I celebrate America Day on July 4th in the United States of America. It's a time during the summer for beautiful rainbow fireworks. Only adults can use fireworks. They're dangerous for kids to use.
One of the best jokes about Canada I ever heard: - Near midnight on the Sixth Day, God was finishing up making people. The Archangel Micheal asked “What are you still working on?” God replied “I am making Canadians”. Micheal then commented “They seem like the most peaceful, polite, and kind people you will be putting on Earth”. Then God said with a smirk on his face “Think so? Watch this!” And God dropped a hockey puck in the middle of the Canadians…..
Hallo Jen, First a happy Canada day! In Germany we celebrate the Tag der deutschen Einheit (Day of german Unity). It remember us to the reunion of eastern and western Germany after the Cold War in 1990. There are some festivals, special documentations on tv and so on.

Hi, Jen! I always enjoy watching your videos. Do you remember me? The British North America Act created Canada on July 1, 1867 while Tokugawa Yoshinobu, in Japan, tendered his resignation to the Emperor and returned governing power to him in November 9, 1867 (大政奉還). The political revolution called Meiji Restoration (明治維新)in 1868 brought about the final demise of the Tokugawa shogunate, ended the Edo period (1603-1867). I was astonished to find that such big historic events occurred simultaneously across the Pacific in 1867!! Thanks to your video, I learned a lot!!

Hi Sabrina ✨. Thank you for your comment. You are correct, Canada Day was really different this year, not just because of the ongoing pandemic, but also because of the large amount of bodies recently discovered in unmarked graves found at residential schools 😔. I realize that for many this year was a time of reflection, but as the world has been in such a gloomy state for the last year and a half, I still made an effort to celebrate Canada Day a little. We need something to lift our spirits sometimes... Although what has happened with First Nations is absolutely terrible, it happened a long time ago in our past and isn't connected to what makes me still proud to be Canadian today. 🇨🇦 In addition, annually September 30th is Orange Shirt Day, a Canadian memorial day for all the First Nations children whose lives were negatively impacted by residential schools. I will be sure to reflect much deeper on the issue on that day and encourage others to do the same 💐.
