    One year ? Ok so then he really is making them himself that alone is worth the wait and as a fellow leather crafter he is my absolute favorite you tube leather tutors and almost always answer my questions straight from the comment section as pedestrian as that is so I got nothing but love for him and even though I can make my version of anything he makes I will still throw down for his works because I dig his works . American classic !!

    $150usd? Being a leatherworker myself and knowing exactly what the materials cost and the time it takes to make something like this plus the packaging cost and time and what i call "business time" that all goes into an item like this i think that price is spot on. I couldnt sell a basic wallet like this for half that price as i dont have the 1000s of hours of marketing and brand building into it.

    That is a hefty price for a Dublin wallet. It is not the priciest leather. Based on similar wallet sizes/styles, $85 seems more reasonable. Also, having to wait a year for that wallet is too long IMO. Good review as always.

      I would say with Mascon you pay for more than just the sum of the materials. These are fully handmade and take hours per wallet. The stitching alone can take over an hour.

    I liked your review, I think that your off by a few stars on price. I think it should be a 4 out of 5 you have to consider that it’s completely hand made, hand cut, hand stitched, hand burnished. I’ve made my own wallet and it takes the better part of a day so asking 150 dollars per unit isn’t really to much to ask, also you get a lifetime warranty on craftsmanship. Just the hand stitching alone on this wallet would take a person 2.5 hours. But altogether nice review

    The Rooney, much like most of Arties work, are chunksters designed for longevity. At a $150 price point, you're getting $250 simply because you won't be off buying other wallets every five years. His wallets are always quality leather, quality edge finished, quality hand stitched, with quality designs. To be honest, it boggles my mind he charges so little. People have no idea how long it takes to learn leather skills worth getting paid for. I would easily charge $250 on this wallet without regret. The reason he took a year to craft this item seems fishy however. Did Artie get back-logged with a commercial production deal? That's about the only reason that would make sense to me. *Shrugs

    • @walletopia
      @walletopia  ปีที่แล้ว

      About 6 months after he delivered mine, he put a process in place to reduce the turn around time. I suspect he was very backlogged and instead of killing himself, took at his own pace (which I understand). His work is super quality. I find his YT videos even better. I had a great email conversation with him about how skilled he is in making them.
