I think the funniest part about the eating in the dark story is that no one else said anything about the dark, and no one thought to turn on the flashlight on their phone and set it on the table as a light.
I think that would help but the range span of the light wouldn’t that great especially if it’s lying flat on the table. Lighting Candles would be the better option. Most people I know keep candles and real deal flashlights in case of power outages from storms.

I felt so attacked as a French when he said "the first Black woman to get a gold medal in fencing"! She's the only fencer most people in France can name anyway. Just a small comment to educate you. BTW, her first two gold medals were won in the USA, in Atlanta in 1996!
Your beef is with education structure on a grand scale. Plus not everyone watches the Olympics to recall names. I can say it’s possible you’re not familiar with what goes on here in America regarding African Americans from what you just said here & that would still be due to information available or lacking. I closed my ears until the HEADLINER came on and it was JOSH. I was excited, I almost screamed. I smiled so hard and laughed even harder. Great show, did not disappoint. The crowd that was there to see him is a testament to how good he is. We were able to met him and he is uber nice. GREAT SHOW from one of my favorite young comedians!!!!!!
Live performance roulette? I love it.
What a treat!
OMG. I'm an old white guy and laughed with recognition during the story about picking your switch. Mom used to make us do that all the time. "Get a good one or I'll go find one I like!" she'd say. Tennessee girl RIP.
If I didn't pick a good switch, my Granny would go pick a limb! I've been telling people this my whole adulthood. Lol
Lord knows I miss that woman.
@@Nanahux We got to get a little older before we appreciate the tough love that kept us on the straight and narrow.
Same!!
@@toober1066truth!! ❤
I forget who, but I remember a comedian talking about his sibling bringing back a log, and granny laughing too hard to whoop him. So pro tip if violence comes back to child-rearing
when my grandma told me to go *pick a switch* one time, i just never came back inside and she forgot all about it.
Josh is such a great story teller and comedian. He keeps me laughing and thinking. Thanks Josh 👍
Props to the editor, the zoom game is on point.
I'm at the point where I think the editor feels like they might be overpaid and is trying to earn it.
Yes! I notice those skills, makes the segment even funnier
😂😂😂
I think the props should go to the camera operator…
I think the funniest part about the eating in the dark story is that no one else said anything about the dark, and no one thought to turn on the flashlight on their phone and set it on the table as a light.
I think that would help but the range span of the light wouldn’t that great especially if it’s lying flat on the table. Lighting Candles would be the better option. Most people I know keep candles and real deal flashlights in case of power outages from storms.
It felt like an Atlanta episode lmao
@@anndeecosita3586 the light would be facing up. Much brighter than a candle which not many people have.
That's how you know it's a bit, not true story
the level of his genius is crazy
8:05 "..I can see...I can see...nah I can't see anything..."🤣🤣🤣
Okay whoever on the editing team doing the zooms needs a RAISE 😂😂 cuz Josh alone is funny but these random closeups have me wheeeeezing
Please don't give the editor(s) more money; we'll start getting sudden closeups of Josh's shoes or just one eye as it widens slightly.
The editing has been phenomenal
Def noticed the change a few weeks ago ! Top tier🔥😂
This is the truth
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I used to live in SF and went to comedy clubs often, Josh Tuesdays lets me feel like I'm back in the dark room, laughing with strangers. ❤
U lived in small forward 🤨
@@kingtut8133 😄
So nice- especially in the time we are currently living. He is like magic for laughter.😂
I've not had the opportunity to go to one yet, but that sounds really really nice :]
That's the joy of being there isn't it? Not just the person doing the funnies, it's enjoying them with others.
Simone is absolutely phenomenal, and an incredible sweetheart too! Her season on Dancing With the Stars was just precious!
Honestly I can say Josh has improved so much in such a short time. He makes me belllly laugh.
The old Richard Pryor reference of the bush in the backyard still resonates. I’m 62 and remember that bush in our backyard. It’s funny now, but…….😢
We all remember that burning butt bush‼️ At 66 I 😢 remember ok?!
I was at this show, and it was phenomenal!! 🔥🔥🔥👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
@@normette I was at Friday's show. Fire.
The camera cut to the fencing hand was wild 😂
Apparently, I've been under a rock cause I am just discovering this man.I am in stitches.New subscriber love it!!!!😂😂😂
Great routine. But you had me at "pick your switch" 🤣🤣🤣
So good to see your audience are completely invested in your career. You are such a talented comedian!
Dear Josh Johnson, It was great and surreal to see my favourite duo, you and Logan, live, in Atlanta this past Saturday!!!! Every so often during your show, I almost had to pinch myself to confirm that I wasn't dreaming! Thank you guys for coming!!!!
As soon as he mentioned Kamala Harris an ad for her popped up. I mean talk about comedic timing 😂. Great show as always 🎉
I was watching her Pennsylvania speech and announcement of the VP while this was on and missed the live!😅
Same! 😂
Too bad she identified as Indian. Oh well.
@@wolvmarine313 Wrong. She is Indian, but identifies as black. Has several clips of her proudly saying she is Indian. Are you seriously letting her new campaign southern accent deceive you?
@@oslonorway547
Absolutely not. I know she's a fraud, hence my comment for him to not include her in his show for next time.
The incredible height Simone got on the floor exercise was amazing.
I am SO HAPPY I have found your comedy. What a gift you have, Josh...I hope to see you live someday soon. Your ability to blend everyday life observation with social commentary reminds me of the late, great Paul Mooney.
This man releases a special every fucking week. It’s incredible
Another Joshday brings the joy to the masses!! I Can't wait!!
Yesss!! I’m doing an all-nighter. This is my reward for completing my next Task! Back in 15 mins!
Congrats 👏👏 how's it going? 😁
Task done - in spite of tech making me have to redo part of it 🙄 . Took 3x as long but I earned it. Watched the set for my reward! 🎉
This was a good show. I’m so glad to see Josh commanding this big venue. Keep up the good grind everyone. The right hard work pays off!
The next time he tells the dinner in the dark story, he should start by saying “for this next part I need yal to close your eyes to get the whole experience”
come for the comedy, stay for the valid, insightful cultural commentary.
"then we are playing telephone with each others ideas."
I will tell you this Josh, your stage persona is more balanced and gracious than I am as a person, and you seem extremely genuine. I wish you all the luck in the world. don't stop doing what you do. you are fighting the good fighting where it matters most.
My man! Those stages are getting bigger and bigger 🎉
They are! Good on him!
Picking a switch was definitely psychological torture! It had to be good enough but not TOO good 😂
Trevor has a similar bit on that
@@LindaC616 So did Richard Pryor. No one owns childhood experiences.
@abasdarhon okay, but don't expect people to laugh as uproariously as when they heard it the first time 10 years ago
@@LindaC616 it is funnier depending on who telling the story.
this guy is freaking brilliant i hope he sticks around for a very long time
Thanks!
Josh Johnson for president!!!
"and it had been SOME TIME" I feel you dude. I've had dinners like this. I love you. Spreading like I can.
Especially when I'm struggling with what I like. I don't want to be rude but if the texture/saltiness/not used to it is hurting me, it feels like forever.
His keen observational skills and intelligence coming together as his comedic skills and timing is like no other of his generation. Great to see you grow week over week!
I felt so attacked as a French when he said "the first Black woman to get a gold medal in fencing"! I know many Americans do not care about fencing (that's ok) and font know anything about other countries (that's NOT okay), but Laura Flessel is a LEGEND in France, and I think she's pretty famous worldwide, as far as "fencing famous" carries you.
You gotta be here to know just like we got to be there to know is what it is.
He said black woman, but he meant black American woman.
That is amazing, ty for sharing😸
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laura_Flessel-Colovic
SHES A POLITICIAN TOO?!
I didn't know that, and I lived in Atlanta during the Centennial Olympics, but didn't watch any of the fencing competitions. Thank you!
Thanks!
Wow thank you so much friend
Josh, how have you not gotten a netflix special ? Not only are your jokes funny, but the delivery is spot on........
I suffer from paranoia. And I basically sabotaged my own career, because I was afraid that very evil people rule the world and I would be used and abused by them if I pursued my career. Seeing such a decent human being like you josh,I know that’s not true. You inspired me to revitalize my music. Which actually gave me a little peace in this chaotic world. Thank you so much. I think you’re the next Dave Chappelle and I got tears rolling down my cheek as I say this. I love you bro 🙏🏽❤️💯
You were not wrong they do rule the world and they did that to me.
What happened if you do not mind sharing?
