I hate the last update… so before i let go my Apple Watch i have removed all notifications for a moment to see how i feel. At first i was so anxious… but now i feel better and less stressed! And i realize a part of the stress was caused by the nonstop notifications. Outside the health features and Apple Pay, i realize i don’t need any other features. The Apple watch Ultra makes absolutely no sense to me. $800 for a watch that will be obsolete in a few years. Give me a break! I have the series 7. I see no need to upgrade to the series 9. Before this one, I had the series 4 and the only reason why I got the series 7 is because the 4 fell on the tile floor and broke. And before the series 4, I had the original Apple watch. I don't see the need to upgrade every year. But I'm one of those weird dudes that wear two watches, Pixel watch on one wrist and Apple watch on the other because I carry two phones, actually three. I also have the Samsung Galaxy watch 6 classic. Of all of those, the pixel watch 2 is the one I prefer.

Not to mention that I don’t get all day battery life anymore. Since the update I have to charge it twice, sometimes 3 times a day now.
While I have never really liked the look of Apple Watches, I recently changed how I use my technology and broke my smartphone addiction. My screen time is now 30-45 minutes daily MAX. One of the side effects of breaking my smartphone addiction is that I accidentally leave my phone behind quite a bit: at home when I leave for work, in the car at the grocery store, in the car at an event, etc. After leaving my phone behind too many times, I picked up the AW Ultra 2 so that my wife and family could still reach me via phone, messages, or telegram and had a reliable way to track my location even when my phone wasn't on me. My AW Ultra 2 is my best friend and my MAIN smartphone. My iPhone has now become a supplementary device, and if I didn't need the iPhone to pair with the AW, I would sell the iPhone. I also have notifications turned off on my watch for everything that isn't a phone call from someone in my contacts list. This is more of an ode to my digital minimalism journey. Still, the journey has led me to utilize technology as a tool for specific needs rather than allowing the technology to use me and consume all my time.
Reminds me of this scene from Revenge of the Sith when Padmé pleads with Darth Vader (formerly Anakin). Hardcore Apple sheep (like Frank from your skits): Drew, you’re breaking my heart! Hi ! I'm kinda glad that you're doing this video because I'm feeling the same about apple lately. just like you, watchOS 10 was like a little knife in my back, they choose (surely it was their decision since a long time) to prioritize the beauty over the real achievement ... so everything is kinda separated and you have to scroll more for the same action (just like the rings app now). and apple and Apple Watch is not giving us data that could potentially benefit for us like body battery or stuff like that. "listen to yourself" features. I still love the Apple Watch (when you're holding a baby or carrying something etc) I'm still doubting about a Garmin in a way that just like you it disconnect me from the social aspect but connect me way more on the health aspect and not having to worry about battery life ! and features and it is gonna rock watchOS 11 or not .. I still don't know. having a connected watch is still a thing to me since a I was a boy but since my series 1 back then... it feels harder to get the thing, less simpler now that so much smartwatch came out and can get the job done (to me still Garmin) :) you're not alone, it feels like you're disappointed by apple overall and that they are more turned into new customer as the apple watch gets more and more popularity (and I'm not talking about Apple Watch only) I guess that they will turn around someday
gave up using the watch 1.5 years ago & haven't looked back. i get tempted sometimes by the Ultra but i remember that smart watches really aren't that useful to me. i like hearing a tech creator's perspective on a more minimal approach to ecosystem devices.
Tapping is already on older watches. In fact, it constantly tells me to double pinch, and I’m on an original Ultra. I still don’t know the difference between the current tap versus the old tap, but it seems like the old version is pretty powerful. I suspect the only reason it’s being advertised as a feature at all is because Apple wants to call attention to the key interface item of the Vision Pro. Otherwise, Apple probably wouldn’t have even mentioned it.
Still running the series 3 here with no plans to upgrade. This thing is a champ and does all the things a smartwatch should and more. Really cannot think of a reason to change it. Even the battery life is still a full day and a bit
I actually just upgraded from the 3 to 9. My 3 was still running decent and I plan to use it for situations where I don't care if the watch gets more scratched up or whatever. But I wanted to get the 9 mainly to get the bigger screen and actually still get watchOS updates.
I just upgraded from the series 7 to the ultra 2 not much of a difference but I just wanted a bigger screen to type with because I’m not allowed to have my phone physically on me at work and I do building maintenance and I don’t want my phone falling or getting damaged anyways so the watch is clutch especially at work
I upgraded from a series 7 41mm to an ultra 2 I really like it. The battery is amazing. I find the Apple Watch super useful. I do agree with Drew feeling on software locking. It’s so obvious what there doing. I’m running Mac OS Sonoma on my 2013 Mac book pro. It runs just fine.
I HAVE to close my rings daily, so that in of its self is worth it. I was never one to exercise or track calories, but now I do. If it wasn’t for the rings, I wouldn’t need an Apple Watch.
The reason why I wouldn't consider buying a used Apple Watch is simply battery health. With a device that already needs to be charged every night, I would want ist to be brand new. It's differnet than an iPhone or MacBook that I just need to charge every 2-3 days.
Above all else the Apple Watch is dorky. It’s just such a buzz kill to be in conversation with someone and they start playing with their watch mid conversation. I dumped my Apple Watch when I bought my first “nice” watch. It felt so good not having some stupid device shake my wrist telling me something I never really cared about knowing anyways. I only miss things like ease of timers, I meditate and the timer function in those apps was great on the watch, and I miss kinda “knowing” the health metrics. But I don’t miss looking at my wrist like an idiot and I don’t miss interactions with yet another screen.
I kind of agree with you. I try wear my Apple Watch Ultra but end up taking it off all the time. I want my freedom back and might end up with an Android phone swell. I do love my Mac
I'm gonna do the same, if only because it doesn't work with my new phone A refurbished Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is on its way though, I just can't go back from having a smartwatch - I fail to notice my pocket vibrating sometimes, and that's already caused me to respond to an important message late a couple times. I do appreciate you pushing the idea of buying tech secondhand though, the watch I just bought refurbished was $450 two years ago and I bought it for $80. Until recently, I never considered secondhand, but I got a $2000 fold for $625 and a $450 watch for $700, and all I lost in saving almost $2000 is there are some miles on my new tech already. The phone works like new best I can tell, and I'm hopeful the watch will too.
I’m still on my S8 upgraded from S5 I like However Watch OS 10 is making experience garbage the removal of the Dock is like why??? The swipe from top is an off green tint and swipe up from bottom a different color all together. They made watch is a baby wrap version of iOS! Steve would be ashamed 🤬🤬
I rock a used iPhone 13 mini with a used apple watch ultra(only $30 a month for phone+watch cellular on Visible), my "tablet" is an s23 ultra...gives me options to bring whatever I want, or just the s23 ultra if I don't want to hear from anyone 👌
Honestly, the Apple Watch is something stupid. I'm still using my SE and I don't plan to upgrade for many years. I just check the time and use Apple Pay... but aside from that... yeah, there's no point for getting a more expensive Apple Watch
I stopped use Apple watch because of the poor battery life! I had an Garmin Venu 2 and now I bought an Huawei GT 4 black and I am happy with it. I am using it with my iphone 11. I receive notifications perfect, but because ban I cannot respond or interact with the phone. It doesn't bother me! It looks amazing and it has a 10 days battery life plus it costs around 200 euros.
1.Waiting for redesign 2. Job doesn’t allow it 3. Helps in my workouts I tend to get distracted with my phone in my pocket . Overall love the Apple Watch but my series 4 is just fine for now until a radically new redesign
I some what agree with you, but I do use my Apple Watch for controlling my music through my phone because I’m still in school and we can have our phones out in class. Also I’m just a watch guy so even if I didn’t have an Apple Watch I would still have some sort of watch
I have apple watch S6 and I was planning to buy the Apple watch Ultra but after WatchOS 10 I really hate apple watch, and beside the distraction also I'm planning to give it to my wife.
Apple have already addressed all the issues you raised here. Notifications can be turned off individually or globally. Calls can be quickly and easily silenced by covering the screen. If you want to be able to escape your phone buy the non cellular version. Etc… I suspect you already know all this which makes this video even stranger. I suspect money is talking here, the original Apple sheep would be a big catch for android
After watch OS 10 which literally ruined my smooth fluid series 8 and Apple chose stupid features that make literally no sense I’m about to sell it and go back to traditional watches. Apples software team needs to be all fired they have dropped the ball big time!
I have been using an Apple Watch SE for nearly a year. Not a slave to it and.when the notifications.come straight to your wrist, it keeps your phone safe from snatch and grabbers in London.
Its not bad being loyal to a company who produces top notch products, like Apple. Its good that your trying other products once in a while and give an honest opinion about it. Seems your not going to be a Apple Sheep, but a Tech Journalist more and more by testing other brands and products. Keep up the good work mate
Drew sells his Apple Watch meanwhile I got a Series 9 for $36… My friend owes me alota money so they bought me an Apple Watch to pay off their debt, I only had to pay the first monthly payment
Tell me why the iPhone 15 gets the new portrait feature but last year’s iPhone 14 pro with the same lens, chipset and an extra lens can’t? It even has a lidar sensor to capture depth information. Apple is just milking us 😑
I still sport the series 3 i bought 6 years ago. Battery at 90%. Stopped using the heart monitoring feature as it turned middle aged me into a hypochondriac. But it still works fine as a watch. A very accurate timepiece at that. Also the 3 is Apple pay capable so I dont need to take the phone out to make payments.
The thing I hate about my apple watch 7 is that with watch OS 10, FOR SOME REASON someone decided it was a good idea to stop showing steps, exercise and active calories on a single screen. It absolutely RUINS my experience with it, and there's no way to change it, why would you do that on an exercise focused device? smh
I‘m selling my Apple Watch for a traditional watch. Got myself a Mido as my entry into higher end watches and I love it. The fact that I don‘t get notifications all the time and not beeing attached to a screen 24/7 as well as charging it every day couldn‘t feel better. WatchOS 10 ruined it for me completely. WHO at Apple thought of this hideous, unintuitive UI? Now I really appreciate traditional watches.
Yeah Apple Watches are a completely unnecessary accessory… (I don’t care about tracking anything) all I will ever want or need from Apple is a good iPhone and a good laptop… nothing else!!! Less is more and cheaper and easier to maintain as well
I sold my Apple Watch a few months ago. I enjoyed it but I also realised that I like my quiet time and would get quite angry when my watch interrupted me. I mainly used it to track health and sleep and wish I could buy a smart bracelet, it just tracks health and sleep and does nothing else. I know whoop does that but not comfortable with a subscription for that.
I do usually grow tired of the Apple Watch and just want to disconnect. It ends up coming overkill of notifications that leads to me not checking anything lol I am intrigued for the rumors of the blood pressure just because that’s something that actually applies to me. The health stuff is about it.
I hate my apple watch but absolutely need it for volume control and pause play for podcasts etc. i use latex gloves at work dealing with chemicals and can pull the glove over my watch but it still registers play/pause etc. if it wasnt for my work i would have zero use for it. Series 4 stainless steel.
Cannot blame you. I have only really bought the first Apple Watch SE. I like it well enough to keep it. If it broke, I wouldn’t be tempted to buy a new one, though. To me, it’s a complete novelty product and it isn’t necessary at all. If you’re super into fitness and what not, I can see the appeal. Other than that? No. It’s not necessary.
I just updated to watchOS 10 and now I hear you like Weston made you switch the house is not the best thing that one of the year. Yeah I do need it for my
I’ve been wearing Apple Watches since series 3. Stopped at series 7. Sold mine about 3 months ago and haven’t looked back. Started wearing regular watches again and couldn’t be happier.
I keep mine for the calorie/exercise tracking and sleep tracking, plus theres still situations where i want to have a basic form of communication available to me and i dont/cant have my phone with me.
I used to feel like my Apple Watch was so pivotal, especially because I exercise almost every day, but now I hardly wear it. I ended up getting a rash / skin infection where I usually wear my wash (from washing my hands too often and not drying them enough), and so I was forced to stop wearing the Apple Watch while I healed. Now I just don’t see the point in it anymore - if anything, constantly getting notifications on my wrist is more stressful. I’m always carrying my phone anyways (I don’t have a cellular watch) and the calorie tracking features of the watch are useless because regardless of whether or not I know how many calories I burned, I’m going to exercise anyways.
Why not just use focus modes? I just switched to iOS from Android and those have been awesome as far as limiting my notifications and time spent on unnecessary stuff on my phone
I genuinely think there might actually be meriet to the madness: given that the Apple Watch already have one of the worst battery lives in wearable tech and that the double tap constantly running in the background might drain the at least 3 year old based processors dry extremely fast?
Starting to think this guy hates fruits

Yup, I’m definitely selling my Apple Watch Ultra. Now that you say it I haven’t been using it that often for the past month or so.
Reminds me of this scene from Revenge of the Sith when Padmé pleads with Darth Vader (formerly Anakin).
Hardcore Apple sheep (like Frank from your skits): Drew, you’re breaking my heart! You’re going down a path I can’t follow.
Drew: because of Craig?
Frank: Because of what you've done... what you plan to do! Stop! Stop now; come back... I love you!
Drew: *strangles Frank*
A tech channel with almost no tech owned anymore lol
Guys, I feel like Andrew is gonna pull a Jake Skywalker (if you know what I mean)
I still don't know. having a connected watch is still a thing to me since a I was a boy but since my series 1 back then... it feels harder to get the thing, less simpler now that so much smartwatch came out and can get the job done (to me still Garmin)
:)
you're not alone, it feels like you're disappointed by apple overall and that they are more turned into new customer as the apple watch gets more and more popularity (and I'm not talking about Apple Watch only)
I guess that they will turn around someday
just drop all your tech and stop annoying us
gave up using the watch 1.5 years ago & haven't looked back. i get tempted sometimes by the Ultra but i remember that smart watches really aren't that useful to me. i like hearing a tech creator's perspective on a more minimal approach to ecosystem devices.
What has happened to drew lol apple sheep no more
Tapping is already on older watches. Otherwise, Apple probably wouldn’t have even mentioned it.
skits always make me laugh, so much. you made my day today. Thank you.
But I wanted to get the 9 mainly to get the bigger screen and actually still get watchOS updates.
i still have my 3
I just upgraded from the series 7 to the ultra 2 not much of a difference but I just wanted a bigger screen to type with because I’m not allowed to have my phone physically on me at work and I do building maintenance and I don’t want my phone falling or getting damaged anyways so the watch is clutch especially at work
I upgraded from a series 7 41mm to an ultra 2 I really like it.
Sell the Tesla next.
Why does TikTok even NEED ads. They are so annoying
I 100% agree!!!!
I kind of agree with you. I try wear my Apple Watch Ultra but end up taking it off all the time. I want my freedom back and might end up with an Android phone swell. I do love my Mac
I'm gonna do the same, if only because it doesn't work with my new phone
A refurbished Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is on its way though, I just can't go back from having a smartwatch - I fail to notice my pocket vibrating sometimes, and that's already caused me to respond to an important message late a couple times.
I will NEVER use WatchOS 10. Sheer abomination and perversion of the Apple Watch UI and vision.
Honestly, the Apple Watch is something stupid. I'm still using my SE and I don't plan to upgrade for many years. I just check the time and use Apple Pay... but aside from that... yeah, there's no point for getting a more expensive Apple Watch
Apple watch is a weird product because if youve had one then youve had all of them.
I got a used Ultra for $438 on eBay. Perfect upgrade from my Series 7 with a degrading battery.
1.Waiting for redesign
2. Job doesn’t allow it
An highly recommend looking at the Withings range of smart watches.
next month: i sold my iphone 11 the month after: i sold my macbook pro
I'd sell my soul if I had one
Souls R Us was out of stock, do you know where I could pick one up lol
I would probably ditch my AW7 if I didn’t run, and track my calories and steps everyday. It would be nice to not have this thing on my wrist
Drew sells his Apple Watch meanwhile I got a Series 9 for $36…
My friend owes me alota money so they bought me an Apple Watch to pay off their debt, I only had to pay the first monthly payment
The health stuff is about it.
before my series 3 broke i really just used it for sleep tracking/silent alarm and fitness tracking
Right now I’m fed up with certain complications just up and disappearing and not returning. I’m sure it’s the apps but still it’s aggravating!
I love my WATCH Series 7 41mm Midnight running watchOS 10.0.1 😊❤
WatchOS 10 broke him. I’m never downloading that OS, watchOS 9 forever.
Sounds like the wife has put the brakes on to his tech expenditure lol
She didn't want me to sell the watch 😂
@@TailosiveTech haha I was jk mate
Am I the only one thst likes watch os 10? Button is easier and more reliable than swiping for control center. Swipes are hard sometimes.
I don’t have an Apple Watch or any smart watch, because I wear analogue mechanical watches. I like them more
Why is no one saying anything about the fact that he's recording on a Pixel? The video quality is immaculate
your recoding this on a pixel??? omg thats awsome! You cannot tell that's its being recoded on an android
I genuinely think there might actually be meriet to the madness: given that the Apple Watch already have one of the worst battery lives in wearable tech and that the double tap constantly running in the background might drain the at least 3 year old based processors dry extremely fast?
Apple knows what they are doing. I saw a bunch of teens playing with the tap. So mommy and daddy bought them the new one and they were freaking out b
