- The Sangean PR-D6 AM FM Stereo portable radio has amazing audio and is an all analog receiver, no DSPs here. Reception is about average on MW, but when paired with a passive loop it turns into a "superadio". I love the simplicity this radio offers.

Overall, you will be able hear even the faintest evening stations as long as you incorporate a loop into your listening session, otherwise locals and semi locals are just fine. Having separate bass and treble controls really lets you sculpt audio, both on the speaker and headphones.

The Bass/Treble controls really make this radio sound good.
This radio coupled with a select a tenna comes close to sensitivity as my ge SR II...What a find for 31.00 shipped . I would love to know if there using multiple IF filters and the size of the ferrite. I have the blue one. Worth the money. What i don't like is the excessive play on the tuning knob but for 31.00 not expecting superior build quality.

I found one on eBay for $40AUD. Think I’ll buy it. I have a Sangean SR-35 with a basic antenna added onto it. Picks up weaker regional FM towers that you’d ordinarily pick up in the car. AM though, not great but I’m lucky the AM transmitters are very local, no more than 10km away the nearest 1km away. I’m keen to pick up Muswellbrook and Sydney AM stations.
Hello, I live in a rural area and need something with good reception. Also, it needs to be USB rechargeable. I have a USB solar panel and the radio needs to be USB rechargeable so it can be charged with the panel. What radio would you recommend? Nearest radio station is around 50 miles in a straight line.
Assuming that we’re talking about AMThere’s a lot of depends on the station 50 miles away from you. Station wattage can be high or low(50,000w US limit). Wattage can be variable for station budget.Topography between you and the station, etc.
@@raymondward4796 Thank you for the reply. I am looking for FM and AM. I have a katio KA500 and the reception is flaky. Terran is rolling hills. I also have a Sony ICF-S10MK2 which seems to get good reception for its size.

It is decent. I enjoy it on FM using headphones for Stereo listening. The Bass/Treble controls are nice. AM Reception is good, but not great. Mainly use it for locals.
