What make it so enjoyable is how much fun and energy there is. The more recent show lack the over the top vibe. No need big celebrity. Make the clothes stunning and a good set, make the concept and art direction interesting. Let the model have personality and charisma. Let them interact with the crowd. The show should feel like a concert. Light plays, fun music , a hyped crowd. Make it glamorous, luxurious and fun. Yet a little scandalous, it’s lingerie after all. let

Frfr. They could’ve done that with the new inclusive body direction they were taking. Have the same vibes they had back then with the new inclusive body models but they tried making a ‘cinematic’ film instead which was lacking the unique VS vibe and it really disappointed me🤦🏾♀️

Yes - what made the VS models iconic was not their bodies alone. It was the branding; the hair, the posture/walk, the makeup, the theme, the femininity, the joyful vibe. You could instantly tell a VS model from any other underwear model - they had a very specific look and style. The new models are beautiful, but they lost the brand value that people loved about it. Now it seems like every other brand out there.
@@langamabhena9017 The same philosophy that goes into “being inclusive” isn’t just going to change who the models are. It changed the styling, the makeup, the footwear, the standards are lower as well on everything.
People complained that the hair styles weren’t inclusive enough because people would say “that’s not my hair type therefore it’s not inclusive.”
Enough already.
Back to the time when the show felt like a fairy tale.
Until the PC culture killed it. Used to be a great show

the backlash more so came from the misogynist things happening behind the scenes -- which included these very models being encouraged to have eds. especially since during the time a lot of the men who worked behind the scenes publicly went out of their way to say that girls who didn't look like them weren't beautiful enough to be on the runway.

It DOES have to do with politics. Look up why they stopped the show - it was a lot of woke bash lash. Brands now try to be as inclusive as possible by being bland and unassuming as possible. Why they didn't just hire someone like Ashley Graham and make glamorous clothes for big women is beyond me. The 2000s media like Perez Hilton was awful but the clothes and vibe was soooo feminine and sexy. And the clothes the celebs wore were actually attainable! Brands they were a couple hundred tops not thousands.

VS Shows used to be SO GOOD! They definitely destroyed themselves when celebrities became the models and EVERY segment was with live singers...I adore the music and remixes they used up until 2014...it went downhill after that!
