For anyone with missing context: digital recallablity is when you’re able to digitally control the parameters of analog equipment, as an alternative to trying to digitally emulate it. Eventually, we’ll be able to manipulate our gear directly from the computer, instead relying just on simulated gear within that computer, or fiddling around with all the different knobs.
JCF Audio has a fully digitally recallable large format console. Aren’t many out there, but they are incredible. And you don’t even need a computer to recall it!

the only problem is having a system with a USB hub for all these USB ports you’re gonna need for recallability. as most hubs only have a certain amount of bandwidth and we all know Macs only give you half a port to use so a new system might need to come in place in order to utilize all this recall availability Without a bunch of more cables
I agree 10000000% with everything you said. My ultimate dream would be to have a full-sized console with 100% DAW control and 100% total digital recall on analogue units. If SSL comes out with this they will change the game.

I've consulted with them a couple of times and had one on one product demos. It's s really good platform I'll be looking into. A few changes need to be made for studio use which I've mentioned to them. I just hope they do a dedicated studio rack for the modules.
@jhorconguero5808 this would be a dream. But it'll cost so much. I thought about buying a N-Trophy and having one studio that is set up until the mix is confirmed as complete.
One benefit of everybody releasing plugins is that now we can get very good plugins for way cheaper than we used to. Also I'm thinking AI will get us closer to the "analog sound" in the near future like it did with guitar amps. Don't know if it will happen on 2025 though
People are going to have a hard time competing with Wes Audio due to their brilliant interfacing. Personally, I won’t have too many units with cables dangling out the front. Would be cool if Wes Audio shared their interfacing as there system has proven the test of time
Yep, they actually do license their digital recall system. They call it GCon and there even is a GCon framework manual online (Rev 1 is from 2016 !!!). It just seems that no other company is interested in this until now. And I can't understand why.
@deweybrowderiii5969 I don't want plugins to stop progressing. If plugins could compete with analogue gear I'd be using them. We've seen very little in the way of advancements in 2024. Unless something changes in the way plugins can be developed we'll see much of the same this year.
@@AudioAnimalsStudio I use a Genesis Black console and in a sense you are right, every pot on the desk is not motorized and has to be manually moved. But I bring it up because all the faders, analog eqs & compressors, routing, are all recalled instantly by the use of relays. There is also a DAW plugin that allows for channel, eq, compressor, fader, busses, to be automated and controlled by the DAW. You are only missing control and recall of the send pots. With a desk like the Genesis Black, and your extra outboard, you would have complete and instant recall and control completely in the analog domain. The idea, technology, and implementation is not new. Neve is a pioneer in this area imo and has been implementing this many years ago. Great videos and content. Keep it up!

The day the Hum Audio N-Trophy console came out i thought my search for a console was over. But i was wishing that it was digital controlled as well. Neve Genesys is good but the problem is that it only has one set of controls per channel and that for me is quite slow (yes i know about their plugin). I'm hoping that companies like Rupert Neve Designs will join in as well with their 5052, 5254 etc. But I don't know why companies don't approach Wes Audio for help
@saturanalog I was very close to getting a Genesys. And the one thing that puts me off is that the EQ aren't on the console and are controlled using the controller. I want to see and feel those controls. Dart around a console with ease. I couldn't feel that with the Genesys.
that should be done with User changable rather cheap but high resolution parts. motorized pot incl. electronics in a bloc form. so you can remove the faceplate and click out the defective bloc and replace it. otherwise - with THAT many mechanised parts in a console for example that console is always "out of service" or big chunks of gear sent out for repair.
