I love that the film showed several Egyptian guards leaving with the Hebrews, showing that there were good Egyptians who didn't like what they were doing.
It also correlates with the biblical narrative. And who can blame them? Their monarch essentially let the entire nation fall within the span of a few weeks due to his “stubbornness and pride” according to a previous song in this movie.
And what’s even more heartwarming, the hebrews let them come with them. No revenge, no hard feelings. Just “let’s go and build a brighter future together.”
Anybody listen to this and cry from how beautiful it is? I am pregnant with my first child and the father has abandoned me and I’m so afraid, but this song gives me hope that I can do this.
May god bless you and grant you and your baby immense strength and happiness for all hurdles life may offer, it is a tough world but our lord god is loving and kind. He shall tend to your every need amen
I hope you're okay, wherever you are. May you take care of yourself, and others, as much as you can. I pray that whatever happens to you, may you fight the Good Fight of Faith. May you stay safe and strong out there. May God Bless you. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have Mercy upon us, sinners.
Keep in mind my brother in Christ , Satan is turning this world against god and Christ . We must stay strong and keep praying to the most high for strength .
Movies back then were absolutely magical in storytelling and scope. The beautiful scores were final icing on the cake 🎂. There's no magic or inspiration anymore 😢, seems to be all political and personal agendas and corporate profit. I've noticed that most movie scores sound very generic with "NO" hearts or emotions. I really want to bringing the back those types of movies that I grew up with ever since I was toddler and younger ages in 2000s era with more "Absolutely Magical", "Storytelling" and "Scope". Even more "Heart and Emotion". There totally needs to be a time when humans really need to make a "True" animated movie that touched the soul and heart of the viewers of all ages. Somebody hand-drawn and computer animation, it's not just the movies, TV shows as well for all ages on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, and the Walt Disney company needs to take there place in the circle of animations shows and movies for everyone. I hope sometimes in the future, My family would see the newspaper or different articles on the internet of their own cellphones 📱 about I finally got my dream job as "Ian Cassidy save the Walt Disney Company for bringing the 2-D animated style in order pay homage and tribute to past Disney's 2-D animated style movies were made in old glory days". "Ian Cassidy made his promise to have more Magic and/or Inspiration from 2-D animated movies from Disney."Walt Disney Company made an agreement with Ian Cassidy to have Disney's 2-D animated style movies to have music to be more Heart and Emotion with Absolutely Magical, Storytelling and Scope as well". "The Walt Disney Company celebrated Ian Cassidy's birthday party for being our Savior of bringing the old school Disney 2-D animated style movies." I'm thinking Disney stuff never meant always for kids, it's for everyone, mostly adults, back in the day, same with Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry, unlike nowadays. Everything is for kids and family. Movies back then taught us about the importance of friendship, loyalty, kindness, compassion, determination, etc. A lot of movies do that, but there are still some good ones. The main ones that are awful to me are intentionally bad just for money, a cash grab. 😒 Cause The old Disney movies were so awesome. I had a little dark things that you don't see now those days in Disney movies. Movies still have an important message, though, but the movies are too sweet. There's a video Looney Tunes that they are soft and not that dangerous silliness we know. Because it's saver for the kids? I mean I can understand kids now those days are misunderstanding and would do anything for likes and views but making the cartoons soft won't change the fact that they grow up to be misunderstood, they become uncaring anyways because of the internet. People became too soft, with real snowflakes. Wow, I really missed the good old days when Cartoons were good. Today, it's a quick cash grab, with the use of effects and big names in the movies. I love the storytelling part, the sending a message to the audience, that's what should be, the soul and heart needs to come back in films and Hollywood became too powerful, meaning they can get away with making bad movies. Back then, movies had individualist them. Today, it's about ideas like social justice and feminism. Those ideas take away from the true hero's journey and make it difficult to identify with the characters. This is the reason so many people nowadays just stick with the older movies, and the ones grew up with them because that's precisely what those kinds of movies did for them. They were heartfelt, funny, for all the ages, full of value, and are consistently good every time you watch them. While one of the purposes was the company to make money, they still wanted to deliver a quality product to the viewers, and it feels like they've lost that. We took for granted 💔 how well animated movies in the 1990s and 2000s were, outside the animation being revolutionary for its time, the writing was also well written that even being 30. I can still watch movies like Ice Age (2002) and actually enjoy them. Yes, and a lot have avoided those powerful, morally complex stories in favor of something safer. Sure, the effects look amazing, but the heart isn't there anymore, The Toy Story series is an exception because all fours are capable of rivaling each other. Who says that Disney movies are just for kids? Adults can watch it as well, They have some life lessons which apply to both kids and adults. For example, what do we learn from The Little Mermaid, from my perspective, that movie learned us that never sell yourself to an evil person, also if the deal is bad, don't take it. What about Cinderella? It taught us that dreams can come true and that no matter with circumstances, they are always good and kind. What about Pocahontas? Love conquer all, and one must find their own way, other movies that have powerful messages, and excellent music. Nowadays, everything must be political ,which is sad and heartbreaking 💔. I definitely want to bring it back for my dream job in the future. Movies today are made to appeal to as wide an audience as possible and make as much money as possible. Back in the day, while profit and marketability were important, producers and directors had more freedom to be creative and make movies that were original, innovative, and memorable. People think it's all nostalgia goggles and being unfair to modern movies, but no. It's all the value and quality of the movies back then, the delivery, lessons, everything all that is gone nowadays. Technology creates the story these days, not the soul of the writer. Like how back in the old good days, we didn't over-analyze anything. We just sat back and enjoyed stuff. 😉 Animated movies are not like what they once were. The effort, the details, and the passion just aren't there anymore in modern animated movies, really sad. Movies nowadays are made by algorithms, not people. Today's cartoons don't have as many good, fun, and exciting masterpieces as the old cartoons. Too political... everything has to have "a message"... and the sense of pure fun is missing. I also find alot of movies nowadays try to be comedy's with over the top cringey dialogue and try way to hard to be funny, Not everybody wants to be laughing throughout the entirety of the movie (Or so they expect us to be laughing). It seriously is heartbreaking to see all that hard work and time people put into a film only for it to be completely thrown out near the end because studio executives lost faith in it. I can't imagine how frustrating that is. We don't want or need a joke every two seconds. Just give us a movie where the serious scenes don't get ruined by an out of place joke. That's not how movies should be made. Technology is supposed to simplify our lives and should not mean taking responsibilities away from us altogether. Box Office movies nowadays wouldn't even hold a candle even to a classic cartoon like This (The Land Before Time) in terms of depth and feel. Those big hits feel like they are just watched because of their name brand, not because of the quality itself at all. Once you watch them, they make you feel like you just wasted your time leading up to it and the huge money of it, too. That's why I feel like a winner when I don't watch the movies of this decade or even the past decade.
@@Thebroshow13 Walt Disney said, "If you can dream it, you can do it, and don't let anybody say you can't." This is my biggest dream goal of bringing the 2-D animated style from Disney once again, and I'll save Hollywood for stopping all this ridiculous madness.
The scene at the 3:00 mark always makes me cry. The elderly woman is struggling to walk and deep down knows that she won't finish the journey. But as soon as the young girl grabs her hand, she looks down with so much happiness because she realizes that the little girl will grow up with a better life than she did. She continues to smile at the little girl for the rest of the scene. This, I feel, sums up the story of most immigrants. They grew up with so many struggles and are willing to sacrifice their own lives to ensure their children and grandchildren will grow up safe and happy.
This character has a development too in the film when they are crossing the sea the little girl gets scared but the old lady reminds her that she is safe like the girl told her earlier. No words used just pure gestures and genuis❤❤❤❤
@@garyshapiro5196 I wouldn't mind being a part of the group. It's better than being a slave or servant to that spoiled brat pharaoh who had everything handed to him and never worked for anything in his life.
Agreed! In my search, I skipped over the pop version for the movie version. The scenes make it even more powerful. And the emotion that’s evoked from the different voices : from the two strong, yet solemn harmonizing women, the cheerful children praising God (reminds me of what it says in the Word about having childlike faith), to the victorious crowds singing together. Just sublime and makes me cry every time
This is absolutely shit conoared to the absolute powerhouse goddess that is Whitney Houston. A singer that was literally nicknamed. The Voice. She was the personification of all music
No feeling can replace the way this scene and the song makes me feel everytime i listen to it. I feel pure joy and cry at the same time. Watching this cartoon when I was little is the best thing my parents ever did for me as a child. It always reminds me that whenever things aren't working out, all I have to do is believe that God got me always and forever.

I love when the children’s choir comes in. It reminds me of Psalm 8, “Out of the praise of children and infants you establish a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” It’s a rendition of the Song of the Sea, too, which is the actual original Hebrew song the Jews sang as they were leaving Egypt.
3:38.....i had a painful childhood and was alone all the time....but this scene always hold me togather i imagine that i am small kid playing with prophet Moses pbuh ❤
As a christian who thinks that most christian films and shows are garbage, I am so happy this film exists to be able to respect its story while also adapting it so well into film.
@@GenerationX1984 This also belongs to Christianity. This is part of both Judaism and Christianity, and Islam too for that matter. No reason to say otherwise
(I'm a Christian) I'm convinced that the problem with most poor quality Christian film is a lack of budget. Thankfully, this movie had some coinage behind it. It really is incredible to me the kind of art that faith inspired. Paintings, Film, Sculpture, Architecture, these are just SOME examples. And not just Christianity, but also Greek mythology, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, and a whole bunch of others. SO HOW COME THERE'S NEVER BEEN A HALF-DECENT FAITH-BASED VIDEO GAME BEFORE?? I mean, we agree that video games are a form of art, right? And there are SOME good films out there based on Christendom, but I've NEVER heard of a good pro-faith video game out there. From the early attempts by Wisdom Tree on the NES all the way to that one VR game I heard about a while back where you're supposed to "be" Jesus Christ (It's a first person perspective game. It drew early criticism because it felt like it circled around and was sacrilegious. Also, it apparently wasn't great.) I get that there are games LOOSELY BASED on various faiths that KIND OF were fun, but the "God of War" series was something that Greeks & Vikings, if they still worshipped that way today, would have felt were sacrilegious & blasphemous by their perspective. Heck, EVERY game based on such things has an excuse like that. So how come there's never been a good pro-faith-game? Somebody, please, answer me that? Honestly, if anyone can figure out how to do it right, it'd be super innovative, if nothing else.
it treats everyone with respect and dignity which is why it works better than most too many Christian works are about promoting themselves as superior and or degrading other beliefs and etc, and it comes off as childish, forced and etc. This film wasn’t out to preach superiority but to tell a story and the meaning behind it. As an atheist/pagan it is one of my favourite films and I’m not ashamed to say i value this as a teaching moment for the actual values of the bible; the good the bad and the hopeful.
This entire scene is powerful, but - Can we just talk about how the little girl hauling two grown oxen (@ 4:12) on her way to freedom is a straight boss?!
Miracles do happen. Never lose hope. God is with all of us. Also, it's good to see at least 2 Egyptians joining in, presumably seeing the error of their ways.
greninja 101 I imagine them saying “Let’s just go with them as far as the sea, make sure they’re alright” and then by the end of the film, they’re just like “Eh, why not? Let’s join their faith.”
@e bear Not true! You could join the Israelites and follow the one true God. You were just barred from certain participation in their holier rituals (such as not being able to go into the inner parts of the temple). The Bible has multiple accounts of pagans joining the tribe -- most notably Ruth, the Moabitess, who was so righteous/faithful in the eyes of God that she was granted the blessing of being part of the lineage of King David and of Jesus Himself.
Equality is so important there are many parallels between the time of enslavement of the lsrealites and today it's quite sad but if we believe that our God stands for love then we can overcome anything
The Lion King; I'm not sure it was, nor am I saying it's better, but it's right up there with The Prince of Egypt. Same composer, fantastic music, both songs and score, and a great story to boot. The Circle of Life, Be Prepared, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Hakuna Matata, are just a few to be named from this great work. I would consider The Little Mermaid to be a great Disney animated musical as well. I think it's too bad they don't make movies like this anymore.
It is beautiful how the child takes the old woman's hand to support her during happiness and the old woman takes the child's hand before the parting of the sea, being used to fear and hardship. We each have our different strengths. Some of us are used to hardship, others to happiness, and we can each add to each others' lives.
We need this song in our hearts and minds constantly, bc our faith will be tested more in the near future. The pandemic is just a warm up of things to come. Pray to be faithful to God no matter what happens. "Peace and goodwill to all..."
@@ulemuphiri8489 God tries to stop ppl from doing evil through our conscience, but ppl just dont want to listen. All the plagues would not have happened if the pharaoh just let the Israelites go in the first place.
I want to share my personal story. In spring of 2020 I was 25 years old, no job or money, few friends, living in my parents house while Covid was spreading. I was desperate and thinking of commit suicide. I was asking God for help in my heart and didn't even realise that. Then in August things started changing, I found a new job in great interesting city, found new friends and finaly earn enough money to live calm life. Now in 2022 I started to go to church and realise the God do love me and that all was showing me way to this point. Thank you Lord for showing me way, because it is true. There can be miracles, when you believe.
I hope you're okay, wherever you are. May you stay safe and strong out there. May you take care of yourself, and others, as much as you can. I pray whatever happens to you, may you fight the Good Fight and keep the Faith. God Bless you. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have Mercy upon us, sinners.
Hey, thanks for the likes. Yes, I am now a practicing dentist 😊 I should clarify that I'm an atheist. I believed in myself and kept persevering toward my goal, which is why I got in. I would not have gotten the same results with just prayer; that's a fact. That said, I don't doubt how impactful this song is, and this movie does have great visuals, etc.
I usually stay strong throughout the song up until 2:59 when the Hebrew children sing the Song of the Sea, to be followed by the adults who suffered how many years of being slaves to Egypt. That is when I have a tear come down every time.
I actually played in a musical version of this when I was younger. I played one of the kids and we were allowed to run in the church we performed it at. Still one of my best memories.
4:04 to the end got me feeling some kinda way, it just hits so different and I can't describe it in words, the chord changes are so majestic and the group singing all together is just so beautiful.

I love how the Hebrews don't mind the Egyptians joining them on the journey at all. You'd think that a few of them would be hellbent on getting revenge for all the pain and suffering they endured over the years.
What I love about this song is it can bring tears to your eyes but they're tears of happiness. This song also is the perfect song to listen to whenever you're upset it can just make you go from sad to happy within seconds. I love it so much.
This is the song I think my dad heard when he got to heaven and he finally got to meet his creator and everyone greeting him to a place without suffering.

I always loved this song as a kid, and even more so as an adult. A beautifully animated sequence accompanied by a beautiful choir. Heck, I love the harmony between Miriam and Tzipporah as well, very beautiful and it really tugs at the heartstrings. Plus, some of the visual cues are touching too, such as when we see a little girl reassuring an elderly lady before they leave. Another visual cue I liked was the brief exchange of smiles between Moses and Aaron, shows how that brotherly love is resurfacing.
Shine Ortiz you want to know what adds to the harmony between Miriam and tzipporah? I'll try to tell you in a way that will be easy. Tzipporah is a midianite, they are the ancestors of today's Arabs. You know, the biggest sworn enemy of today's Jews who have been fighting nonstop wars against each other. It's not just a scene where two people who are in laws that are embracing each other. It's two ethnic groups that have centuries of animosity between them that are joined by a common faith and are treating each other as family.

The scenery of all the Egyptian monuments is so well done. You just see this absolute behemoth of human civilization toppled like nothing by God and the Hebrews walking out completely unresisted. Also, if anyone is not already aware, but the cool thing about this scene is when the Israelites are walking to the Red Sea, it says in Exodus 15 that Miriam led them in song and dance, so this scene is actually somewhat accurate in that sense. The song the children are singing is also in Exodus 15. I am not sure specifically which parts they are singing because I do not speak Hebrew, but I know it is part of the canticle of Moses.
@@ulemuphiri8489 There is no one to blame for this but Pharoah. God gave him multiple chances, yet even after having the Nile turned into blood, having fire mixed with hail rained down upon everyone, having frogs invade the land, gnats, flies, lice, the livestock of Egypt die, people get boils on their skin, all the vegetation in Egypt dies out from locusts, and when Egypt was plunged into complete darkness so thick that it could be "felt", Pharoah still would not release the Israelites. God created life, and only he can take it away, and when his creation disobeys him to the point like Pharoah, God is sovereign and does not need the approval of mortal men to execute his divine judgement.
Keeping this song in mind and in my heart while my family moves..it's been a hard and stressful process but I have hope that the house we chose, the house that God chose for us, is the home He'll get us to because with God on our side, none can stand against us and we will have the Promised Land set aside for us~
Moses and the story of Exodus is the perfect example of how God can use one person at their lowest point to change the course of humanity. That’s amazing 😭😭😭
Reading this brought tears to my eyes. This is my favorite childhood film and it brings your point to home so perfectly: we can all be instruments to serve for the good of mankind even if we feel unworthy to heed the call or unprepared: we must have faith regardless

Danielle Luma because Mariah and Whitney sounded like a battle. 'Who's voice is bigger and better? Mine!' This version is two voices together that compliment and reinforce each other.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. The technical skill, the depth of character, the artistic and sound design. It touched me in a way the religions that teach these stories never did, it transends beyond just being for those who believe but as something that anyone can love deeply, to give hope and inspiration. I will show this to my children even if they choose like me not to believe or if they decide that this path is for them or even choose a completely different religion. I believe the themes of hope and strength even in the most desperate and dark of times is something they'll need as they grow up. Hard times are ahead for all reguardless of religion, I want to give them any amount of hope I can so maybe one day they can cross their own Red Sea and find their Promised Land.
have been listening to this song for the past week, my dog needed an MRI exam, which cost more then 500 euros and the doctor said it was urgent I was really sad not knowing how to get the money for his exams, I had 1euro in my bank account, believed that GOD would make a way, after leaving the bank tried to ask for a loan but got rejected, opened my bank account and found 1000 euros from 1 to 1000 EUROS, WHEN YOU BELIEVE SOMEHOW HE WINS FOR you , YOU WILL WHEN YOU BELIEVE I know life gets really hard and sometimes you just ask him why you are here, why so much pain, I get it, but I ask you to believe in him, he made you he knows what you need, TRUST HIM, without questioning, suddenly this song got another meaning to me :)

When the children start singing ... I lose it every time. Imagine being a child yet having your childhood forcefully stripped away from you and finally FINALLY you are free to reclaim and embrace the fullness, joy and beauty of your childhood. So many emotions!

As a christian who thinks that most christian films and shows are garbage, I am so happy this film exists to be able to respect its story while also adapting it so well into film.
Was it really a Christian film? The Old Testament is Jewish. It's only Christian if it has Jesus in it.
@@GenerationX1984 This also belongs to Christianity. This is part of both Judaism and Christianity, and Islam too for that matter. No reason to say otherwise
Is this a reference to Schaffrilas production dreamworks movie ranking video?
Also, it apparently wasn't great.)
I get that there are games LOOSELY BASED on various faiths that KIND OF were fun, but the "God of War" series was something that Greeks & Vikings, if they still worshipped that way today, would have felt were sacrilegious & blasphemous by their perspective. Heck, EVERY game based on such things has an excuse like that.
So how come there's never been a good pro-faith-game? Somebody, please, answer me that? Honestly, if anyone can figure out how to do it right, it'd be super innovative, if nothing else.
it treats everyone with respect and dignity which is why it works better than most
too many Christian works are about promoting themselves as superior and or degrading other beliefs and etc, and it comes off as childish, forced and etc.
This film wasn’t out to preach superiority but to tell a story and the meaning behind it.

I haven't seen this movie since I was kid, and decided to do a rewatch. (Watched a few DreamWorks gems actually.) The animation in this movie is absolutely stunning.
every time i listen and the Hebrew kids start singing, i always get chills
This song makes me have hope every time that I am so broke specially now.

I love how the Hebrews don't mind the Egyptians joining them on the journey at all. You'd think that a few of them would be hellbent on getting revenge for all the pain and suffering they endured over the years.
After the Ten plagues the Egyptians were on equal ground with the Hebrews, and by that point nothing mattered more than to have a better life.
What I love about this song is it can bring tears to your eyes but they're tears of happiness. This song also is the perfect song to listen to whenever you're upset it can just make you go from sad to happy within seconds. I love it so much.
Yeah, especially the whole tone of the song when it goes from slow and somber to upbeat and triumphant.

Many nights, we've prayed with no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts, a hopeful song
We barely understood
Now we are not afraid, although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains long before we knew we could...
There can be miracles when you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe
In this time of fear, when prayer so often proved in vain
Hope seemed like the summer birds too swiftly flown away
Yet now I'm standing here (now I'm standing here)
With heart so full, I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words I never thought I'd say

I cry a lot whenever I watch this video. When I miss anybody in my family exactly.
Many nights we've prayed. They have been praying for a long time

So God is a murderer?
I like how many more people joined in the song, showing that they had regained hope
I was so shook when I found out that Sandra Bullock voiced Miriam
what you talking about????
Alex Sandoval Sandra bullock voiced Miriam however her singing voice was different
@@shooterdownunder I always LOL a little that the singer didn't even attempt to sound like Bullock.
And yet the Blind Side made me a fan of her
Keeping this song in mind and in my heart while my family moves..it's been a hard and stressful process but I have hope that the house we chose, the house that God chose for us, is the home He'll get us to because with God on our side, none can stand against us and we will have the Promised Land set aside for us~
I lost it when the children started singing.. 😢
Tsipporah though was my biggest girl crush growing up tbh.
Moses was my biggest guy crush growing up XD

The harmonies in this song always give me chills.
This song and arrangement is even more beautiful than I remember. Those harmonies are so pure, so moving.
I cry literally every time I hear this
Moses and the story of Exodus is the perfect example of how God can use one person at their lowest point to change the course of humanity. That’s amazing 😭😭😭
Reading this brought tears to my eyes. This is my favorite childhood film and it brings your point to home so perfectly: we can all be instruments to serve for the good of mankind even if we feel unworthy to heed the call or unprepared: we must have faith regardless
Blessed are the people who BELIEVE! 🙏🏻

I love this better than the miriah and Whitney version

2:45 2 Egyptian guards decide to join them. I wonder if others did too

have been listening to this song for the past week, my dog needed an MRI exam, which cost more then 500 euros and the doctor said it was urgent I was really sad not knowing how to get the money for his exams, I had 1euro in my bank account, believed that GOD would make a way, after leaving the bank tried to ask for a loan but got rejected, opened my bank account and found 1000 euros from 1 to 1000 EUROS, WHEN YOU BELIEVE SOMEHOW HE WINS FOR you , YOU WILL WHEN YOU BELIEVE
