As Salaamu Alaykum wa RahmatuLlaah. This is ‘Abd el Haqq. North Philly to the rest of the world. Big salute to all my ikhwaan in Jersey - Paterson on down to AC. Appreciate the insight that you’re giving to the listening world. And there’s so much more to say. Prison itself is dictated by the people within it. Times change and People get transferred so each Prison fluctuates in its thoroughness. That’s the reality throughout Fed, State & County.
Being Muslim at one point in time was the most powerful type of convict that one could be. The strength, (mentally and physically), of many who were Muslim made others respect it, as Jail, on the most part, is founded entirely off of Respect factors. Code of Life is honored especially in an environment where it’s expected for men to act like “animals” and “savages”, yet are still warriors but outwardly clothed as scholars. A good name on top of that always brought others together who were on the same type time (i.e. being about ones business, family, and having no dirt to one’s name). And Therefore the Muslim Unity (which consisted of discipline and knowledge based actions) was a bond and strength that was feared by especially administration. Islam is the one thing that can bring a whole Prison together (connecting the tribes/nations), if implemented correctly. For those who know, Islam was considered as a “gang label” at one time and CRAF used to ask if you are Muslim when you arrived (atleast that was the case in the past .) Our Blood, Wealth & Honor is Sacred amongst each other. And “organization” which keeps order, takes care of the people (Muslim and affiliates), and raises the standards of those who may have had low standards before is always highly respected by “Men”. In regards to the street organizations, Allaah knows best concerning many who are members and Muslim. Everyone has a jaahiliyyah past and everyone comes from a particular neighborhood which hopefully they have influence over and aren’t the influenced. For those who have the influence, my naseehah (sincere advice) would be and has always been, to raise your “pups” and “little homies” to have ethics. “They may not know Allaah yet …but they know you. And you will be their introducer. And You will be held accountable by Allaah for yours.” May Allaah forgive those who aren’t influential and who fall victim to their surroundings. As long as they don’t die in a state of Kufr they have a chance to eventually get it right. InShaa Allaah

Haqq💯 when there were individuals with shady histories who became shahid, we witnessed the shahada and put them to study. we made sure that whoever they were running from was aware that they were among the fold if there was any debt before they came to the phone they had to clear that period but after it had been made clear, they were under the protection of the Muslim. I don’t know where these brothers get off, trying to make the rules that were already made. brothers trying to uphold street codes when all you have to do is just be a real man. We went at it with everything in the yard and smashed Fi sabi lla💪🏿 We protected our brother on right. And when on the b.s. We corrected them. And we were laid back. There is a sunna for everything.

I think 🤔 once brothers fully understand the obligation of ..Want for yourself as you want for your brother becomes a duty to All Muslims to feed, protect and love each other as the Companions did.. wether color or creed.. Building on that should be the focus... It should be the lessons taught and implemented by all who worship together. Placing Shareef's and Amir's on blocks helps the innovation stay out of our Deen. Inshallah He increase our knowledge, strength and patience during these times of Fitna in the sijjin. But no Muslim should ever be in a gang and We no matter what city you live in should allow friends or family to Hurt Our Brothers or sisters who LOVE ALLAH...

As- Salaamu 'Alaikum akhi. My laqab ( honorific- title) is Sayfullaah. I have done a lot of prison time and I fully understand everything you shared about the ummah and even attending Jumu'ah for salaatul jama'aah in the masjid. Meeting the brothers was a beautiful day for us. As Muslims, Jumu'ah is an eid that comes once a week for those who ascribe to the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet( saws). Once we, truly accept Islam, we will come to the pure understanding that "ALL MUSLIMS, WANT PROTECTION FROM ALLAAH, BECAUSE HE PROTECTS ( AL-WALEE) ALL THE MUSLIMS WHO TRULY ASCRIBE TO THIS DEEN. WE NEED PROTECTION SHAYTAAN ALL THE TIME WITHIN THIS DUNYAA, THIS IS WHY WE SEEK REFUGE IN ALLAAH FROM SHAYTAAN THE ACCURSED ALL THE TIME. I've been Muslim since 1987 but Alhumdulilaah l grew by learning about the deen. My brother, please remember this, It doesn't matter "where you accept Islaam" at! Because, when our scholar Shaykh ul Islam Ibn Taimiyyah was incarcerated, the Muslims were doing any and everything to be amongst the Shaykh. They turned the prison into a Madrasah ( Islamic School) to learn the deen. When realizing that, and not having any base or authentic hadeeth that says, " your acceptance of Islaam in prison is not accepted!" In fact, the life of this world is a prison for the believers and paradise for the disbelievers!" And ALLAAH knows best. As Salaamu 'Alaikum akhi.

How to make a hookup, sleeping in small confinements, listening to thw radio, walking the yard, and etc. Some of us didnt shake the things we got from jail, either good or bad.

Alhamduillalĺah for everything Ahki. I'm also Muslim and I'm from Plainfield and I feel everything that you are saying. I'm 50 years old and been to every State Prison in New Jersey but 2. Annandale and Southern State. I'm not nor have I ever been gang affiliated and nor would I ever be. But I have also seen alot and been through alot when it comes to the Muslims and the Gangbangers and I was there when things got thick and we wasn't playing nor was we tolerating the disrespect 💯. I been down Bayside 3 times and I know about the phone situation also 💯 😂😂. But if you was allowing them to get it off on you then that was on you because no Muslims were being Opressed by nobody 💯. But I can go on for days about my time in the Prison system being Muslim but not on here. Its a good thing that you letting the people know about Islam and what we tolerate and don't tolerate 💯. But the Iman used to say that we don't know whats in there heart when it comes to religion. I have also done alot of time with the blood and crips that was Muslim and they were big homies as well. But they used to never allow it to go that far if it was concerning a Muslim. But we all know that people can be pump faking and us as Muslims don't let our guard down while we're in certain areas and around certain people 💯.

I remember when I was down Annandale the Muslims made a rule that if a Muslim was banging either blood or crip that he couldn’t come to Muslim services on Friday. They made them choose one or the other. My Hoover homeboy from Atlantic City ended up getting disciplined over it because he chose his Muslim faith over his gang allegiance. I personally didn’t see any reason to violate him, but that decision came from over my head so he got tripped on and kicked out of the unit. I was expecting his Muslim brothers to come to his defense, but they let it happen. I guess that was something they felt he needed to go through so that he could be done with gangbanging.

السلام عليكم ورحمةالله very interesting piece Akhi, I send nothing but peace your way. With regards to being in gangs, which is a word in which the FBI coined to label black organizations that stood up for the injustices going on in communities. There is strength in numbers which is why Jeff Fort and Larry Hoover are in prison. Allah azza Wa jall has said in Surah Al Hujurat ayat 13,’O mankind! We have created you from a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. GDN BPSN VLN LKN, all of these are nations and tribes. Just as Rasoolullah salallahu alayhi wa sallam was of the Arab nation and was of the tribe of the Quaraysh, and they warred against other tribes, modern day gang banging. So being apart of these nations & tribes is permissible. What’s not permissible is when we allow culture,, customs, and creeds to supersede Quran and Sunnah, Allahu Alam. In shaa Allah this was helpful. If I said anything incorrect, that came from self. If I said anything correct and beneficial, it’s from Allah subhana Wa ta’ala. Enjoyed this, السلام عليكم

The reality is in prison The Bloods are oppressive and in Islam its zero tolerance on Oppression. So it goes down. However most time its no For The Sake of Allah. You need a brother who knows the religion to decide if its really time to kick up. Based on Quran and Sunnah.
