Steve - if you paint the tattoos with white acrylic paint before you apply them (and let it dry, of course) the colours will stand out much better. Give it a try!
@@Microplancakes Also, if you print on white waterslide paper, it will help the colors pop. Or, you can take into consideration the color beneath before you decide to use waterslide paper.
The white lettering with the nail varnish stood out the best of the techniques shown. The black mica powder was the same level of darkness as the red glitter and so was hard to see, not enough of the yellow remained after being wiped off (a second coat would help). On the backs, the colors of the tattoos and the flowers was hard to see; a very thin coat of white resin before applying them would have made them stand out more. Overall a very nice set of molds to play with!
I have those hearts, but I thought they were for memorials not Valentine’s Day. I’m going to make some for my parents that have passed, and I’m definitely going to use some of your techniques! Thank you for sharing!
Love this. I ordered the molds from Amazon and received them 2 days ago. I didn't realize what they said but they are perfect. My best friend, my service dog Moonie Boo had a 6 lb tumor removed the week of Christmas and the cancer is so aggressive that tomorrow Friday February 3rd I will be taking her to her amazing vet to have her go to heaven. These molds will be perfect for my memory paw plaque. Thank you Steve.
Greetings as always I live your work/creations/tutorials. I was just thinking that for the "lips" perhaps you could've outlined them with a bit of glittery gold, silver or black, just enough to highlight the. Then once you poured the clear resin they would "pop". Just a thought.
Thanks for sharing an easier way of working with lettering on these molds. May I ask if you have a way to seal the acrylic paint which was added after curing? Thank you!
I love watching your tutorials and you give me so much inspiration. I used to do a great deal of resin art years ago and recently took it up again. One thing, I bought the micro ‘brushes’ that you’re using here but they’re not actually brushes, more like tiny cotton buds. They do work well and I do use them all the time but they’re not brushes. I’ve got these moulds and used mica mixed with alcohol to ‘paint’ the details. Look great. Thanks for all your hard work x
Ooh you can epoxy then all together to make a 4 leaf ☘ for st Patty's day, just use holographic windowfilm on the bottom so the letters don't show through??? In my minds eye this would work beautifully 😍
Thank you for all of your videos I’ve learned so much. Question I have is this. I actually have theses molds & I love them. I’ve tried the different lettering techniques you’ve shown. The problem I keep running into are so many micro bubbles around the tiny lettering. I love the after pour paint technique but those bubbles are amplified & ruin the crispness of the lettering. My hand isn’t steady enough for the micro brush painting before the pours, any suggestions would be appreciated on how to avoid those pesky bubbles would be appreciated. My next attempt will be trying copic fine tip paint pens, I’ll let you know if it works. Thanks again for your great videos. ♥️
Hello. Great channel, learned a lot. And i am not afraid of resin because of you. A question: my resin is 100/60, 100ml resin and 60 ml hardener, how do i calculate it to bigger batch? tnx...sry, just a beginner.
I tried resin today for the first time. I covered some polymer clay earrings . The UV resin said 2-4 min. I kept checking and after 12 min they are still tacky. I was careful not to put gobs of resin on them and followed the instructions than came with the UV lamp. What have I done wrong? These hearts are gorgeous. Thanks for any info you an give.
The wattage of your lamp will determine how long it takes. If it's hard and just has a sticky feel you can do a few things: leave them in the sun to cure completely (what I do if I'm not in a hurry,) if your clay is completely encased in resin you can wash them with warm soapy water (I'm assuming you can't get clay wet, I'm not experienced with clay,) or you can wipe them off with some 91% isopropyl alcohol.
I actually love the lips, subtle but that's how a lipstick kiss often is eg on tissue whilst blotting 💋 Well it is when I go about planting kisses anyway 😁
Teaching methods that does not work.. and trying to hide it ‼️👎 When you cleaned the yellow paint from the heart, you cleaned the paint from the letters too. That's ok, we all make mistakes. But making quick editing and try to hide it or go away…. I don't like it. ( 11:30 ++)
I have those moulds! Mine wasn't as good as yours! Sorry to ask but do you suffer with pompholyx? I ask because I saw your thumb, and well I suffer with it and it looks like yours. I just wanted to ask do find resin sometimes makes it worse. Sorry if I got it wrong, which is quite normal for me! All the best Steve
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts ahhh us phompholy-ers have to stick together! Stress makes mine flare up, but I noticed when I have been bad Emma and not put gloves on and resin touches my fingers they go crazy, I've been doing a lot of research on it cos I am strange like that and you are the only other person I know who uses resin and suffers with it. I make a fabulous hand cream that seems to make the flare ups not so painful. I could send you the recipe, my brother suffers too and he said it's better than the steroid cream but I think he was just being nice! Thank you 🌟

How does that work? Aren't you ruining the tattoo?
Thanks!
Those are adorable!
Wow. That was ALOT of great content. Had to slow you down. I love how these turned out! Thank you!
My goodness you are like Cinder-fella! Is there anything you can't do? Learning so much, Thank you 😊
All beautiful, perfect gift for valentines Day.👌❤️

So glad you shared the Mod Podge gluing hint. I’ve been fighting floaters in my projects.
Those are really great! I love the red glitter! I also love how the white nail polish turned out. I will definitely remember that.
Beautiful 🥰
Oh neat, I love it as a wall hanging too!
Awesome hearts!! Love the different ways to bring out the lettering.
Stay safe, you do you, and stay crafty 👍👍🛎️🛎️🦋🦋

I bought myself a ring about 6 months ago similar to yours. I love that style.
Lovely 😍
All of the hearts look great! Love the different techniques, and they are pretty simple, too! Thank you Steve 😊!!!
Pretty, but glad you added the butterfly, the lips were upside down. Lol

Love thos as I do all your things ,have you ever thought of doing a resin union jack
What in the heck happened to those butterflies?! TYSM for sharing Steve! Love this channel!
What about taking your resin skins and cutting fish shapes and making coasters
Where did you get those molds please 0:50
Awesome videos. Been trying to do Resin but it’s always sticky and doesn’t really cure
Hi Steve, I really enjoy your videos.
what’s the difference between Mod Podge and tack it over glue? Thank you
I just got a package of tattoos in today and am eager to start playing. Umm... are those lips upside down? Loving the dried flowers in there.
Another beautiful project 😊

Try spraying your mold with 91% or higher isopropyl alcohol before you pour your resin. It does wonders to reduce micro bubbles on molds like this.

Steve, can you use acrylic paint straight on a mold? If you can, will it ruin the mold? Thank you for all your lessons.

Genius
These were really interestimg- however having just watched the Darrell Brooks court videos, the Tack-It made me snort 😂
That would be great to hang in a corner with a light behind it..
Can I use gel nail polish
I actually love the lips, subtle but that's how a lipstick kiss often is eg on tissue whilst blotting 💋
Well it is when I go about planting kisses anyway 😁
Im having a hard time finding the small brushes
I found them on amazon searching on micro craft brushes
Poppies? Surely they are violets/pansies Steve ?
My favorite is the real pansys
Where’s the lips ?
Pansey
Eh....pansies 🤪
