Taking confidence vote for Sprint Goal is a great idea! Reminds of similar feature in SAFe PI Planning. As SM, I use Niko Niko calendar or mood board on daily basis to get insights on the confidence evolution. Thank you Maria for precise suggestions on coaching and probing questions :)
You're welcome, Prasanna! Yes it is actually an idea from SAFe that can be helpful in many situations. Thanks for sharing your ideas, I really like the Niko Niko calendar :)
Love it, Barry is proposing recently 6 stances, removing manager which can be badly interpreted, and secondly saying that servant leader is not a stance to switch to as with other stances. I like his new proposal, as firstly I feel a scrum master should not be seen as a replacement to management.
I love your content Maria, always helpful! I have 3 questions:
1. If you have a 2 week Sprint, starting on Thursday for instance, what if the last day (Thursday) is Bank Holiday and the team decided not to start Sprints on Fridays/Mondays? Do you start in the next week on Tuesday? How do you remove this impediment? 2. Do you schedule all the meetings for your teams? I see that many Scrum Masters do it, but I think that it is something you can do at the beginning to help the team learn how to be self-managed. What do you think? 3. During the meetings, are you the one managing Jira tasks, even putting them in progress and/or into User Stories? I have seen many Scrum Masters do that and I do not think it is good for teams. What is your opinion? It seems they become PM rather than SM. Thank you! 🙂
Hey Nerida! Thanks for your kind words. I see you have a very Agile mindset here, way to go! 1. I think the Thu bank holiday is an exception, so I would talk to the team and asked if we can make an exception to start the sprint the next working day :) 2. I usually do and then I create a team calendar where everyone or most of the team members have rights to edit them. This way they can manage all the meetings themselves and I am not a bottleneck. Should they want to schedule a team meeting they can also do that from the calendar. 3. Agreed 100%. For this I recommend my video on Walking the board I explain how I like to do it with the team on the daily scrum th-cam.com/video/TOIccUxlqF0/w-d-xo.html
@@NERIDA82 The easiest way to do it is when the company uses google and you can just do it there. I think in outlook it is also possible, not as straightforward but can be done.
Loving your videos! Binge watching since yesterday. I love your approach. Really easy to understand. Thank you.
That's so awesome! Thank you, made my day :)
I wish I had someone like you on my team, Maria!
Oh, that's so sweet, thank you!

Makes a lot of sense. In the end, stances are like hats and we should never be "managers" and always "servant leaders". Thanks for the comment! :)

@@AgileStateofMind thank you Maria, I am glad I got these clarifications from you. Which app do you use to create a shared team calendar?
