hydrogen is the future, NOT electric. Case in point.

Hydrogen fuel cells are great at producing clean energy. Unfortunately, most hydrogen supplies are produced by converting methane. The transportation of hydrogen is incredibly difficult. The hydrogen molecules are so tiny that it can seep through even stainless or titanium steel tanks and pipes. This means that hydrogen supplies require local production everywhere that people need to replenish their supplies. This is why there are very few hydrogen filling stations anywhere outside of refining and production facilities. Because of seepage, fires at hydrogen refilling stations, usually followed by explosions, are not unheard of. Search for California Bus Station fire to see what I mean.
Frankly, as a one time sailor and power boat owner, you'd never get me near any vessel powered by hydrogen. Just because his predatory and monopolistic business practices made gates a billionaire does not mean he understands physics. This is the bloke who was absolutely convinced that Musk and Tesla couldn't build electric semitrucks that could run 500 miles and outperform legacy trucks. He was wrong about that and he's ignorant enough to have swallowed the hydrogen Kool-Aid. I won't be saddened if he is blown up along with his yacht but will feel very sorry for any crew that are injured or lose their lines over his stupidity. Wealth does not make anyone smart. It takes education, and Gates dropped out after three years at Harvard taking pre-law, math, computer science and economics. Not a lot of physics or applied mechanics there!
