes without telling me you have SRAM brakes 🤣👍. Been down cave dale once in similar conditions on my hardtail, Very gnarly place and very easy to be caught out.

Yes but the mud and mess going home would be terrible.

I do love the solitude of Solo riding, but riding in groups does being some social joy, especially for those of us who are alone.
Awesome video Andy.. really shows how bad the terrain and weather was.. I really enjoyed the ride just a shame I messed up on the clothing and had to give up 3/4 way round due to being soaked to the skin and freezing.. lesson learnt.. new gear ordered see you on the next one..
Ya rode Cave Dale Paul so all good, one tick off, its not something i want ride often, as chances of rims dents, bent derailleurs and spilt tires is prevalent. But enjoyable anyway, See ya Sunday for the Mam Tor Kicker riide.
Hi mate great video. Be great to get a video about the gear you have on. All the waterproof stuff I mean. Good to have lincs to it could be a good way for you to get discounts for yourself or commission.

Hello, great video, that looked as wet as I thought it would be, well done to all that turned up. That's a great route, hitting those top spots in 1 ride, how can anyone be unhappy with that. Hopefully the weather will be better next time. Ta.
There is a fine line, a few riders mentioned to me after they prefer more flowy trails and single tracks, but happy to tick off cave dale, its such a beautiful location with the Castle tower at the bottom, pity you don't get much chance to see it on a bike. While others loved the techy gnarl bike breaking stuff.

Im changing the pads this weekend. Think I got gt85 on them when cleaning. Its awful, it does keep walkers aware though lol
Another great video. I find my pads screech like that when I’ve had it on the bike carrier behind the car, I think it’s all the grease and shite off the road.
Ah interesting, i do use a bike cover some times, but not had it on for a while.. something fo rme to think about cheers.
Hi mate, did this ride today....Was great so thanks for sharing the route. Though struggled with battery and went flat before the finish after riding the whole loop in Eco. How much battery did you guys use.... Just wondering if I have a problem....?
If i remember correctly I still had a fair bit left, what is your battery size? I guess it comes down to how fit your are, and how much assistance in the hills, The peaks is notorious for its hills..

I used mainly eco. Some tour. 630wh battery, and came back with a quarter full of battery. People made it round with 500wh batteries. You probably could've experienced excessive battery fatigue due to the cold. The cold can zap your battery by 25%+
