i don't understand how some people get upset about God in country music. I'm just your run of the mill cowboy from Oklahoma, and i gotta say this. God always has been and always will be a part of country music. country music comes from the farmers, ranchers and salt of the earth Americans, of which I'm proud to say I'm a part of. and these people are very God fearing people. I'm so glad that some of the more traditional country artists are keeping this stuff alive. keep up the good work Cody Johnson. i love what you're doing

Also, he never lets baby's, children, and good people die for no reason... I suggest that you read up on the Holy Bible and get to know God before you denounce him and his disciples.

I thought I was a real cowboy by drinking fighting riding in rodoes working the ranch but all that ever got me was trouble there were days if I didn't know if I was going to live from the night before. The day i ask Jesus Christ into my life I knew I needed him because of his grace and mercy. I used to be one mean and angry cowboy but Jesus Christ never judged me just loved me. I will always hold his hand because I need to and want to. I understand why people don't believe in Jesus Christ because I didn't at one time but once you feel him hold you, your heart and soul will change like mine did. The prayers of my mother did not go unheard because she was always on her knees praying for me. I thank the Lord for delivering me from the demons that plauged my mind.

When my world was falling apart with the worst news it was this song I listened to on repeat fighting for my life It’s something I’ll never forget. Sitting in a cold hospital room, ridden with worry about my babies in the NICU while just trying to survive myself. Met with uncertainty about my own condition, I was told that if I didn't get transferred for plasma treatments, the condition could spread to my organs and shut them down. No one was there to hold my hand. No one but me. As soon as the doctors left, I fell apart at the thought of dying and not seeing my kids. But then I realized that if I were to die at that moment, I was surely going to burn in hell. Little did I know, God was molding me and preparing my heart to trust Him. I was a lost sinner who needed a savior. Weeks later my heart was ready and prepared to accept the truth and right in that hour Jesus saved me
God will be there. I lost everything but he gave me so much more. He will NEVER give up on you not in him. But if you just trust him. I promise he will show up. I didn't lose but gained so much. I don't worry about money, food or a house. It's been taken care of. The grace of GOD

I tell people i don't regret losing my feet because it brought me back to my knees and for that im truly grateful. This song has a whole new meaning for me. 2 years ago I lost both of my feet due to bone infections. I now use prostitics to walk but i know without GOD,i couldn't do it. I tell people i don't regret losing my feet because it brought me back to my knees and for that im truly grateful. I now have a new purpose in life telling people no matter what happens is life,GOD loves and cares for us.

My grandpa sang this song as long as I remember. Thank God, I have a recording of him singing it a few years back. We lost him just before Christmas. He left behind a lot of broken hearts in George West, Texas along with a legacy of faith and kindness.
