    Nice sounds. I dig it. :)

    Let me get this straight, the syncing the devices I understand but you are then running control voltage to the cutoff... then the gate output to trigger...?!
    That sounds very counterintuitive.
    I have to try it. Hope you don't mind if I borrow that patch configuration?
    I have the sub and the SQ1 and an Electro-Harmonix ocean's 12 that might allow me to play with the possibilities of your configuration here. Although the Strymon Big Sky is probably a much tastier ambient reverb. I just want to try that patch.
    Very cool patch idea. Cooler jam.
    God bless

    So, does the SQ1 overide just one or both of the sequencers? Nice toes by the way!

    Really nice sound! Do you recommend the korg sq-1?

      Yes - it's super useful in so many ways - I wish I had a few of them. for the price you can't really go wrong

      but it doesn't accept midi-clock, something they seem to be at pains to conceal from potential buyers. save up for something like the doepfer dark-time instead- it's much better, more flexible.... I have more hardware sequencers than you could chuck sticks at, & the SQ-1 is really rather a toy, a bad place to start if you have plans to grow a hardware set-up around the sequencing.

      @@duncan-rmi true yes it has to be the master clock which kinda sucks - good comment

      Not used my SQ-1 in ages - years even - but can you not clock it over USB

    • @duncan-rmi
      @duncan-rmi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tomtebby7408 you can, but I don't want it- or anything else, for that matter- tethered to a laptop on stage.

    Hi there, I was just wondering why not just use the SubH’s sequencer? If you’re using them also, how does that work - what audio is being run through the sq-1 ? Than you for your time.🙏🏼

    • @johnnymorgansynthdreams
      @johnnymorgansynthdreams  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was using the SQ1 to modulate other parameters - I'll have remember which, but they can work really well together.

    I just got the SUBH, can I use an external sequencer to allow me to just use the SUBH as the sound source, so I can get more than a 4 step sequence? That seems to be what you are doing, but im quite new to this world of bleeps and bloops, cheers

    • @johnnymorgansynthdreams
      @johnnymorgansynthdreams  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes of course absolutely you can. The Sub Harmonicon sounds great just as a two oscillator mono-synth. Has a sort of Moog Mother 32 sound for the most part.

      @@johnnymorgansynthdreams can you explain the connections needed? I want to use my BSP track 1 for sequence 1/vco1 track 2 for sequnce 2 / vco 2. thanks!

    • @johnnymorgansynthdreams
      @johnnymorgansynthdreams  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tomfoolery4077 for sure - use the CV out of the BSP Track and patch it to VCO 1 or VCO 2 on the SubH. Then Patch the Gate Out of the BSP Track to the Trig on the SubH. I was actually running the SubH clock and Sq-1 Clock in sync with each other and using the SQ-1 to modualte the SubH Cutoff, which is a different method, but you can try lots of different things, no really way to mess it up!

    Hi, great jam! I see that SubH is connected via Sync-Out to Play. How does it work? Is there an advantage over midi sync?

    • @johnnymorgansynthdreams
      @johnnymorgansynthdreams  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey juginst - I'm just using that to start the Subharmonicon properly when I press play on the SQ-1 - The Gate to trigger in is doing the syncing. So definitely Midi sync probably would work similarly o having these connected, maybe not as tight though.

    Hey m8 this sound really good. Do you use the Sq 1 for pitch quantization? The pitch on your sub seems more stable.. If yes, would you mind to explain how you did this?
