  • While Justin tries to cut this gem he is sent on a journey of self awareness and a few lessons from the man himself. The Rock!
Enjoy this rollercoaster ride how an opal can send you into a spin of ups and downs.
Justin is always learning as he cuts opal, but he never knew that this one would create so much anxiety and stress until the outcome.
    Thanks for watching :)

Easily one of my favorites of his work. Justin’s disappointment when he has to make a free form is the opposite for me. I feel like his experience can afford him some artistic license. He knows the rules, now he can break them.

Personally I think this gem is so much more intriguing then any regular black or crystal opal. The mix of black and white with all of the amazing colour makes it look like your looking into some kind of nebula. Amazing job on it!!

Still very beautiful, and certainly something I'd buy, if I could afford to. The classical gem stones are always going to be wonderful, but these unusual stones really do have their place in my heart, because it's like they trapped a piece of the Universe in them, rather than a part of the Ocean.

I know all opals are unique, but I'venever seen a stone like that one! If the dark, almost black background with milky grey patches over the top, wasn't enough, the predominantly orangey-red colour play interspersed with green and turquoise-blue sparkles, makes it breathtaking. It's certainly a once-in-a-lifetime gemstone!

I love the weird ones, this is so beautiful 😍. Years ago I bought some small white opal cabochons that have cracks, they were only a few dollars. I got them to learn setting but I never ended up using them. 15ish years later I've had them set in to silver to wear as wedding rings. Not valuable but very sentimental as they were some of the few small things I brought over from Australia and they're queer and weird and cracked up like us 🤣 hoping we can eventually upgrade to something like this though 👀
