Still think your ban was one of the most unfair in the cycling history. For a start any championship on zwift should have forced everyone on the same bikes anyway.
@@timurpapba520 yes, his 'trainer difficulty is unfair' buddy told him about bot riding in zwift. Something like this. Cheating is cheating, his opposition manage to get the bike and be ready for competition. Harsh was ban from UCI, considering they let some people fly with more serious cheating.

Great pedals. Been running the Uno's for 4 years and they are very durable, a pleasure to interact with and the charging and app are very user friendly. The only slight negative is the weight. They aren't heavy but they aren't the lightest. But they are very high quality and well made and easy to use. They are paired with my Element ROAM.
Reckon you could've given yourself 20-30w for the on bike gains that have been found since then, rolling resistance of tyres, even aero of wheels at that speed etc, eeked it out a few more minutes before altitude kicked in. Great vid!
Good video, small suggestion to add your HR if possible to the graphics because I think it gives me a better indicator of how you are feeling than a face cam even.
I use the Assioma Duo Shi's, love them. I swap them between my indoor bike and road bike for consistency. Jesus that's some effort. Would have liked to see you complete the climb and your own average power for it. The most I've done for 2 mins is 470 watts, not bad for a 50 year old. 😊
Eh... Mine have been nothing but trouble. Power not consistent when it gets cold or wet. Maybe just unlucky but it's the same story with another person in our club.. No power meter brand is perfect.
I wanted to add something that people should know. Lance recently admitted during an interview that the EPO he was taking granted him an additional 50 watts during a climb such as Alp D'Huez. He said he puts out 450 when completely clean. Still impressive for sure, but i wanted everyone to know the reality of things.
Pantanis 1995 time is the quickest ever up the alpe and he went the wrong way at the last corner. Also armstrong was 18 minutes behind that day that was the real arsmtrong.
He was just a scapegoat at the time. Highly disrespected. He helped so many people BELIEVE that they can defeat their cancer. This is powerful stuff because the mind is incredibly mysterious. As a matter of fact, he helped me defeat my cancer. True story. Thank-you Lance.
I'm genuinely happy for you that you defeated cancer, but Lance was way more than a scapegoat. Yes, in order to compete at the time, almost everyone in the peleton had to take drugs, but he won by taking more than most and he was also documented by multiple sources as a pretty horrific bully, at one point bullying perhaps one of the only clean riders off the peleton, one who may perhaps have been genuinely capable of winning in a drug free peleton.
@@edj4833 Are you referring to Tyler Hamilton? Or someone else? And yes, I did hear Lance had a lot of enemies and was a bully. Not a perfect person by no means, I know. But he had a HUGE impact in my life. I can't talk down on someone who potentially saved my life either. I am biased, sorry.
@@jaimeisreal Tyler often referred to his bullying, as did many teamates, but it was a famous French rider with a high Vo2 max, who managed to keep up with the rest of the peleton despite not using EPO, which is an extremely effective performance enhancer. I can't recall the name though, I read it in David Walsh's book. I understand that his inspiration to you, but for the sport of cycling he was awful. He was not the only one to blame as the UCI knew about all of this and enabled it, but there was a difference between other riders who may have reluctantly took drugs to be able to compete in a peleton, and Lance who was on another level.
Eddy Merckx said it. Its not about the bike, its about the engine on the bike for 99.9% of cyclists. Get fitter, lose weight, train more : this is where 99.9% improvement begins and ends.
I’ve ridden alp D’Huez several times, it’s hard, the first 4 turns are steeper than they look on screen. Cadence of the London eye, power was irrelevant tbh …. It’s the grind to the top …. But for those who’ve been recently, the road route has changed at the top so remember to turn left to keep to the original route
Lance has said publicly on the Move broadcast he could hold 500 watts for 30 minutes in his prime. Cam, you could drop all of us. We get how hard it is. Thanks for the reminder.
It is so terrible, but the graphics and stuff you can do with the overlays are unfortunately better than any other software I found. Good trick with the premiere pro, I will try that.

You did 2 minutes so I can bet that in summer you can achieve at least 5min! Great effort!
Dope or no dope, it blows my mind that a person could hold that insane cadence for nearly 40 minutes without dying. The strain the lungs and heart are under must be incredible
Enjoyed this clip , really shows how incredible an effort it takes , should try the same thing again after taking epo ,it would be interesting to see how much of a difference it makes,
Marco Pantani also doped 😁 They must give back everything to Lance. All cyclists doped in his time so it was fair. Lance still one of the Best. Chapo to Lance!
He botted zwift to unlock a bike that provided an advantage prior to the world champs. No actual cheating in competition, just had a bot riding for him offline
I went up Alpe D Huez last year. For those that have never been up it, you dont realise how ridiculous those pro times of 38" are. Just utterly absurd now that I know what its like.
Great Video, I have a good knowledge of cycling and performance-enhancing drugs, and believe me, even with the juicing at the time, Armstrong and Pantini's achievement is off the scale and to be respected.
Holding nearly 500 watts for over 2 mins is still impressive mate. Surely you're putting out more w/kg than Lance though? Maybe you should try giving it a bash matching the same w/kg instead because you're probably lighter i'm guessing
Hey Cameron, great video! It’s eye-opening to see how hard it is to match Armstrong’s wattage on Alpe d’Huez. Given that both Armstrong and Pantani used doping to achieve their legendary times, it’s hard not to be skeptical about recent performances like Pogačar’s. The fact that Pantani and Armstrong, with doping, pushed human limits so far makes it seem unlikely that current riders can break these records naturally, even with advances in training and technology. Thanks for shedding light on this!
He had another 30 seconds in him ! I can just about do a minute at 500 watts, but no way I can say a word for at least a minute afterwards as I'm totally blown, like nothing left in me at all. Pro cyclists are a different breed of humans.
You need to keep the watt/kg figure, not the 495W, esp. uphill there is a big difference…I was an amateur cyclists in the early 1990s and managed about 18kph on long 10% ish average climbs (1,80m, 65kg). But Lance’s numbers are just from another planet.
I was wondering about Cam Jeffers recently, thinking if he still actually does anything on yt - he used to post soo much i felt I lived in his parents living room/house 😁
Marco was going up with 54-42 so he had an advantage on the inner ring. It allowed to him to push down harder with less spinning. To push those big gears require serious leg power and chemical assistance.
Did Lance really average 495W on that day, is it proved somehow? It is sick number. I know that he was heavier than most climbers today and they had rocket fuel these days, but almost 500W for such amount of time sounds like above human abilities.
Still think your ban was one of the most unfair in the cycling history. For a start any championship on zwift should have forced everyone on the same bikes anyway.
