I'VE NEVER HEARD ANYONE AS GOOD AS ANTHONY WARLOW. EVERYTHING HE EVER DID WAS PERFECT.
No matter how many times I hear that INCREDIBLE voice, I literally get chills. Anthony Warlow is the best of the best.
Anthony Warlow always proves that his is the perfect male voice.
I met Anthony last week & we chatted all things DZ, as well as a project close to my heart, for about 15 minutes. He is one of the loveliest people I've ever met - very generous & gracious & a thorough gentleman. He engages totally with you in conversation as though you're the only person in the world - something I've heard others say who have met him. Can still remember his eyes looking at me like that - not because I was anyone special but just because that's the man he is. So blessed!

Definitely! I have the Broadway recording but the Australian production which I have heard courtesy of You Tube is far superior.

This has to be one of the most moving love songs ever written, and these voices, this interpretation is pure perfection. I'm getting to where I don't want to listen very often because I want it to remain special to me. I don't want to ever be used to the powerful rush of feelings it unleashes.

I've met Lucy on several occasions at a variety of her shows & like Anthony, she is just a delight - always warm & extremely encouraging. I've travelled to many cities just to see her perform & will continue to do so because of her amazing gift & beautiful spirit. In March 2013 I had the absolute honour to sing a few lines with her father, the very talented Stuart Maunder, with her mother accompanying us in their family show "The Sound of Rodgers" - what a privilege! Such a talented family!

absolutely fantastic, brilliant, magical experience. Anthony Warlow has to be one of the best ever, and I will be watching for more of Lucy in the years to come as well, she has a perfect voice that compliments Anthony so well in this musical.

Saw this for the second time in two weeks today. An exceptional cast and Anthony Warlow and Lucy Maunder were absolutely outstanding. Their voices blend together superbly and the story and lyrics took me to a tragic but beautiful place in time. Your spirit can't help but soar when you hear this stunning version of a passionate ballad. Bravo to all involved at every level in bringing this to Brisbane. Out of dozens of musicals I've attended, and two others with Anthony, this is my favorite.

Absolutely, the all time superstar of Australian Musicals. And IMHO, and Marina Pryor is he Queen !
I STILL come back every day and watch this - it's like a slice of musical heaven - and the most magnificent piece of music I've ever heard. The blending of lyrics and score is superb and there will never be a more perfect harmony of voices than these two - their rapport is tangible and brings so much depth of feeling to their performance. With their voices, the wonderful orchestration and Kellie's excellent musical direction, this is by far the best music compilation of all time.

Amazing musical! I saw it in Melbourne few days ago... Actors, music, lyrics...everything is perfect!
So exciting to see this is opening on Broadway in April 2015. Now just to get Actor's Equity to open the floodgates so Lucy can get the chance to play Lara again - along with more of her mates joining her on one of the most famous stages of all. I can't imagine anyone else bringing the heartbreaking passion and exquisite fragility that she brought to that role in Australia in 2011. A hugely talented Aussie cast performing a fabulous story line with lyrics underpinned by the best score of all. #alwaysbattingonlucysteam

I love this song, and I especially a door Anthony Warlow’s voice. It isn’t a surprise that this musical is written by Lucy Simon, her musicals are wonderful. I wish this song with these two singers was on iTunes, I would seriously get it.

I travelled from NZ to Aus just to see this show- it was worth every penny. It's such a gorgeous show and Anthony Warlows voice is like chocolate-just perfect. :)
Obo my sister, Merilyn. "I am 66 years old and have been involved in and enjoyed music for all my life. I have seen many many musicals but I have never been so moved by the words and music of any as I have with this one. If possible, I would see it every week. It is all encompassing and any lover of music should not miss the opportunity to see this. I believe it will become a worldwide phenomenom."

@thatoperaguy - It was superb - I've been involved in amateur musical theatre years ago and so music is in my blood. This production was the pinnacle as far as I'm concerned. The score was haunting, the lyrics heart-breaking and Anthony's and Lucy's voices truly were exquisite. I saw it four times and would see it every week until ... I've seen many shows, three with Anthony, but he WAS Yuri and Lucy WAS Lara. Wouldn't have missed it for the world ...
This is IMHO the best song in the show. Warlow is the KING of all musical performers. I am so glad he lives here in Sydney but we want MORE !!!!!

Back here once again to be swept to my own edge of time - *sigh* - cannot get enough of this song - makes my heart ache every time.
I saw this show in Melbourne and in the back of the program was a FULL PAGE ad with details of how to PRE-ORDER YOUR ALBUM NOW! Months later it was announced that the project was shelved indefinitely due to "legal reasons" - basically it needed to be signed off by dozens of Pen Pushers. Only a few refused to sign off, so the project was cancelled :(
oh the stellar performance of the show, amongst many other beautiful tunes. Absolutely flawless performance as always by Warlow.
Disappointed the full CD wasn't done and hoping a piano vocal score book will be released!
Definitely the gem from this musical. I love their warm and affectionate partnership. I'd love to see more of them !

After meeting Anthony, on Monday night I sat in an intimate venue to witness the mesmerising stage presence of Lucy as she performed her own love letter to Irving Berlin "Songs in the Key of Black". Her voice is like liquid chocolate, oozing into every pore of your soul. Check out her new album of the same title on iTunes. Lucy's stage presence surrounds you as goosebumps dance across your body. Now she proves an intimate piano bar is just as much her world as a vast musical theatre stage.
As a fan of Lean's epic, I thought I would never accept another song to represent the story after Lara's Theme, but On The Edge Of Time is so beautiful and haunting, I had no hesitation. Finally, a new traditional musical! I sighed all the way through it.
I would just like to say I only heard of this because someone I know in Australia sent me the link... Im am in love with this!! It better come to the UK, it's beautiful :)xx
Tam Mutu is nowhere near the singer Warlow is. He even got sick last week, and they had to cancel the whole show because the understudy hadn't rehearsed yet. Why would they not bring Anthony over. He's been so ignored by the US music theater scene all his life. He's the greatest music theater singer of all time, in my opinion, and he's never really played on Broadway. I wonder why.

organboi He did get to play Warbucks in the most recent Broadway revival of Annie, and now he's currently taking over for Kelsey Grammer in Finding Neverland.

@thatoperaguy - Hi, Yuri & Lara sang it to each other in their bedroom after he came back from being taken by the Red Army & they were living in the ice mansion. At the end of the musical, as Lara & their daughter stood beside his graveside, Lara began to sing another two verses (not these ones) and came to the front of the stage where his spirit joined hers as they sang together of how their love would always be "on the edge of time" and his light would always shine. Just exquisite.

@AmazedbyHisgrace11 - Only on stage unfortunately - they were going to make an Original Aussie Cast Recording but it fell through. It's by far my favourite musical of all and I've seen dozens... Their voices blend together so perfectly. Great Aussie talent! By the way, love your "signature" :)

@AmazedbyHisgrace11 - by the way, I read in a magazine the other day an article from John Frost, the Australian producer, that it's probably going to Scandinavia and Germany next, and possibly USA after that. (And it's playing in Korea at the moment but with a Korean cast instead of the original.) Anthony Warlow has been contracted to it for five years so hopefully he'll be the one in all of those productions.
@sgdaniel73 Yes you all have a great talent pool! Two of my favorites, Anthony Warlow and Phillip Quast!!!! I currently reside in Atlanta, born and raised, but New York is one of my favorite places ever!!! :-) Hope to be there soon!
@jmfrunner - From what I've read the Australian version is different in a few respects to the original US one - they've updated a lot of it to fit the original storyline and set better, which was happening right up until it reached Brisbane on it's Australian tour - that's why it's now called Dr Zhivago - A New Musical. Also, the song "To Light the New Year" isn't in this production.

@sgdaniel73 I LOVE Les Miserables it is definately in my top 5. Enjolras is my fave character...not just he was at one time played by Anthony Warlow lol. Wow that's great for your friend! Phantom of the Opera is my favorite show of all time bar none. I've seen it like 8 times. :) I've watched a few of the videos on here from the Aus cast. I wish they would make a recording of that cast. I've yet to find a cd version of the show where I'm wild about all of the lead actors, save for the Aus cast!

@EverlastingGreed It started in the United States at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2006 (with a page-to-stage performance a year or two earlier). I'd love a recording of "To Light the New Year." I can still remember a few bars...

I was speaking to Anthony after his final performance in 'Annie' here in Australian four years ago and he said then that sadly he felt he was too old to play the role of Yurii again. Such a shame as the score was written especially for him by Lucy Simon after she saw him in The Secret Garden back in 1995 here in Brisbane, Australia. He was the perfect Yurii in my opinion and no one can come close to Lucy Maunder's interpretation of Lara - just exquisite.

The thing that REALLY REALLY upsets me about these Dr Z videos is they are undeniable proof that the recordings WERE MADE but they will never be released on CD?????
@propatria0704 Nothing Russian? They spoke of Russian history, they lived through it...talking about the Tzar and his family's murder...the reds taking over...the musical is excellent, I saw it yesterday and even though I was one of the youngest audience members, I did love it a lot

Why is Warlow not in the Broadway production. My guess is that he thought it might fail in New York. But that's just a guess.

Lyrics are pretty crumby saw it in Sydney and needed so much more rewriting, very episodic and not nearly as awesome as Secret garden score.
