I find the black spots with the glitter like color in it actually make it one of the more beautiful stones I've seen you cut. If I could afford it I'd probably buy it. Nice job! :)
I don't know if you realize how inspirational you are. Watching you work, and how much pride you take in what you do, and how meticulous you are about the entirety of your business...down to the cleanliness. It demonstrates that if you take pride in what you do, and do it to the best of your ability, the other pieces will eventually fall into place. Thanks.
Personally I think this gem is so much more intriguing then any regular black or crystal opal. The mix of black and white with all of the amazing colour makes it look like your looking into some kind of nebula. Amazing job on it!!
I love this, with the almost tree root like pattern in the potch, and the mixed colouration, is lovely. I also couldn't be happier, wrapped up cosy in my bed here in Ireland, with the wind and the rain outside, watching Black Opal Direct! 😁💖💜
@@blackopaldirect question: Do you ever take a Dremel tool and just , clean out the podge, rounding edges and polishing, cleanup the undulating surface, leaving polished and uneven? Justin cutting opal is a metaphor for life …he sees his shot and he takes it ..knowing he could mess up and lose thousands upon thousands of dollars .. but he has confidence in his skills, applies his skills and succeeds … what a great example …. As a lawyer , I learn from his example and March ahead in a case with confidence in my skills
These are the videos I absolutely love. The gems you cut, whether "good" or "bad" are always more about your exploration into the stone rather than about cutting a saleable gem. Beautiful little gem, even with the uneven potch. Who knew Dwyane was such a force? 🤣
Still very beautiful, and certainly something I'd buy, if I could afford to. The classical gem stones are always going to be wonderful, but these unusual stones really do have their place in my heart, because it's like they trapped a piece of the Universe in them, rather than a part of the Ocean.
Easily one of my favorites of his work. Justin’s disappointment when he has to make a free form is the opposite for me. I feel like his experience can afford him some artistic license. He knows the rules, now he can break them.
Justin! This is one of my favorites! It reminds me of starry night with faint clouds skittering across the sky with all the stars in hundreds of colors! Thank you for delighting my eyes!
I know all opals are unique, but I'venever seen a stone like that one! If the dark, almost black background with milky grey patches over the top, wasn't enough, the predominantly orangey-red colour play interspersed with green and turquoise-blue sparkles, makes it breathtaking. It's certainly a once-in-a-lifetime gemstone!
I love it I know going all black adds to the value but the light patches add character to the gem just proves that beauty is not only in perfection sometimes slightly imperfect can show a beauty rarely seen .
I love the imperfections, especially when they have the pitch showing through like veins/lightening. Even the odd shapes. To each their own, I suppose. I like this one better than one without the lighter spots. It’s beautiful.
That stone could have been an absolute beauty without the white clouds. I watched one of your vids from 9 years ago this arvo. You've come a really long way mate. If you compare what you are doing now, to what you were doing then, there IS no comparison. Kudos, and keep it up Justin. Love your work.
Justin, this gem looks like outer space! The black background with the pin points of color and the larger color underneath.....magnificent! It is perfectly imperfect! 🥰 Good to see Dwayne, it's been a long time. As always a fun video. Thank you my Aussie friend!
I never imagined that so much black on top could be maintained and yet, ultimately, be part of such a gorgeous end product. I thought for sure that Justin would keep rubbing until all the black disappeared.
And the black and gray blotchy with that much color over top I think would make a unique and very beautiful pendant to people who like being different and unique. It's gorgeous
I know this gem makes for some really beautiful jewelry but I truly love them in it's natural form, untouched. I'd love to own a genuine opal. By far the best-looking rock, stunning.
I actually love stones like this with a little sand and potch still on the face. Looks organic. The color in that thing is out of this world. Looks like a galaxy in there.
Your videos give me the same satisfaction as all the heads-up poker matches I watch. It's like you are reading the opal's "tells" before you go all-in. lol
One of the most Fascinating opals I have ever seen ......... and a real 'Nail-Biter' of a cut ! Loved the visit from Dwayne also ! Bravo Justin , a real WINNER !
Camera- if you change your refresh rate setting on the camera you use on your facing shot, from 60 hz to 50 hz you will eliminate the light flicker you’re getting on that camera. Love seeing these gems unfold.
Justin I've learned a few things from watching you do your magic, what I've taken from that knowledge is, it is what it is! You sometimes have to take chances, win or lose, you learn from the process, and in that process a beautiful gem can happen, so it is what it is, beautiful magic!!!
Wow, it looks great. the color offset is actually a nice feature. We are reminded with this stone, that while we seek perfection, it rarely comes our way. We should be content with life's imperfections, as they can remind us to always strive for the best.
It looks like a picture taken by the Webb telescope. It may not have been the gem you were hoping for but because of your keen eye, talent and experience it's still a beautiful opal because it found your hands.
Oh wow I can tell you updated your camera quality… love seeing your love and growth for your passions. Keep it up. Can’t wait to binge watch again. Bye for now.
I watched the whole thing - caught up in the suspense! I don't buy for one minute you had as many doubts in your abilities as you are amazing - you're in it for the watch times; and well done, too. Amazing. I can watch these videos revealing the beautiful colours all day long (And I have done before!)
I know it’s not perfect in your eyes but it is gorgeous. Imperfection adds to its beauty and character. This is definitely one of my favorites. The freckled one is another one of my favorites. This one reminds me of the stars in the sky at my aunts cattle ranch.
Looking at the Opal after you have cut down to the color bar ! I love it more even with the black spots because to me it's like looking up at the stars at night here in Kansas !
Great Opal Justin, just been to the Ridge and caught up with friends and great mates Harry, left this morning only one day there stay longer next time Harry,Love your video's mate.👍👍👍
Ordered my first piece from you two days ago… the Kindred Crystal Opal Ring 18kt Rose Gold. I’m so excited to own a gorgeous opal from you! It’s my birthstone and I’m hoping to have it for my birthday on 10/6.
At 11:34 I think that gem is absolutely beautiful! If you want to keep the colour consistent, cut it to separate black from grey, but really beautiful!
This channel has me addicted now
OMG the GALAXY STONE IS BORN !! Magnificent x
This stone is beautiful. It’s like staring into a celestial nebula full of stars and colorful gasses. Simply amazing cutting Justin.
My thoughts exactly. I absolutely love this one!
Galaxy Opals....it's all in the marketing!
:what a beautifull description you gave to Justin work and stone.
I find the black spots with the glitter like color in it actually make it one of the more beautiful stones I've seen you cut. If I could afford it I'd probably buy it. Nice job! :)
yes, that pattern and color combo was magic even with that whitish part
Me, too. It has part of it reminding me of the huge one found at Tintenbar on the East Coast. Wish I could buy it.🌞
@@nomadscavenger wouldn't that be exciting!?

It's so amazing! Looks like a water drop of the cosmos!
There are those of us that see beauty in perfection. Then there are those that value the imperfections. Looks like cloudy night sky..... Beautiful

Nice
An easy channel to binge. A Texas fan

I like how this stone did its own thing in it's way and turned out intriguing and beautiful.
Gorgeous! It's always a relief when you let something be a freeform!
That thin layer of transparent color right over the black is amazing. I can't imagine you run across that kind of thing every day.

The out takes and bloopers are an awesome addition. Please continue with that. Oh ya…beautiful stone. 😄
I’ve never really appreciated the opal until this channel….so beautiful ❤️
Oh my, this little lady is full of Mystical magical amazing joy in the way it sparkles and dances!!!

It look's like a shot of the cosmos, very nice Gem!
The galaxy stuck in a gorgeous gem. Absolutely stunning. Can't help but stare into it and see the color of the stars
I actually like the way the patchiness ends up looking, tbh
My lord, this was very exciting. Who ever edited this deserves a pay rise 😁
The music used today was excellent,
I really felt like this was a "Don't fall off the edge hero!" moment.
Well deserved, quite the quest.
It’s a very beautiful gem mate ! The blackness gives it character ! Love it !

Honestly that's in my top three iv seen cut on your channel. I love the way the colour comes through the shades of black
Sometimes the gem you want isn’t in the stone. The skill is finding what is there. You have that skill.
Nice save Justin! You really had to work for that one mate. It’s beautiful 👍🏻.
I love the black and white mixed in that gem! Color is beautiful
Congratulations, Justin. Thank you.
You tricked me for a minute (even though I saw the thumbnail). That was a good one. Ya got me! 🤣
I keep coming back to this video. I know it doesn’t grade out perfectly but I absolutely love it. It has a personality I know I’d get along with.
I never imagined that so much black on top could be maintained and yet, ultimately, be part of such a gorgeous end product. I thought for sure that Justin would keep rubbing until all the black disappeared.
I honestly love the mottled gems, just adds to that uniqueness.
The "freckled" one a little bit prior is still one of my favourites all time
Feels like a perfect moment to pull out Lady MacBeth's speech: "Out, damned spot! Out, I say!" What a beautiful stone!
I am NO expert… I think the variation in the potch color makes this gem more unique… The beauty is what you make of it.
Lol Justin, would you send me the rock you just threw over your shoulder, Justin kidding. Love watching all your programs . You rock 🤚
Hey, "the rock". You're my favorite! So kind,. Thanks,.
I really love the dark to light and beautiful colours. I want to buy this so bad
And the black and gray blotchy with that much color over top I think would make a unique and very beautiful pendant to people who like being different and unique. It's gorgeous
It's like the Milky Way, spilled across this beauty 💜
I would call that a stone showing a lot of character and personality and great individuality. It will speak loudly to the right buyer.

The Galactic Guitar pick!!!!!
🤯🤯🤯 omg that one is stunning! and i dont care if has a few grey bits showing! that just makes it prettier to me!
One of the best I’ve seen so far! An entire galaxy in one tiny drop. If only I had an extra 5K laying around…this one would be my first choice.

I like the stone with the black spots in it. Gives it a uniqueness. A one of a kind beautiful specimen to my way of thinking. ❤ Opals 💍 🇺🇸
I am very glad that your humour is back and present again! It seems that you have recovered well, wishing you all the best!!
It is a beauty! It looks like a guitar pick. One could mount it on a necklace and give it to a musician, perhaps? It sure does sparkle!
It reminds me of the universe. It's gorgeous.
I like this gem a lot. Beautiful piece of work again.
Beautiful stone. I love watching, I can almost hearing your mind working x
Very beautiful! That color is amazing!
Ok, uh, my blood pressure couldn't handle this one.

That is an absolutely beautiful opal. Love All of the colors on the black.

If a guy didn’t have a lot of experience he’d waste a gem so your knowledge speaks volumes!!!! Nice stone
It was a risk but thank you
For all the stone's unique flaws, it's still a beautiful piece, potch and all.
Beautiful work Justin
You manage to coax the beauty right out of those stones!!!
Phenomenal turnout!!
Looking at the Opal after you have cut down to the color bar ! I love it more even with the black spots because to me it's like looking up at the stars at night here in Kansas !
