●I am from Yemen and I will tell you something that does not appear in the media. The cause of the destruction of Yemen is the Saudi government, with the support of America. When it allied with some countries, including the UAE, in 2015, they declared war on Yemen under the pretext of eliminating the Houthis. The Houthi group was very small at that time, but Saudi Arabia and the coalition countries were bombing Yemen brutally and mercilessly, killing civilians, besieging Yemen for 8 years, and causing the death of tens of thousands of children and civilians. They were bombing wedding halls, funeral halls and everything. They were no different from Israel. Which caused the anger of the Yemeni people, and we all supported Al-Houthi until he became strong. Saudi Arabia failed in the war and Its goal in the war was to obtain Yemeni oil, and the UAE is now seizing Socotra Island.
Thank you for speaking the truth and I agree with every word you said. Before the war, Saudi Arabia has been intentionally supporting the most corrupt leaders in Yemen because they want them to be their puppets, they want to control Yemen because Yemen is simply a republic and not a monarchy like the rest of the countries in the region & they want to destory the reputation of the republic system. They dont want Yemen to be a successful example of republic in fear of losing their thrones! They want all democracy in the Middle East to be a total failure making monarchy the only solution for their people with the support of America who also don't like to deal with democracy and wants to deal with one man, one dictator who is in charge of the region.

Grossly oversimplified video that relies on the trope of a leader rather than analyze why people supported Al-Houthi. People were protesting the securitization of the border in north Yemen and KSA and also restrictions on their access to water sources. I recommend reading or listening to Isa Blumi's research on Yemen.

3. The Saudis are the Americans' most loyal ally in the middle east, after Israel.
4. Wahhabi Islam is an extreme sect that doesnt connect with the majority of muslims.
5. Saudi Arabia cant run their own country, instead importing westerner and japanese engineers, and indian and pakistani laborers.
6. Saudi arabia has large shia populations adjacent to both Iran and to Yemen.

The ummayids are not the fathers of sunni religion. The ummayids are disliked and opposed by all sunnis. Sunnis support the family of the prophet and Ibn Zubayr. Sunnis just don't make it theological like Shia do. It's history and politics, not particularly important to religion. Sunnis support the just men over the tyrants.
I had to look up the rest. Zaydis sit half way between sunnis and twelvers on the Rashidun caliphs. They don't curse them, but they do think Ali was next in line. I couldn't find anything about their view on Aisha or Abu Huriarah. Their theological positions are most similar to the mutaziliah, and fiqh wise they are similar to the Hanafi.

I'm surprised at the omission of any mention of Houthi resistance against Wahhabi infiltration into northern Yemen in the early 1990s as well as how that plays out in the dynamics of the civil war, in which many of the southern factions are overtly Wahhabi. Resistance to Wahhabism has been a key factor in the originally Houthi mobilization and ongoing efforts to resist both southern hegemony or separatism.
This war has nothing to do with religion. This same group was an ally of the Saudis in the 1962 Yemen war, and southern Yemen is Sufi and closer to the Shiites than to the Wahhabis. You don't know what you're talking about.

And by the way, it wasn't obligatory. I was around that age during the war no one was forced to go and pick up arms, it was rather initiative by the people themselves or by sending their children to join the army. They feared Western imperialism being brought to control them.

The opening part, where they shout death to people of a particular religion gives away the whole facade of these people. The iran-saudi divide has bought nothing but disgrace and humiliation to the muslim world. I am not saying who is right or who is wrong, but all I say is that these both countries have only done damage to the muslim nation, they both fund different groups in different countries, promoting escalation of civil wars and religious extremism. No wonder how our ummah faces humiliation everyday on borders of europe, in Palestine, because a divided middle east is a weakest middle east. And I don't see any point in continuing these wars, except the muslims bleeding each other to death.

I want to clarify why I think this video is one sided, and explain misunderstanding about Houthis:
1- 3:24 she said the Houthis were met with little resistance because Yemen army was divided, this was one of the reasons but the major reason was Yemenis started to support and even join the Houthis movement.
2- 2- 3:47 a new government was formed in Sana’a. Why she didn’t say it was formed and accepted by over 80% of the population of Yemen?!!
3- 3- 4:10 a coalition led by Saudi Arabia and UAE stepped in. Why she didn’t mention that this coalition and heavy bombing have killed nearly 70,000 civilians ACCORDING to the BBC, which I believe the real number is way much bigger.
4- 4- 5:30 human right organizations accused both Houthi and Saudi-led of crimes against humanity. Why the BBC report of Saudi-led coalition using INTERNATIONALLY PROHIBITED WEAPONS is ignored?!!
5- 5- 6:24 did they kill these journalists and students for no reason? Like they did NOTHING!!
6- 6- 6:30 they don’t recruit child as it was shown in the video, the recruit men over 18 or youths after puberty and PARENTS ACCEPTANCE.
7- 7- 7:08 the shia rebels. The leader of the movement is shia, but the members of the movement are mix between sunna and shia it was said by the formal speaker of Houthis.
They were met with little resistance by the Yemeni government they Easly made it to sanaa and the took over
