It is important to me that all my fragrances are cruelty free. I mailed Makesy asking if their fragrances where cruelty free and they told me to go check every fragrance sheet data, but wish I had that kind time, if I know any fragrance is tested on animals I will not buy it by any means

I loved Forgotten Sweater and Your Name Is An Adverb. They remind me of perfumes I once had and got the life of me can’t remember them. Does anyone know if these were dupe of perfumes? I’m hoping they aren’t discontinued if they are.

Most suppliers use afi and 2 others
I tested AFI Percephone in a melt, and a cube only lasted a day. I sent all my samples to have duped through AFI. Hive and Honey have the real 16/17 fragrance. They're buying them from the same manufacturer 16/17 did.
It is very likely that 16/17 purchased their oils from AFI, however it is possible that the samples AFI duped for you had a different solvent/aromatic compound ratio.
@earthglow That's a good possibility. So far, the only one I've tested is Percephone. I'm getting ready to test Calle 23 and the Vibrant Ms Vien
I wouldn’t doubt what you are saying. I remember Sixteen Seventeen had a custom blender on their staff, so not sure how this manufacturer is making these specific FO’s. Maybe, I am not understanding how this all works . And, I am willing to bet that most companies aren’t as clean as they say their fragrance oils truly are!
That was a lie they told. All of their FOs were dupes of designer fragrances. They had them replicated.
As soon as I can get my EIN I will be ordering from AFI because they have my personal favorite fragrances that I cannot find anywhere. Now that I am into this new hobby... I have something to do with 10lbs. The fragrances I need are discounted 🤫 When I can find dupes I will purchase small batch. It's cheaper to buy from AFI rather than have it duplicated myself, which was the only option before I found the source. I would then have to purchase 25 lbs, so... I'll spend $200 and share the rest with customers. I had already figured this out before I started making fragranced products.

But if 16/17 and CS getting their oil from afi how are they putting the label of clean scent? Its the same supplier! I doubt 1617 was cleaning every oil, getting rid of the chemicals or even that process is achievable.
I am not sure that CS gets their oils from AFI, and, even if they do, there are modifications AFI can make to the mixture to add/remove given ingredients, however this will change the aromatic profile to a certain degree of the mixture.
@@earthglow that's possible. Afi refers on their website naming certain oils are that of CS's. I was going through the sds sheets at hive and honey and maple street. Looks like h&h made their own sds sheets.
Rest assured, CS isn't getting *any* of their FOs from AFI!
AFI can and does dupe other suppliers' FOs (to varying degrees of accuracy) which is why they offer these 'type' oils. Doesn't at all mean they created the original scent for the supplier.
