    Excellent - thanks for explaining

How are you setting up the devices for midi timing? What is the master and what is the slave? Are you noticing any drift? Thanks in advance!

The Model:Samples is the master, and the Blackbox is set to quantised recording and two bar sample length. No I don't notice drift when they are playing independent sounds, but there is inevitably some phasing when the Blackbox samples (of the Model: Samples) begin on autoplay. Both samplers have pretty steady clocks.

That's an interesting idea - thanks for highlighting it.
When you say that the BB can 'record analogue LFOs, record them as audio and then play them back as CV' what do you mean?

Thanks for the comment. Yes, I didn't explain the Blackbox CV recording very clearly... the input on the Blackbox sampler is DC coupled. This allows you to record, say, an analog LFO, which it treats like any other sample, except that it doesn't play back audio. Instead it 'plays back' CV. You can play back this recorded CV through one of the DC coupled outlets. For instance, you may have attenuated and boosted the LFO signal going to a filter frequency sweep on an analog synth in a way you liked over time and by hand. You can record these movements onto the black box (as pseudo audio CV) and then play it back directly from the Blackbox (as this pseudo audio CV file) to the CV input on the filter frequency on the same or a different analog synth to get the same attenuation curve (that can be synced via CV or midi as well). Hope that helps. I could do a demonstration video if you like. It's a way of recording CV automation.

@@teebeedahbow Thanks for getting back to me.Wow! That's gane changing madness! And yea, I think a video would be a great idea👍🏻

I think they are too different to really decide. The Blackbox has a very up to date concept concerning sampling. The speed with which you can get quite deep into samples is very impressive, and the touchscreen is the best I’ve ever used. Live sampling is fantastic. The Model Samples is more enjoyable to play as a groove box, and compared to the Elektron sequencer the Blackbox can even seem rudimentary. I think they complement each other very well.

@@teebeedahbow I have both well the samples is on the way but I have the cycles and the fun factor is just really high on it so I’m hoping the samples maybe is good because I like that electron sequencer but I agree the black box I don’t know what wizardry they did with the touchscreen is amazing I don’t like the song mode would be my only complaint with the black box, i love the workflow of my novation circuit tracks but the sequencer is kind of bland and I love the sound of my sp404 and the sequence is not bad but it’s kind of complicated I would say the most user-friendly thing I used was the cycles as far as beginner and funThe sound on the black box seems polished I guess how I would imagine the MC101 sounds but no machine checks all the boxes I want the pitch on the black box with the effects of an SP404 the electron sequencer and a novation circuit workflow but this device doesn’t exist I would love to have the touchscreen of the black box in the editing power of a MPC 101 water down in a perfect device LOL I was going to get a novation circuit rhythm but basically I chose the samples instead because there’s more patterns for variation even though it’s a sample player not a sampler but I thinkHow electron model series has the dedicated buttons to affect the sound just gets you right into making Music and using your ear

@@SonicVibe The Electron Model series is really good to play. The black Box is more of a mini studio. But its flexibility is incredible.
