Central Park's Famous 5lb Cheesy Chicken Parmo Challenge in Middlesbrough, England!!

- A&Z #1109 - Professional eaters Randy Santel and @KyleVfood each versus Café Central Park's famous 5lb Chicken Parmo Challenge hosted by Central Park Restaurant and Bar located in Middlesbrough, England of the United Kingdom!! After finishing up our 3-week Scotland Tour, @KatinaEatsKilos and I spent 4 weeks (1 month) exploring most of the major cities and areas in the northern half of England. During our travels, I attempted 18 English man vs food restaurant challenges. For British eating challenge event #1, we headed to Central Park Restaurant and Bar in Middlesbrough, England, so we could each attempt their famous 5lb Chicken Parmo Challenge. My own personal opinion is that the Teesside Chicken Parmo is without a doubt England's best tasting food!! There isn't a close 2nd place. I enjoy eating them so much that I attempted 3 consecutive chicken parmo challenges while in the Teesside area. Middlesbrough, England is where the parmo was first created, so I was excited to try Café Central Park's challenge!! My professional competitive eater friend @KyleVfood lives in the Teesside area and met up with us, so we could each try the challenge together. We each had 45 minutes to feast on 2 chicken parmos loaded with béchamel sauce and cheese, served with lots of chips, mushrooms, fried onions rings, and a bowl of healthy salad. Just for fun and because I was feeling great, I attempted to eat 3 chicken parmos within the 45 minute time limit. Fail this challenge and you owe £25. Winners just pay £20 and also earn a sweet t-shirt and spot on the Wall of Fame. BIG thanks to everyone with Central Park for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Café Central Park's famous 5lb Chicken Parmo Challenge in Middlesbrough, England (£25):
- Central Park Restaurant and Bar has been serving the Middlesbrough area for over 37 years!!
- This delicious 5lb double chicken parmo challenge has been available for the past 10 years.
- Parmo, or Teesside Parmesan, is a dish originating in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire, and a popular item of take-away food in the Teesside area. It consists of a breaded cutlet of chicken or pork topped with a white béchamel sauce and cheese, usually cheddar cheese.
- The Teesside Chicken Parmo is ranked by pro eater Randy Santel as England's best tasting food!!
- The base challenge features 2 giant chicken parmos served with lots of chips plus mushrooms, some fried onion rings, and a bowl of healthy vegetable salad. There is a 45 minute time limit to finish everything.
- Fail to finish the base challenge within 45 minutes, and you owe £25. Winners only have to pay £20 and they also earn a sweet t-shirt plus a spot on Café Central Park's Wall of Fame.
- Note: I tried eating 3 chicken parmos just for fun, and because I love parmos and hadn't had the chance to enjoy one for a few years. Just 2 parmos are required as part of this tasty challenge.

When I first saw the normal sized challenge, I was thinking that it was the first challenge that I could probably complete. After seeing Kyle eating it, I think it is bigger than it looked and I would suffer a humiliating defeat.

We all have bad days, these food challenges are all just fun entertainment. Yall acting like the fate of the world hinges on wether or not Kyle finishes every food challenge. Randy has had plenty of losses too, it happens. Its no big deal.

Randy.. I am the problem writer of our local math league. You and Katina made a guest showing on our last team round question set.
Randy and Katina have one hour to finish a huge pizza as part of a local food challenge. On this day, Randy's eating rate is twice that of Katina's. After they ate 1/3 of the pizza, Randy had to take a 20 minute break. Then he rejoins Katina and they finish the pizza together after another 24 minutes. How many seconds were left on the clock when Randy and Katina finished the pizza?

Before I even watch this I hope Katina and Leah do a team challenge together I think that would be awesome! Leah is an absolute monster and I don't know where she puts all that food! I'm from Boro (Middlesbrough) not only do we have the Iconic Parmo and Transporter Bridge (Our Steel built the World. Especially some iconic bridges ☺️) we also have the errrmmm... 🤔 That's about it 🤣 oh and Captain Cook. Kyle needs to up his game, I'm sure he's ate bigger meals in the George Pub & Grill

- In a restaurant, slowly savouring and delighting in its brilliance, or
- At 3am, after 17 pints of whatever, when only the garlicky best will do!

you have a much cleaner technique than Kyle, he is hamster like chewing but with you Randy its a couple of bites & straight down the gullet. I think maybe he is feeling the pressure of being in competition with a champion from the States. Confidence & mind-set seems to play a big part in these challenges, like all professional competition. Great work again Randy. Edit - Kyle definitely felt the pressure of being the hometown eater.
