Our soundbar actually came with several different cords & cables. We followed the instructions exactly and nothing. Tried the listed alternate methods and nothing. Looked at three different videos on youtube and nothing. Called the guy we bought it from at best buy and followed his instructions. Still nothing. We were about to say forget it and take it back to the store when I found your video. We went to walmart, bought the optical cable you told us to get, connected it, turned on the power, and it worked perfectly! You are our hero!! Many, many thanks!

A 75 inch Samsung TV, with a top of the line 9/2 Onkyo theater unit, new Klipsch sound bar and Sub and speakers with a new Bluray. I have watched other videos and just end up being overwhelmed and confused. I learned more watching your video than I have anywhere else. And now I know how to hook up this sound bar because of you. Thank you for your video. Worked 2 hours and got sound from cell to play through 3.5 mm jack only. My neighbor suggested trying TH-cam and yours was exactly what I needed to know. Dfc wire. At least they should mention this in the instructions.

please tell me you did not get the same sound bar I do not recommend it please snap a picture of your TV console and its plugins that way you can match up with the sound by your buying good luck
+Cisco G I got a Sanyo Soundbar. I still haven't figured out how to hook it up. I did go buy the digital audio fiber optical cable. All my hook ups are totally different than the soundbar you have and the TV and I can't figure out how to hook it to the back of the TV. I've got several things that need fixed around here, so I've hired a guy to come do these things tomorrow and he said he knows how to hook up a soundbar too?? He was supposed to come today, but can't make it until tomorrow. We'll see if he can achieve this. I swear, it should be against the friggin' law to sell items and not include the parts that make it work. Makes me CRAZY!!!

just to let you know how much your video had an impact on me is that I just bought a "Sony" sound bar with subwoofer model HCT80 and it DID come with the connection cord. it also looks like the fibre optic one you just showed us. if it hadn't come with I would have had the knowledge to get the cable from Walmart as well where I bought my unit. thanks for making my life so much easier

I just bought a "Sylvania" 32" flat screen for my room mate's birthday and she has a "Toshiba" 24" and for my life can't seem to hook up my "old" Altec Lansing and make it work. now that you've shown me the digital out jack I.m thrilled but still can't use this with my earphone jack for my old system. also, I always thought all good sounding systems needed subwoofers for great sound but this bar of yours seems to give all deep great bass sounds as well as highs. I can't wait to one day buy this soundbar to have her hear great sound as well .thanks NL

You are awesome!! I watched your video twice and was able to install my sound bar in 6 minutes! I was so dissatisfied with the sound on my Samsung TV that my next step was going to be to return it. I am hearing impaired and the treble was driving me crazy. After installing the soundbar, the bass kicked in immediately and I can even hear with my air conditioner blasting away!! Thanks, Cisco G. Sanyo TV? Well there's only one thing you can do if you really want the hook up, buy a New TV for Christmas! Or worse case try to hook it up with the other wires good luck!
nateroo, for your first question yes I am using a DOC cable... (Some come clear or transparent some come Black, Don't know why?) When you plug it into your TV you are suppose to hear a clicking noise also in your sound bar that magic button is suppose to be set to the "Optical In" setting not the "AUX In" or the "Line In" make sure it is the "Optical In". I am not sure if your sound bar has this option but that is what you are suppose to set it to when using a DOT cable. By using a DOT cable you get much better quality sound than using a regular RCA cable. (Those are the cables that have Red and White at the ends) I hope this helps... Remember people everything you buy isn't compatible. When I buy things especially electronics I take a picture of whatever it is I am going to buy for at home and compare them to what I need at the store. It saves time and and money (Because as soon as you turn your vehicle on there goes money out your tail pipe! and other reasons) and not to mention lots of frustrations.. Cisco out, Peace!

My son had a soundbar in the house he used for gaming on his laptop. anyway, I hooked it up to this tv and it would not turn off or mute volume control with the set. I am planning to do like you did and get the one from Wal-Mart.

I give things and people a second chance that is it) get a better one I recommend a Vizio it's much better quality and only $70-$80 bucks. Thank God I remembered to share that. and please always remember to take a photo of the hook-ups in the back of your TV for referance to buy and match electronics. Thank you so very much for your help! With your instruction, I was able to properly connect my sound bar to my smart TV. Initially, I was also trying to use the audio cable that had the red and the white plug-ins, but I never had any luck. But since I also had the same sound bar as you, I knew this had to work. My Initial mistake was not removing all of the tips. But with the flashlight I was able to locate and see the square digital optical audio jack so once I saw that and plugged it in I was so happy I got sound! Yippee!

Great hints Cisco, I'm about to go down that path myself - Someone mentioned about wireless connection, I think you can do that via blue tooth without involving the internet. .
+Stephen Parkinson Thanks and yes you can go wireless however these cheap speakers I had were not blue tooth. I got better ones and turned those junk in they started making a funny whistling noise before the 30 days they sounded nice at first as you can hear on my video. Basically I did this video fooling around because I'm practicing to make tons more after my last week of collage this week. I ran into a guy that was on the Howard Stern show and he wants me to video record him in Boston. So watch out for my You-tube channel in the next month or so. I am also videotaping a Hunter plus myself shooting my crossbow at turkeys! lol I know you didn't have to hear al that but I'm just throwing it out there. Nice! That audio left and right connection that you said failed, I'm thinking that's because the HDMI into your TV does not feed the audio left and right. That I believe is fed via a RF cable connection, which next to no one uses anymore!!

This didn’t work for my tv. Grrr. If I figure it out I’ll post an update to help others. Ok if you have an LG tv you need to go into settings and select the device connector and follow the steps there. If this doesn’t help do a search for connecting a sound bar to an LG tv. Aronka Broadhurst One more thing Miss Broadhurst don't I repeat don't get the sound-bar I installed in this video (I had major problems with it and took it back twice! I give things and people a second chance that is it) get a better one I recommend a Vizio it's much better quality and only $70-$80 bucks. Thank God I remembered to share that. and please always remember to take a photo of the hook-ups in the back of your TV for referance to buy and match electronics. I mentioned this before trust me it will save you time, money and a trip to the Doctors because of your frustration's, high blood pressure, anxieties and head aches... lol "All true stories" -Cisco

Thank you so very much for your help! With your instruction, I was able to properly connect my sound bar to my smart TV. Initially, I was also trying to use the audio cable that had the red and the white plug-ins, but I never had any luck. But since I also had the same sound bar as you, I knew this had to work. My Initial mistake was not removing all of the tips. But with the flashlight I was able to locate and see the square digital optical audio jack so once I saw that and plugged it in I was so happy I got sound! Yippee!

This helped me realize the smallest things I didn’t do. I had to change the source on the sound bar. It was set to Aux instead of optical.

GOT THE VIZIO 2.1 WITH SUB WOFFER AND THE FIBER OPTIC CABLE WAS INCLUDED WITH IT I WAS SHOCKED... IT SOUND PRETTY DARN GOOD GREAT SOUND THANKS THIS VIDEO MADE IT VERY EASY TO HOOK IT UP I WAS GOING TO TRY RCA FIRST BUT THIS WORKED FINE PEACE MAN

Great hints Cisco, I'm about to go down that path myself - Someone mentioned about wireless connection, I think you can do that via blue tooth without involving the internet. .
+Stephen Parkinson Thanks and yes you can go wireless however these cheap speakers I had were not blue tooth. I got better ones and turned those junk in they started making a funny whistling noise before the 30 days they sounded nice at first as you can hear on my video. Basically I did this video fooling around because I'm practicing to make tons more after my last week of collage this week. I ran into a guy that was on the Howard Stern show and he wants me to video record him in Boston. So watch out for my You-tube channel in the next month or so. I am also videotaping a Hunter plus myself shooting my crossbow at turkeys! lol I know you didn't have to hear al that but I'm just throwing it out there. Amazingly simple to my “no sound” issue! Instructions omitted the part where you need to remove the itybity clear caps on the Digital Audio cable 🤦🏼♀️
Nice! That audio left and right connection that you said failed, I'm thinking that's because the HDMI into your TV does not feed the audio left and right. That I believe is fed via a RF cable connection, which next to no one uses anymore!!

( no sound ) ..watched your vid and switched out RCA To Optic cable and ...BOOM !! 💥 I have Great Sound!! This didn’t work for my tv. Grrr. If I figure it out I’ll post an update to help others.
Ok if you have an LG tv you need to go into settings and select the device connector and follow the steps there. If this doesn’t help do a search for connecting a sound bar to an LG tv.
