I always love watching the way you have managed the water, and watching the water flow through Aanandaa is almost a spiritual experience for me even in the videos. It must be profound watching it in person. Thanks for sharing your valuable insights. Regards.
So Finally a infrastructure video for us!! How to find a ideal place to build a pond? Maybe if you explain in your layout plan. As managing water is utmost important in farm.
Beautifully explained. Interesting. Waiting excitedly for the next episode. After water mgt, where would you recommend to build the house? Which part of the property would be most suited for the house? You have told us about the wind in your older episodes. How about the sunlight? Also you did promise us an episode on humans who interfere. 😊 And if you could explain how you created the pond, it would be very useful.
the water which you use for drinking ie portable water does it comes from the municipalities or you filter from your pond by using carbon filter ect... ?
Thanks for sharing your learnings. Now others don’t have to reinvent. Question: how do you distribute water or irrigate your plants and trees using the water collected in the ponds especially when you have such a big piece of land?
Enjoyed this video. Do you also make swales before your first upstream pond or do you collect all the water upstream and then send them to swales below? Great video. Farmers need to realise this benefit and then they don't need to bore hundreds of feet below. So much knowledge in Mother Nature if we are just willing to be alert attentive and involved with her. Rain water harvesting is the future. Thank you for your continuous efforts 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wanted to know how did you establish or make your Live wall..can it be done indoors..as on a Living room wall? Will always always be so grateful for your efforts for sharing these informations/videos with us.. Once again ..I would like to Thank You from the bottom of my heart.. #💝Passion for farming
I have land that is lower than the neighbouring lands. Should I put more soil on my land so that it will level up with the adjacent land or just leave it like that and just do the water management if water start flowing to my land from my neighbour land?
Thank u. Ours is a flat piece of land in tamilnadu . We having witnessing heavy rainfall for the past 2 days. Wells are full. The water is oozing from the ground. Is it still necessary to store that water by building trench around the plot. Any suggestion would be really helpful
Why is the water oozing from the ground? Dig a pit to see if the water is soaking in, or there is a hard pan which is preventing it from soaking in. In 2 days of rain, nothing should be overflowing.
The swales/sweds (speed breakers) need maintainence, correct? how often do you have to rebuild them? What are some things that you consider, while doing it?
@@farmaanandaa the water flow from our neighbour's land to our land bringing sand and silt which get deposited in our water management system , this disturbs the seepage of water into our ground, when excess of sand get deposited in the channel, the water overflows and erodes our pathway
Hi , i watched almost all videos in this chanel and it is very inspiring. As you mentioned you planted silver oak and casuarina on your boundaries. Can i get the details from where you bought these plants and is there any specific climate conditions required for these trees ?
There are no standard blue prints for permaculture. The first step of design is to observe your surroundings, and each land is different. So no template. Sorry!
Do you not recommend any sort of lining or plastering of your ponds ? We get about 92 cm of rain in our area but we are worried about the peak summer months. Specifically if I plant any horticultural crops.
That would be called selfish and greedy if ponds are lined. It would b like, pumping steriods to ur biceps and triceps(storing water in lined ponds for own use and nt giving to nature) instead of whole body healthy nutrition( whole land surrounding the pond benefits frm unlined pond).
Brilliant astonishing tremendous amount of info shared in a simple manner

We've just planted creeping fig at the bottom of the wall. Its climbed up on its own. It need sunlight like all plants so unlikely to grow indoors.

Just do water management
Thanks for the information. My area is flooded during summer. Is it still possible to plan for permaculture farm. If so how I should start?
PLs study the land to understand why is it getting flooded? Is it not percolating into the ground? Or is there surplus after percolation?
i have got drip irrigation system at my farm... its such a headache and complicated
Great information mam. How can I reach your farm and meet you to get more information about permaculture. I am from Maharashtra
You can come fora Farm Tour some day www.aanandaa.com/farm-tour

What about natural flat land??
Mam, how about capturing the rain water from the roof of the house and directing it to underground water tank. Is that a workable approach?
yes it is very much workable
The swales/sweds (speed breakers) need maintainence, correct? how often do you have to rebuild them? What are some things that you consider, while doing it?
No, you don't need to rebuild them.
Hope that I will also have a permaculture farm one day
All the best for that!

Hello mam which variety you use for Vegetables
There are so many vegetables and so many varieties. We don't bother too much about varieties

We got these trees from a local plant nursery. I think these trees can grow in a wide climatic range - from the hills to the seaside areas.

Are swales required in flat land?
If you have rain water leaving your land, you can build a swale or trench on all sides to trap it and allow it to percolate
