I'm 30, went through maybe 15+ jobs, dropped out of college three times, hated the world for being like it is, lived in fear of failure, got addicted to some bad things, and I've only now learned how to love myself and others despite all the flaws and be happy. Yea, even I had trouble trying to find the 3 clips here, spent hours sleuthing through TH-cam search, reddit threads and the discord. Could of been a longer comp but I couldn't find any more in a reasonable time.

I always like watching various moments from Jerma streams to cheer me up, but this one I really needed.
It helped me realize that people put so much emphasis on age and achieving things by certain ages. But it really doesn't matter. I'll get there when I get there.

I can’t tell if I’m happier than I was because of life advice Jeremy or disappointed he didn’t find a random zenis on the wall and immediately get stunlocked by it
Ive had a very very hard life so far. But jerma has always been a bright spot for me. The other day for instance, i was so miserable i was having thoughts again and i decided to watch jerma to see if it would help and it did. I laughed for 40 straight minutes at the pacman incident, to the point where my stomach hurt. This man is seriously a blessing. Im so grateful i get to suffer in a time where jerma exists. It makes it heaps more tolerable. Thanks Jeremy.

This was oddly posted at a good time for me. As someone who just lost a pet yesterday, I've been just going through it for the week. And just worrying about doing things in life, and him saying just don't rush through life is a slap in the face for me lol. No need to stress yourself over things you feel like you need to do/learn as fast as possible. Heck, even when I talk to my mom she always told me not to rush things and just do them when you're ready, so I feel like there is something behind that. Didn't know I needed some inspirational Jerma till now.

My cat of 19 years I knew at some point it was gonna happen, he would be gone...but just like Jerma said you're really just not ready when it hits. And it's so hard to watch your pet decline in health as they get older and there isn't really much you can do but just be by them. And for many including me, pets are family and that cat was one of the best things to be apart of my life and it's just crushing to see him go...

Genuinely needed this. recently changed career paths after a failed go at medical coding, went to a shitty 2 year program, wasted money and time on a degree i cant even use, ended up back in shitty food service work anyway. I decided on a whim, ill go thru with phlebotomy training and become a phleb. tech, draw blood for a living because im not uncomfy w/ needles anymore due to being on HRT for so long lol. So i thought i could use that to make the blood drawing/injection process more comfy for people.
I panicked bc i thought it was too late to change. Too late to make a decision like this. But im only 23, i have so much time. this vid helped me feel better

Well, this video came at the perfect time. "Everybody thinks that their 20's is the end" is a sentiment that's been haunting me for quite a while, and it hasn't helped that things have gotten quite a lot worse for me mentally since I entered my 20's. Really thought I would manage uni too, but just a year in and 2024 has so far been my lowest point in life, mainly due to stress and what I did to cope with it. Done my best to get help, finally, but I wish I'd done so sooner.

Life has been pretty good lately, still I get this feeling from time to time that I am wasting my time, not chasing my dreams enough, not living every second. There's so much pressure in the world and I'm glad we can hear some comforting words here. I hope I get to make my dreams come true one day, as well as all of you people here. Maybe not today, but I'm striving to be at least 1% better in some area or another every time I wake up
I miss him so much, but I’m so thankful for everything he gave us
Jerma is a fantastic and talented guy, I'd be lying if I said he wasn't someone that should even be admired as a role model, but it feels kinda reductive to get advice from a charismatic, conventionally attractive person who was born in a first world country and seemingly hasn't had to struggle for much.
I hope his advice helps whoever it needs to help, and if his words resonate with you then I'm quite glad, but it rings hollow for the most part, at least from where I'm standing.
I totally get what you mean since that's how I feel about a lot of other celebrities, but I would say it does hit a little different coming from Jerma.
Like he may be conventionally attractive now, but all those people clown on his height for a reason, and he's told stories about how being a short scrawny kid got him bullied a lot in school, which is what motivated him into getting into the gym and into comedy. Not to mention his chronic pain that's either from or added to his other health problems.
And he can be pretty charismatic sometimes, but let's not forget all the Worst Jokes and streams he tries that actually did flop. Not to say he's uncharismatic, just that the difference is how well someone can bounce back after completely humiliating themselves. Which is what I personally find inspiring.
And finally, while I can't speak much for his financial background (he seemed to have been relatively comfortable on that front from what I can infer) I think the part of his story a lot of people relate to his how he got his college degree from an apparently incompetent program that he couldn't use to get a job for years after graduation. But he was still able to use some of the skills he learned to put towards his Youtubing hobby/passion which eventually blossomed into a career. His main point being that the 20s are a small part of people's lifespan, and many people do tend to thrive afterwards despite what pop media tells us.
I can't speak for your experiences either but I hope everything works out for you. While my 20s haven't been ideal, they've still been infinitely better than my teens, which I hope means something at least.
I like that, in spite of not really being able to relate possibly to people in a really bad place, he did his best to say something meaningful and helpful. I think in some of my worst spots part of what kept me there was thinking about failure, and I think being told to slow down might have helped.
i don't understand how someone's words should mean less because of where they come from or where they currently stand tbh. jerma has had plenty of struggles in his life and that's what he's speaking on. just because he can't speak on like the worst of the worst doesn't mean what he's saying less meaningful.
i by no means mean this from a personal standpoint btw. if thats how you feel personally thats okay but i genuinely think its disrespectful to people to say "look where you are now? you shouldnt speak on this, you dont KNOW struggles like others". its fucked up.

I understand you like Jerma and feel the need to defend him, but I really don't mean what I said as an insult or even as a way to invalidate what he said, it's just my opinion on the topic, completely subjective and filtered purely through my point of view.

There is KIND OF a formula I found to work:
Follow your excitement to the best you can and work on it for as long as you can, whatever it may be the thing is it has to be exciting to do (for you) no matter how stupid it seems or even if it seems like it won't "pay the bills". And the second thing is building on that: You can't have any expectation for the outcome. If you for example make music with the expectation of becoming rich or getting a girl, you do not only set yourself up for disappointment, but also (like jerma said) you miss all the opportunities that come with following your excitement for the purpose of being excited only.
And after that watch synchronicity happen. It's one of those things you cant believe or explain really until you feel and see it happen in your own life.
And following your excitement without expectation doesn't seem like a hard thing to at least try to do, if you feel like you don't believe it can work.
Never insist on anything if it doesn't feel exciting to you. This way you will also find habits and behaviours you don't want to keep.
Now go get excited!

Thanks so much for saying this, since I am still in a place myself where I seem to need validation. If you ever feel lost again, I can recommend (and I know it's going to be weird) looking up "bashar" on youtube. It's where I got this formula. I wasn't open to it for a long time, but after a while I started to believe in what I feel is real instead of what people want to tell you is real. Starting to shift into a mindset where I can allow myself to believe that I don't need to struggle with money anymore. Let's see what will happen once many people awake to this and start to really question all these bills we pay to "invisible" people. Anyway, I ramble on... keep on keeping on!

I don’t watch his stream, all I know is his wholesome personality and he is beloved, I’ve only seen some twitch clips on youtube, but I know Jerma is the coolest person I’ve seen.
Not saying that he should or pushing him to do so, but now that he is "retired" I think it's kinda fitting for him to do content that's more aligned to giving advice or of the same sort. It would be nice, but it's all up to him.
