8. Michael J. Fox - This Canadian-born actor has been on the scene since 1973. However, the role that truly jump-started his career was his portrayal of Marty McFly in the 1985 film, Back to the Future. He’s known for other work as well including a couple of television shows, like Spin City from 1996 to 2001 and The Good Wife from 2010 to 2016. It’s safe to say Michael J. Fox has made a big impact even if he doesn’t measure up to most men physically. This award-winning star is just under 5’5”, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking home four Golden Globes and five Primetime Emmys throughout his career so far. Although Fox can’t travel back in time in real life, there’s no need since he’ll continue to accomplish great things in the future.
7. Kevin Hart - Although this comedian began his career on stage doing stand-up, he has prospered in the field of acting, while continuing his live performances. Kevin Hart had a rough introduction to the entertainment industry, similar to most people who are just starting out. He was reportedly unpopular during his first appearance at The Laff House in his hometown. After continuing his efforts in spite of initial defeat, Hart was cast in television movies and series, like North Hollywood in 2001 and Undeclared from 2002 to 2003. He went on to take roles in bigger-name films like Ride Along in 2014 to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle just last year. He’s known for all of these achievements, but people also recognize him as being somewhat shorter than most. Hart stands at 5’4”, and has even included his compactness in some of his stand-up routines over the years. This actor may have trouble reaching the top of the fridge, but he has no problem attaining new heights in his career.
6. Seth Green - A huge deal in the world of comedy, this actor is ahead of the curve when it comes to making people laugh. Seth Green has played in movies like Without a Paddle in 2004 and Dear Dictator just recently. He’s also well-known for his ongoing work in television series including Robot Chicken and Family Guy, and has taken home several awards for the former. Although he’s reached new heights through his career, Green only stands at 5’4”. But, what this actor doesn’t have regarding tallness, he makes up for in comedic genius - บันเทิง

Shorter men are more environmental friendly because we use less fabric to make clothing, and generally eat far less and weigh less, needing less food to sustain us, and just need less larger size accessories, cars, bicycles, furniture etc. Short guys Rule~

It does not matter what height the actresses, or actors are, regarding their acting skills. There are great tall, and short actors, and actresses! They don't have anything to prove! Either the Director likes you, or not, for the role, whether you are tall or short.

My first husband, father of my 2 daughters is only 5'3". I was only 14 when we met and I was 5'2". Eventually, I started growing again and he stayed 5'3" and I ended up 5'7".

Tom Cruise may be 5' 7", but his wallets 8-foot tall. The guys MONEY. who cares how tall people are? Look at Danny DeVeto, he's under 5-feet, and a rock star, and over 70. Look at Bono (of U2) he's 5' 3", and known world-wide, and a multi billionaire. Talents - talent. I'm about 6-foot, but i'd gladly be 5' 1" to be have Bono, or Tom Cruise talent, and or, money.

Have you noticed that most of the really short actors are comics, or known for their comic roles. At 5’3” I can relate to that, being the guy that would be the joker at school to fit in and avoid being bullied. It worked but my character has remained the same.

Um, and why didn't Verne Troyer make this list?! Dude was widely popular as an actor, and had a darn good career in the field for someone who was only 2' 8". You cannot get much shorter than that, unless you are an infant child. This guy was in some of the biggest Hollywood comedies around.

I'm 5'7". I consider myself a short guy compared to other Dutch men who are the tallest people in the world. However when I go to visit South East Asia, I feel like a giant among midgets as long as there are no other Western tourists around!

It's nice that they're pointing out the actors' chops but I cringe every time they put it like, 'oh, he's short but his talent is big'. So, gosh, we shouldn't hold their height against 'em, right? I appreciate that it's being recognized how amazingly talented these people are. Some actors haven't made this list, such as Dustin Hoffman and Mark Hamill, who are both incredible talents but not very tall. Tallness is absolutely no measure of talent.

I wonder why even with his passing, as it hasn't been that long ago, why they didn't place Verne Troyer in first place!!! He was well known as mini me and played griphook in the last Harry Potter movie, among many other movies and shows including some of the big brother shows and the like!!! He will be greatly missed!!! I guess maybe Warwick Davis had to many characters on hand and in the same scenes so they brought in Verne to play griphook, as he and the banker were in scenes together!!
But Verne was only 2'8" making him the shortest man to ever act that I am aware of! Warwick was his inspiration to come to Holliwood!!

James Cagney, Mickey Rooney, Dustin Hoffman, Al Pacino...Big-time successful giants in motion pictures.
Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Woody Allen, Martin... Short (!) have never had any problem since they´ve all been naturally - and significantly - comedy-oriented. Things were probably a bit less easy for stars like Alan Ladd or Jimmy Dean, though. And as for actresses, what about the tiny kind of ´tanagra‘ femme fatale Veronica Lake? On the silver screen, it’s mostly a matter of global proportions, and also of choosing the right partner.

Actually, 5'8'' seems to be the average international height for men (mode and median) according to what I've seen on country height listings. If that's the case, then 5'7 is not short by international standards; it's actually about average height. I would suggest this channel do some research before reporting things like this.

In Rome you had to be 5’10 to Join the Military, their is some debate as to what their 5’10 was but, either way it shows they had good height because this was the minimal requirement. Most of these actors I did not know were short. Professor Flitwick is one of my favorite Harry Potter characters.
5'7' seems to be the go-to height min. for shorties, 6' is response for 5'-10+ crowd.

I'm 5'7"+ but should be 5'9"..scoliosis caused height loss. 5' 8" was average for men 50 years ago...The younger generation is taller due to the growth hormone's in the meat and poultry. True story here !! One summer my friends and I rented an apartment down the Jersey shore. (From Philly). I had just turned 21 and hitting the clubs. There were times when I didn't have the money to hit the clubs. The older heads that were crashing in our place would pay for me to go with them "because you get surrounded by chicks". Well I'm 5"5'. I'm now 56, traveled the country for work and had a marvelous time. There were times I wished I was taller, but I worked with what was given me and had a ball. Peace.
