I started playing the trombone in the mid-fifties inspired by Chris Baber and his wonderful band which has changed over the years but has always carried the Chris Barber spirit. Now 77, I still play Trad Jazz in Brazil and it is an immense joy to be able to watch and listen to Chris Barber's music. He is a legend of Trad Jazz.
Went with my dad to see Chris Barber at the Royal Festival Hall in 1954. I was hooked then and I still am. Chris is a legend. At 88 this year, he deserves a rest but I just bet he'll keep going because he loves his jazz.

He retired in September 2019 - 89 !!!
