I just noticed that your reaction library was missing Pink Floyd's Time. Pink Floyd is a long time favorite band of mine. I was lucky enough to see Roger Waters do the Wall live twice, and absolutely loved it both times. I'm finding that I can't really put my feelings of this song into words, so I'm not going to try. I listened to this album as a young teenager when it was first released back in the day, and I'm 63 years old now. It's as powerful and relevant now as the day it was released 50 years ago.

I have been listening "Time" since 1973. It hits harder and harder as you get older. I'm 76 so it hits real hard.
I not only think this is my favorite Pink Floyd song, I think it’s my favorite rock song of all time. For so many reasons.

The first time I really listened to the words of this song, I was crying by the end of it.
I actually had the great privilege of attending their concert in 1994 when they came to Birmingham, AL. It was absolutely mind blowing. An experience I’ll never forget and I’m so grateful to have been a part of it.

Hey guys!!! I'm from Argentina. I remember when the Pink Floyd's album "The Wall" came to Argentina in 1980, I think, I was 15 years old. At that time I didn't understand a Word, but every time I heard it, every song gave me different feelings. I felt angry, sad, exited, etc. So, because this album, I told my parents that I needed to learn English. Because I needed to understand the meaning of those amazing songs. It's my go to music on a long haul flight. I just listened to the entire album on a flight from Dubai to Singapore. Fabulous. I forgot I was squashed into a cattle class seat...it just took me to another place

Song's meaning is the true because as we get older as time goes by; the days get shorter. I am 59 and this year flew until next year, I will be 60. My suggestion is to live life to the fullest.
Pink Floyd puts you in the mood they want you in for each song. That is why the intros are nice and long. The words to this song as you get older they become truer every day
3:16 Allan Parsosns ( of the Allan Parsons Project) was the producer/engineer of this album, he went in to a clockshop and had all clocks in the store go off at the same time and recorded it there on the spot, to make te start of the song. He was a protege of George Martin (legendary Beatles producer) and was still working in The Abbey Road Studio's when Pink Floyd came to record Dark Side of the Moon

Actually 8 musicians and three backing singers to deliver the whole show, Dick Parry is the 8th musician, he's not on stage throughout just for the relevant saxophone parts.

The live version from the tour PULSE 1994 is sublime, they feature many songs but also perform Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety, highly recommend =)
The line that stands out to me and I am sure many others is, "Shorter of breath, one day closer to death."
Amazing how people never think about breathing until you can't.
Ironically it is the most timeless song I can think of. It was relevant generations ago and it will be relevant in generations to come.

I am 63 now. I was 13 years old when this album was released. It was the very first album I ever bought. At the time, it was the song "Money" the reason for getting the LP. But as I listened to the whole album, I was mesmerized by all this new style of music (it was new to me at the time). I was listening to all the top 40 pop songs back then mostly and what is now known as Classic Rock was beginning to become a staple on the radio. I never really read into the lyrics back then being 13 and all, now though, I understand. It is amazing to me that this music is relevant today as it was back then. It definitely falls into the category of timeless. Like many my age say when we see these reactions by a new generation to the music our youth, I am truly elated that you are experiencing what we did back then with these tunes. There is an old Chinese saying that goes: I hear and I forget, I see and I remember, I do and I understand Obviously they didn't listen Pink Floyd. I heard and felt the music....I understood.
I too am thrilled that a younger generation "gets" this great music.

best way to enjoy pink floyd is to get a full album make sure you got a couple of hours spare put it on and just drift away..... some of the best music ever produced.
I can't believe you have not heard this as yet, it is on a lot on various Radio and streaming channels and for good reason, top 5 song in Floyd's amazing catalog! If you have not, you need to hear Echoes, both the Studio, audio original and see the live performance of it at Pompeii 1972 in the ancient Roman amphitheatre, an amazing setting and take. I may have already mentioned this, but my first ex-wife was a bit younger than me, so I introduced her to Pink Floyd. The first time she heard this she freaked out a little because she had a "thing" about loud bells. But she fell in love the PK almost as much as I do.
I'm 70 yrs. old, yes this song begins to have more meaning as the years roll by. The rot-toms at the start are insane, Marantz amp, Marantz CD player and a pair of EV interface 3's with 12" bass radiator cones, can it sound any better, maybe if I had Vinyl instead of CD ? " and then when day you find, ten years have got behind you, no one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun " Well it's been 50 years for me, far out how did that happen. Love the Floyd. I'm now going to see if you did " Welcome To The Machine " their best song along with "Time" imo.
A fabulous band and what the lyrics to this are thought provoking as are all Pink Floyd songs. My favourite album is Dark Side Of The Moon as well. 1973 was kick in 1973! 👍👍🤟🤟

A song called Time with an intro that makes you wait patiently.
I'm ready dating myself here, but I remember that it only took four people to perform this live. Plus whoever was running the soundboard and mixers. Early days like 1974 when concerts started moving into arenas. Still one of the shows that I can vividly remember after all this time.
I once found my Vietnam vet uncle crying listening to this song I asked him why and he said you'll find out after you've lived, he was not wrong

I saw them at the Oakland Arena for the Animals tour back in the day. Besides Nick, Roger ,Rick & David I remember a second guitarist standing back and another keyboardist helping out They did the whole Animals & Wishing you were Here albums then songs from Dark Side and others. Very cool stuff

In the original studio version it was just the four (David Gilmour, Richard Wright, Nick Mason, and Roger Waters), with backup vocalists the only other performers...lots of double tracking and overdubs. When they do this on the Pulse version, there are 10 people involved - 2nd drummer (Gary Wallis), keyboard )Jon Carin), and guitar (Tim Renwick), and three singers (Sam Brown, Durga McBroom, and Claudia Fontaine RIP). Bassist Guy Pratt replaced Roger waters in 1989. All this was done to better produce the studio sound without recordings (except for the intro clocks).

The observation that Floyd creates the long intros in order to put you in THEIR mood is very insightful and one that I have thought of, but reactors miss that. You didn't and it was the first time I have heard someone observe that. Fantastic analysis and great feel for their objective!

Saw Floyd do the Dark Side tour, at Earls Court, London (my home) in the mid 70’s. I was in my early teens. Being a Londoner I’ve been to many concerts at all the landmark venues, but this one is the most memorable. They are just perfection. We have so much talent in our tiny country 🏴🇬🇧

The answer to the question about does it take alot to get the Floyd sounds is no, there are only 4 members of this band and they create everything you hear .
at Pulse they're what, 2 drummers, 2 keyboardists, 2 guitarists, 1 bassist and 3 backing vocalists or close to that. ten people to make their sound this rich seems about right to me.

So to let yourself be carried away in the atmosphere of Pink Floyd, what could be better than their song (Shine on you Crazy Diamond, parts 1-5).
There are only four of them, but I imagine there is plenty of studio work to complete the full sound.

On this album it was 4 guys and producer Alan Parsons back in, 1973.
Actually just the band itself. Sometimes it appears as though they will add a rhythym guitarist or another keyboard but really they have performed it with just the band most of the time.

"Time" and "Money" are 2 of the top 10 requested on radio'. Album has been on the charts over 14 yrs. went off for 1 wk. then back on for over 900 wks. Name one band that even comes close???????????
So grateful I was around to experience for first time both Weed and the entire "Dark Side of The Moon" on analog cassette; in friend's parents 1968 Delta 88 Oldsmobile's new Pioneer Player with Craig's Quadraphonic Stereo Sound System Speakers. Ah 70s summer with *Pink Floyd* and *Black Sabbath - Sabotage* (Symptom of the Universe)
Ideally this song should be heard as a part of the whole album. And the way it was intended to be heard was as an analog quadraphonic mix (analog so your ears get the full, rich sound and the won't start hurting if you turn the volume up to even moderate levels).
You'll notice that there are lots of spots on the record where you hear odd voices and footsteps wandering across the speakers. These were meant to appear as being behind the listener, who they figured would most likely be a stoner, and thus probably a bit paranoid - freak out!
Now, for a really weird, but wonderful experience of this album, search for Dub Side of the Moon. Trust me, you won't regret it lol.
