I love this song. John is a wonderful writer. I've never heard one of his songs that didn't touch me. I heard in an interview, Freddie said he loved to sing John's songs. There is another video with pictures from the movie and it really fitted the movie, just like all the songs they wrote for it. Who Wants to Live Forever, is so beautiful, and has nothing to do with Freddie's fate. If you listen to the lyrics, and know the movie it's a perfect match.

Really pleased when this song hits my senses as I'm reading or driving . . Freddie and the strings grab me.

Freddie sang this in one take, John was a great writer, he wrote some banger's including Another One Bites the Dust which was Queens biggest hit, but this one is my favorite, it's enough to bring tears to the eyes.

Deaky was their secret weapon. A crime they were never able to play this live.
Interesting perspective from Deaky, especially considering the context of the scene in the movie.
Love it, dad is a romantic. ❤️

I've always loved this song! Dad, you're so right about this beautiful song having different meanings regarding phases of love. It's as wonderful to hear it now with my husband of 40 years, as it was when we were slow-dancing around the house with our 2 year old listening to it. This song always makes me smile and emotionally melt.

This song has a lot of emotion for me, I had this playing in the background at my wedding whilst signing the register back in 1999, wonderful song. The Saxaphone part is played by the same guy that plays the Sax in George Michaels Careless whisper.

Without a traditional guitar solo, this part is filled with Lynton Naiff's string arrangement and Steve Gregory's saxophone. Another suggestion: Queen "You and I" (John Deacon). th-cam.com/video/ir05RhMqpPI/w-d-xo.html

John Deacon writes some beautiful sentimental and romantic songs. Dad was really into the moment a few times there.

Johns been married over 40 years now and has about 6 kids I think. It's kind of unheard of now. To me its like he's knows how lucky he is and people never really find love and you're lucky if you ever find it........ If only for a year

If I could swing the patreon thing at this moment, I'd do it in an instant. Sorry I can't. Because your reactions are really unique. Not just because of the father/son thing (I really haven't seen anything like it), but also because of how you relate to the songs on a really personal level. Deacon may have written the song solely with a movie scene in mind, but once a song is out there, we each find our own meaning in it. This is one of my favorite songs and I enjoyed your reaction!

Don’t worry about becoming a patreon member if you can’t! No worries! We’re just glad you’ve decided to stay with us, while we learn as well!

If you have not already, I suggest you watch Highlander movie. I've only seen it about 20/30 times.

I love when dad gets emotional! Senior Prom ha! After, what, 34 years (!!!???) I STILL have never seen Highlander and I’m a huge 👑 fan. Gotta Netflix it soon. Back then just didn’t seem like a movie I would like but of course I’ve known the music for ages.
    Hey Brennan I don’t like ☕️ either!!🤣
