This film was not produced by DreamWorks Animation, but was released by them. The same thing happened to Chicken Run too, and coincidentally, they are both Aardman-produced films using their stop-motion animation.
In early Fall 2005 in Los Angeles-San Fernando Valley, when I was 8 years old in the 3rd grade moving to another elementary school, Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit was my first DreamWorks animated family-kids film aimed at small young little kids that I actually enjoyed seeing in theaters and after I enjoyed seeing the film in theaters, I liked it as an 8 year old child when the film was released

Different licensing strategies for that. Largely handled by DreamWorks for that one. Aardman has more control of the rest of the Wallace & Gromit stuff.
