I've got a few Warriors and I have never understood the thought of the original linkage. One of the first upgrades I do to them is a direct mount shifter. They feel so much better afterwards.
Yeah I can't see an advantage to Yamaha's design there.
What shifter can I use

Excellent fix. The old shifter lever was junk from the get go. Ok for a toy but not for that rig. Thanks for sharing. Now go have fun.
I did the same thing to mine I also made a custom Fender support bracket on the rear. I did upload a video but it's kind of shitty I need to redo it. The shifter itself is way better. I also welded the pegs to the frame.👍🙏
If you wanted to you can bend it out a little bit and that would leave you with enough room for you to put a shifter up more so you can have enough room for your boots. That's what I did with mine. I got the part that was hitting it and went down an inch from there and put on my voice and got a torch and heat it up and hit it with a hammer to bend it some. Problem solved LOL
Lol no way in HELL that Lever would bust that crankcase cover! Those older engines are bulletproof brother and believe me I've tested it 😂

I was able to bust one open hitting a stick when I was 7yrs old so yea not bulletproof tuff but not indestructible

Change your oil and your neutral is very easy
Had fresh oil change lol- it was a non running barn find and I had just finished refurbishing it and bringing it back to life which obviously included tune up and oil change.

Yeah- hammer a flathead screwdriver or anything else through the gap which will bend it open some so you can slide it off.

When I put mine in first it goes but doesn’t click. Is that something I can fix with adjusting the shifter?
Possibly. Or step down on it a little quicker and with a little more pressure. Sometimes when the clutches get worn, it start causing different shifting behaviors. Mine is pretty much completely shot and it's very difficult to shift. I'm replacing the clutch as soon as it warms up enough to do so...
What shifter did you use? It's not a stock warrior piece I was just wondering what you used to put on in place of the stock one

@@BuckeyeBallistics sorry I didn't see the name of it but I didn't know if it was for another model. Many have told me the shifter from a KX250 works. I can't find nothing specifically for a warrior
As I have told several others in the comments: I searched "warrior 350 shifter" on ebay and this is one of several that came up, so I'm assuming it's actually for a warrior and not some other bike.

I got it on ebay. Just look for warrior 350 shifters on there and you should find it.

I got it on ebay brother. Faster? Shoulda done a big bore kit while you had the head off lol. Better air filter/re jet carb, better exhaust system, and they make a performance cam for it as well. But honestly you'll only gain a couple HP from the filter, exhaust, and re-jet (all together)- and maybe a couple from the cam itself. Big bore kit with high compression piston will add the most power, but you'll have to run at least 93 octane, maybe higher (race gas) depending on what compression ratio you go with. It's honestly more cost effective to just buy a faster bike. I had a 300ex before the Warrior and it was noticeably faster and handled a lot better too, and those cost about the same as a Warrior. Or spend more and go even bigger- 400ex, 400z, Raptor, etc.
Upgrade the piston and do a new clutch.366 big bore and Tusk clutch
