"Peak Bagging" Eno River State Park, Cox Mountain Trail

I use the term peak bagging very, very loosely.
Cox Mountain sits at a whopping elevation of 875 feet.
The climb is approximately 400-ish feet, depending on which way you do the loop.
It's not the most scenic trail the Eno River State Park offers but we haven't been on the trail for a while so we thought we'd check it out.
There is a lot of history in the area and many trails offer old homesites, cemeteries and other interesting artifacts of those that inhabited the area years before.
This trail tends to be the busiest we've been on for a while at the Eno.
We drive over an hour to hike in this park. We do not have much to offer locally and I love the water and the peace the park offers while we're there.
We'll definitely be back, especially with fall being just around the corner.
