    Great video!
    A few months ago, I did a similar "one hose to the RV" mod using off-the-shelf garden hose components.
    After seeing a few videos with a "Y" adaptor at the water source and two hoses to the RV, I simply put the "Y" at the RV end. The "Y" already came with valves for each outlet, so there is complete control over where the water goes.
    I used a couple of short "hose savers" and 90-degree connectors to make the connections from the "Y" to my fresh water and black tank flush connections.
    Like you, I also have a breaker inline between the "Y" and the black tank flush to avoid having anything back up into the fresh water source.
    Food for though for anyone uncomfortable going the Pex route. This approach just uses regular hose screw-on connections.
    At the inlet to the "Y", I also put a small garden water flow meter so I can tell how many gallons of water I've added to my black tank when flushing. (I don't have the meter in the wet bay that you have.)
    I'm definitely going to switch my "outdoor shower" hose connection to a garden hose connector. Thanks for the tip!

    Erik, Great vlog explaining your wet bay mods! I can’t wait to see your automation to your web bay!
    I noticed you mentioned REV RV Service Center you were at was an authorized service center for American, Fleetwood RV and Holiday Rambler. REV RV is actually the parent company who owns American Coach, Fleetwood RV, Holiday Rambler, Monaco Coach and Renegade RV.
    REV RV currently has three regional service centers. They’re service centers are located in Decatur, IN (which is REV RV’s home base for their manufacturing plants) as well as Coburg, OR, Alvarado, TX and soon they will have one near Las Vegas.

    If you have hot water to the generator you usually have a hose outlet. Works best for washing off bugs. Every RV pro say never use the same water connection for both the flush and fresh water. The check valve only stops back-flush. I have a separate hose for flushing black/grey tanks. Our fresh water has a "whole house" filtering system plus an external one I have in-line.

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We are looking at a whole house water filter as a manufacturer has asked us to install one so we will keep you posted. As for the separate hoses, i agree that is what folks say, but since the rinse valve is always in the off position when the backflow protector is in use we've had no issues. I think its far more likely (in my opinion) to experience cross contamination after months of hauling hoses into separate bins, touching things etc but absolutely to each their own. We've been 100% happy with no issues and love the setup so far as even dropping one hose was a win for our storage. Thanks for the comments! (also i'm not aware of hot water to a generator but that sounds interesting and would love to know more!)

    I would put the fresh water Pressure Regulator on the inside of the rig. You could have the Gauge and then the on and off knob on the back panel which would look dope.

      @LivinliteNet1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      not a bad idea! Especially since we've had a couple fail moving this to the inside is a great idea. Will look into that!

    Erik...thanks for the tip on the threaded hose nozzle. I'm ashamed to admit that I've ad the same nozzle for years and never looked under the rubber guard. Gee- the things you learn from TH-cam creators!

    Excellent video, again! I just ordered the pex tool and camping stool, hope the credit goes your way. Been looking for a little stool to save the knees. I’ve have a filter, water softener and whole house (motorhome) filter system so I’ll stick with the extra black water rinse hose.
    Your video came at a great time, I have a leak. When I removed the wet bay panels I found the leak at the join of a T fitting connecting a non-pex line to the external shower. I’ll try to redo all in pex.
    Thanks again and glad you’re still in our Lone Star state. Summer time is coming and so are the famous roses of Tyler! Did you get to see the blue-bonnets along the highways in the Hill Country (Fredericksburg and Georgetown area).

      thanks guys, much appreciated. Glad we could help out with the leak! We had to move out of Texas and are in Vegas but are heading back to that neck of the woods in a couple weeks as we head to Nashville!

    Eric, have you ever seen or used the Sewer Solution? I can pump my black/grey discharge up to 100' up a slight grade with just water pressure. Everything goes through a 3/4 inch line. Have had one since early 2000 with zero problems. No electric to worry about. Check it out!

      We've tried it but we couldnt get nearly the speed (and rinsing results were mixed) of a macerator. That said we've talked to lots of people who LOVE them and the price is awesome. Might have to give it another look when we have more time.

      12v reel. I had to think about that for a second! But it works when the inverter is off so 12 volts!

    Nice upgrades!! Looking to do the same with our new Pace Arrow as our wet bay is very cramped and not user friendly. Quick question on the black tank rinse/fresh water inlet tree... have you had any issues with hooking up to dump stations where the faucet states "water not safe for drinking?" or do you only do the black tank rinse when hooked up at campgrounds with potable water? I like the idea of a single hose feeding both, but could see some contamination if the source is non-potable. TIA!

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi! Well first off that notice about non-potable water is required by law. Its not usually a different water source, just likely that the hoses etc are subject to cross contamination so they put that sign. Still, definitely NOT something we would hook up using this tree but Lysol will definitely help with the cross contamination just to be safe. We only use our black rinse when we are at a potable water location. Not the end of the world to not rinse and 99% of the time when we are using a dump station its because we've been driving or boon docking which means we have plenty of grey water to rinse out the hoses etc (not the black tank but... you do what you can). Then when we arrive back at full hookups we do a full dump..

    Great videos Erik. Have you purchased the sanicon 600 turbo yet? If so, how is it working? Where can they be purchased?

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Corey, we just arrived back in CT where we are staying for a little while and will be doing upgrades as well. Our Sanicon Turbo 600 is in but we have to install in the next couple weeks. We will film the install and first impressions so stay tuned. They are only available through dealers and many dealers don’t have direct accounts with Thetford so many dealers don’t know they exist yet but if you have a local dealer you trust tell them to call thetford and setup an account and then you can buy through that dealer. We are working with NIRVC to get an account setup for followers to purchase from as well as another option but we want to test it first so stay tuned.

      @LivinliteNet1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      i couldnt for the life of me find them on the home depot website as they started moving away from certain sharkbite fittings i think but these are basically the same on amazon and also brass now. amzn.to/2B4T2Dn

  • @foretravelman67
    @foretravelman67 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love my pex, but I carry sharkbite fittings for the hook ups. Easy peezy, with no tools required. Well, you do need the cutter and the sharkbites can be taken off and reused as well. On your flush system; personally, I would never trust my fresh water hooked to the black flush, cut-off or not. Just saying!

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Joe, yes sharkbite push on fittings are AWESOME but they are expensive and designed to be for temporary use. Use 5 of them and you've paid for a crimp kit for life. We see more and more folks using them for permanent installations but if any of my dad's plumbing buddies (he's a contractor) saw me recommend them as perm solution they would come after me with their pipe wrenches. Kidding but in all seriousness in talking to the pros they don't recommend them except for temporary use (at least all the ones i know). As for the back flush, keep a special eye on how the valve system works, you need to turn off the water supply before the back flush initiates cutting off the fresh water supply. While i agree there might be a risk, I think putting hoses in and out in bins, accidentally touching stuff, cross contaminating etc. introduces more risk than a plumbed system. If you want to really give yourself nightmares think about how your foot flush toilet isolates the fresh water supply from the output into the bowl... Not all toilets are the same but its given me a second thought or two on how often I give the fresh water tanks a good cleaning. Thank you so much for the comments and information. GREAT INPUT!!!

    • @foretravelman67
      @foretravelman67 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply, Eric! On the shark bites, I have used them for years with never a problem with many plumbing jobs. However, they are expensive, so I don't recommend plumbing an entire system with them. Great for small jobs and the fact that they can be removed and reinstalled, makes it even nicer! Again, it's for the quick easy fix.

    is the flush end of the tree that runs to the tank a factory part?

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure which part you are referring to. The top black hose inlet in the wet bay was factory yes. Normally you just hook a hose up to that for the rinse system.

    • @64maxpower
      @64maxpower 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      LivinLite.net I was referring to the factory rinse system that is internal in the black tank. I've since researched that it'd possible to retrofit it to the tank

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ah yes, absolutely you can add a rinse. Usually they just drill a hole in the tank and expoxy and your good to go with a plumbed rinse system. Here is an amazin link to an inexpensive one with pretty good reviews. amzn.to/2wmbpUt

    Why do people point up when there is never anything there...
    Just say,, Will add a link to the show notes below..

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Lankster, creators point up because youtube has "cards" (thats what they call them) that show in the top right hand corner that provide links to what the creator is talking about. Cards do not always show depending on the device and app in the device you using. Most people who have this issue are usually working on a mobile device or tablet. This can be made worse when TH-cam updates their app causing the "cards" to show up in a different location. If you have any particular links that you couldn't links to let us know and we'll send the direct links your way.

    • @bmcclure0561dad
      @bmcclure0561dad 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The creator is ALWAYS up above, regardless of whether you are using a smart phone or a laptop! Sometimes he shows you your link, sometimes not!

    • @LivinliteNet1
      @LivinliteNet1  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bmcclure0561dad cards are not supported on a number of devices including Roku and other smart tv's so we see folks miss them a lot on non standard platforms but we'll make sure to run through and check this video to see if any cards are missing. TH-cam is also changing their card guidelines a bunch in favor of an advertising based model so stuff sometimes "disappears". Of course there is the occasional us forgetting to put up a card too! Thanks for the check-in, we'll check it out!
