They looked neat, but a bad idea. The DV550 definitely wasn’t made for turbo use. I worked for CaseIH for years as a tech, never recommended that engine to anyone.
Why did they make the 550 if they had the 436? If both are diesel, wouldn't the turbo diesel be the better option? Wouldn't that be like selling an F250 with an 7.3 IDI while also selling the powerstroke 7.3? I thought Turbo Deezies were better in almost every aspect...

@@NIGBEATS they are. V8 has less mains supporting the crank, usually smaller connecting rods, not much of a torque rise...
