I just imagined you lying in bed, deathly ill, shivering with chills, reaching for the pills with the last of your strength and going: "Wait... I could put some resin in this." 😂😂😂 You're a treasure, Steve.
From America, so sorry you were ill, Steve. As someone else said, shingles definitely ain't for wimps! Glad you're feeling better and good to hear your voice. 💙
That was so strange seeing this video come up! I've been using my pill strips to cast resin in and also the packaging from some of my medical supplies for quite a while as part of work for an exhibition focussing on medical trauma and and living with disability and chronic illness. It's really liberating to see something beautiful come out of something that dominates my life. It's so important to me to be able to do this and the best therapy ever for me. Thanks for the video - there are so many materials that we can use for moulds - so many unexpected ones that just make beautiful results x
Man! I'm so sorry that you have been sick! I have Addison's disease so I know what it's like to get sick a lot. You are so cool though because you think just like me! I look at EVERYTHING like, "how can I use this in my art?". Lol I'm glad you don't let it get you down and you still share your awesome ideas with us! Thanks so much! You inspire me!! ❤❤😊😊
Wow, I didn't know regular plastic could be used for resin...thank's for sharing !!! Fortunately you are feeling better now - this disease is really bad. 💚
Steve take care of yourself my friend. Shingles are the absolute worst. My mom had that and it was a nightmare. It’s usually brought on by stress. Hoping you are not too stressed. You are a wonderful source of joy for so many of us. Thjs is so cool.
Loved the bracelet and earrings. What a great idea for making your own sets. You could make a set to match every outfit with this technique. The bone shaped key holder was a great idea too. Shingles are awful, glad you're feeling better now.
Those packagings work so well don't they. They work well for making silicone inlays too. Oh heck Steve I didn't know you'd been so ill. Glad you're better
I love how, whenever I have a question about whether something works with resin or not, I know for a fact Steve's already tried it and I can come see how it went 😅😂😂
Oh Steve I adore your attitude! Suffer a horrid virus like shingles and turn it into a positive by building something beautiful from the medicine packaging!! I’m on sick leave with my mental health and this idea gave me such a lovely warm feeling so thank you so much for that x
Anyone who sees the things I save for my resin crafting thinks I'm just a hoarder!! Lol .Ive got plastic containers from things I've purchased and when I'm all well I plan to really get going. I had cancer which really put a halt to my resin activities and my other crafting but it's all good because when I couldn't do much of anything my brain was soaking up ideas. Thanks for your positive attitude and your creativity!! 🎉🎉🎉
Love how that bracelet came out! ❤❤❤ I wonder if you sprayed the containers with silicone mold release, it would be easier to de-mold? 🤔 Anyway, very nifty, never would have thought to use those like that. Love your up-cycling! Keep up the awesome work! ❤😃
So sorry to hear about your illness. Happy to see you are recovered. My father suffered when he had shingles, it was so hard to see this huge strong man in such pain. Leave it to you,the eternal optimist to find beauty while in pain. Thank you for sharing.😊
Glad you are feeling better ,Steve. Your video was perfect timing! I was looking at some packages and wondering if I could use them but couldn’t afford to waste resin if it failed. Steve to the rescue!
Oh, Steve! I am so sorry you've been ill, especially with the dreaded (and dreadful!) Shingles. It is SO HORRIBLE. 😱😫😭🙏 Bless your heart, I hope you're recovering well? 🙏🙏🙏 Yes! I save SO many plastic packaging shapes! Wow, I never thought to use the pill blister packs to make beads...BRILLIANT! Great jewelry! 😘😍💕
Kept a lot of plastic packs just for using with resin, but from what I tested I need to find a way to release them because my resin sticks to plastic like that, maybe a smidge of vaseline with a q-tip like you cleaned them!
As someone who’s had Shingles, I really can relate to how you felt! Shingles is horrible. I had even had a vaccine for it and I still got it! Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, but still bad nonetheless. Hope you are feeling better! I love watching your other channel too, it amazes me what you can make out of nothing. But, unfortunately now everything I look at I see something I could do with it, lol. Just not enough hours in the day. Haha. Thanks Steve for opening up our minds to see treasure where most would see only junk. 🤗
❤so sorry to hear you had shingles Steve! I’ve had it twice and it was HORRIBLE! I’m also too young for the vaccine. I, as well as others are so happy you are feeling better!🎉
Great idea! Would spraying a release help when using UV? LOVE the jewelry. As a retired nurse I know how painful shingles can be! Glad you’re feeling better!
I'm so sorry you've had shingles. My sister had it and she is still suffering from it. Hopefully that won't be the case for you. I really love all of those pieces that you made. They are so really pretty!
Hey Steve glad you're back and well 🤗 Funny... I did the same thing last summer with plastic from candy and some other shapes i had saved instead of trashing. So surprised to see this video now 🤩
I’m so sorry you had the shingles. They can be extremely painful post herpetic neuralgia is horrible. I had them a few years back I didn’t need any meds for which I’m thankful. Glad your back
Ooh dear shingles is horrible! I had it when I was 10yrs old and I still remember how painful it was under the rash and how awful I felt. I'm glad you're feel better. The idea of using the empty pill cases with resin never would have occurred to me so kudos to you for such an innovative idea Steve. I honestly thought the resin would stick to them, did you use mould release on them first? God bless you and your family. Have a great week!
Omg has it been that long ago, I totally remember the gun blister pack video! ❤ I really like the pill beads! Such a cute bracelet! ❤ It's kinda too bad about the UV since the kidney shaped one might make a nice trinket dish possibly if it could be managed somehow, as it seems a wee large 4 a Keychain... love your videos! U r Awesome! Sorry to hear u were ill, so glad u r better. I hear that can be excruciating, so glad u r on the other side, and on the mend. Hope u stay healthy:)😊
Thank you for this video, I have been thinking what I could do with all the plastic packaging. I used some of the bigger once for storage. I love it. ❤ Love from Germany Bettina
Hmm, if the kidney one was blue, maybe a lake or pool for a fairy garden, or gaming terrain? I've got a stash of trash plastic myself! Figured I'd have it handy whenever I use resin, for that last bit that's always left over. Great video!
So sorry to hear you have been under the weather, missed you and had a feeling something was going on. My husband has been asking when my crafting guy had another video 😂. If I ever get your way we have to “ make stuff “ and I invite you to do the same here in Texas, US.
I just found your channel tonight and I’m binge watching your videos. I LOVE that bracelet! May I ask what kind of drill bit you’re using? I make glass beads and use a diamond bit with those but don’t know if that would work with resin. I’m your newest subscriber!
Hi Steve I have been watching your tutorials for awhile now and love them. Thank you for al your trial and errors. Have you ever worked with ink jet transparency sheets and resin before? If so do I have to seal the transparency before putting it into the resin. Thank you for your help.
thanks for all the ideas. I have a question: have you ever had a problem putting uv resin on top of 2 part? I did son=me last year and I sell outside mine are in the sun at time and different temps. I had some of them separate and come apart. I don't know if it was something I did or just the from the weather.
Hi Steve, Did you spray the plastic with release spray first? I decided to pour 1 to 1 resin into some plastic animal shape chocolate mpulds, some I sprayed first with release spray some I didn't just to see if it would work. I cannot get any of them out no matter what I try lol, I've tried with a hair dryer to try and soften the plastic but no they're stuck hard, do you have any hints at all? I'm so new to resin you have inspired me so much I think I'm driving my family crazy every time I say I'm off to my craft room no interruptions and then clock watching impatiently waiting to see mould, this is becoming addictive haha
Interesting. I tried this with some of my husband’s pill cases a year or so ago and couldn’t get the resin out. It just stuck to the plastic. 🙁 Is it a case of different plastics?
Sorry you’ve been suffering with shingles, I had it on my scalp and face a couple of years ago, my left eye still isn’t right. One of the worse things to go through. Get well soon.
I dont know if this is possible but I don't have a cool drill yet and was thinking of sticking a vaseline coated needle straight through the mould and then make sure to seal it of course, would this be possible?
Question: does resin get hard and unusable if it is left out and not covered up?? In fact are there any situations where the resin can harden from exposure to air(without using a uv/curing lamp)?? I am starting to get into crafting with resin so i am curious.
The colored UV pill form reminds me of jellybeans. Steve I don't know if you saw the trick to suspend glitter in resin. Put your glitter in the resin like usual then add ONE drop of clear glue they used Elmers. It disperses better in the resin. Mix. The resin will get a jelly like consistency. If it doesn't seem firm enough to suspend the glitter, add one more drop. It's really shocking how one drop of glue will react to the resin.
I'm SO sorry you had singles. That had to have been absolutely miserable. They have a shot for that now. My humble suggestion is that you get one as soon as you're eligible. The UV resin would have worked perfectly had you used a light coat of mold release. This would also, theoretically because I've not tried it, give a heat buffer between the UV resin and the plastic.
I just imagined you lying in bed, deathly ill, shivering with chills, reaching for the pills with the last of your strength and going: "Wait... I could put some resin in this." 😂😂😂 You're a treasure, Steve.

Opening my mind's eyes you are, Steve.
Glad you are doing better.
I'm wondering if using a light coating of mold release would help?
So sorry to hear about your illness. Happy to see you are recovered. My father suffered when he had shingles, it was so hard to see this huge strong man in such pain. Leave it to you,the eternal optimist to find beauty while in pain. Thank you for sharing.😊
Great idea for bead making! Gotta give this one a go. I’m going to be peeping inside pill boxes, getting very strange looks 😂
Glad you are feeling better ,Steve. Your video was perfect timing! I was looking at some packages and wondering if I could use them but couldn’t afford to waste resin if it failed. Steve to the rescue!
Shingles is not for whimps. God bless you glad your feeling better.
Oh, Steve! I am so sorry you've been ill, especially with the dreaded (and dreadful!) Shingles. It is SO HORRIBLE. 😱😫😭🙏 Bless your heart, I hope you're recovering well? 🙏🙏🙏
Yes! I save SO many plastic packaging shapes! Wow, I never thought to use the pill blister packs to make beads...BRILLIANT! Great jewelry! 😘😍💕
Glad you’re feeling better. Having shingles isn’t fun. I really like your idea of using these little resin pellets in a mosaic project.
So sorry you have been ill....glad youre doing better now! Those pieces came out great!! Very nice
So sorry to hear about your illness.I do make jewellery with empty pill mold .Really easy to use.
Thanks Steve that’s a brilliant idea to use the pill packets for earrings and bracelets love them❤❤
Love the packaging recycle ideas ❤Having suffered through shingles myself I know what you went through, and am so glad you are better!

So sorry about your shingles. They are painful my father said. Thank you for the new ideas.
Love the jewelry idea so pretty
Sorry to hear you've been unwell
That was brilliant 🤩 ❤❤❤
I've had shingles. Heartfelt sympathy!
What an interesting idea !!! . I know how ya feel i suffer from shingles as well. Glad you are feel so much better
I’m so sorry you had the shingles. They can be extremely painful post herpetic neuralgia is horrible. I had them a few years back I didn’t need any meds for which I’m thankful. Glad your back
Brilliant Steve!!! I'm so glad you're better. I was praying for you.

Pill cases were what i used in my first resin project
Love how the beads turned out!!!
Will have to try them.
Thank you Steve- and hope you start feeling better
I love the jewelry they are beautiful

I used them to mix different colors for details or gradient in small mold
Very useful and direct in the bin afterwards 😂
what a great idea!!
you are brilliant hope you are ok now take care lol debbie xxxxxx
Awesome idea! ❤ It! Do you think resincrete would demould ok too? I've been having a play with it recently
What great ideas! Thank you! P. S. Shingles are awful! Very painful. Hope they are gone.
I just found your channel tonight and I’m binge watching your videos. I LOVE that bracelet! May I ask what kind of drill bit you’re using? I make glass beads and use a diamond bit with those but don’t know if that would work with resin. I’m your newest subscriber!

I just started watching you amaizing videos. What curing light do you recommend?
You could make a Go board/Othello game set with the little circles or any other biard game that uses circle pieces!
love everything you do. can you tell me what the bit is called that you drill your resin with?
Would a release spray work for getting them out?
Beads!! Love it!!
Hi Steve I have been watching your tutorials for awhile now and love them. Thank you for al your trial and errors. Have you ever worked with ink jet transparency sheets and resin before? If so do I have to seal the transparency before putting it into the resin. Thank you for your help.
Thank you. Funny you should say that I will be releasing a video on these in a few weeks
Steve, try a tiny film of baby oil in those molds. Should help them release.
Can you spray mold release reusable?
How do you clean the plastic jug after you've used all the resin
Would it help to spray those blister packs with mould release spray especially the UV one
How do you like that UV light? I'm in need of a good one if you have a recommendation.
thanks for all the ideas. I have a question: have you ever had a problem putting uv resin on top of 2 part? I did son=me last year and I sell outside mine are in the sun at time and different temps. Is the easy coat resin the same as deep pour? Since they are both 2:1?
Interesting. I tried this with some of my husband’s pill cases a year or so ago and couldn’t get the resin out. It just stuck to the plastic. 🙁 Is it a case of different plastics?
So can you use plastic candy molds then as well? I thought about that but figured it wasn’t able to be used with epoxy.
Sorry you’ve been suffering with shingles, I had it on my scalp and face a couple of years ago, my left eye still isn’t right. One of the worse things to go through. Get well soon.

I had shingles a few years ago on my face, wouldn't wish it on my almost worst enemy!
Hi Steve Sorry to hear you have had shingles. Such a painful illness.

So sorry - you had shingles- I know what that feels like - not fun @ all - this was pretty cool
I used a tiny gin bottle plastic packaging, just did half. The plastic stuck to my resin, so one use only.
Sorry to hear you had shingles! No need to apologize
the kidney shaped ones make them into kidney beans etc and put little sayings on them like "How you BEAN?" for example😀
Shingles while moving house?? That's just not fair!
Steve is wonderful to see yo pos-shigles! Keep getting better. XX
Look up pouring paint
Your imagination has been working overtime 😉 Glad your shingles is gone!
