@@JayChenTaiwan Haha yeah! We both grew up in rural Pennsylvania towns and we studied Chinese at university together. I was just in Tainan last summer continuing my language studies post-graduation.
When I came to Taiwan I was a little angry that Chinese food was 'wrong'. I wanted sweet n sour chicken. Shrimp crackers and barbecue spare ribs. I thought stir fry was ok. Now after many years I prefer Taiwan stir over western Chinese food. Of course there are still things I don't eat like intestines and chicken claws. But, in general Taiwan food is amazing.
Taiwanese food is good but not all are healthy. Hot pot is very popular in Taiwan, most Taiwanese love hot pot bit it's not really healthy when people eat it very often.
Some Food Vendors do handles food very unhygienic and unsanitary.. receiving money and preparing food simultaneously without considering MONEY is very dirty. Sometimes they just rub their finger in a small towel after receiving MONEY and again preparing food with dirty hands.
In many restaurants or shops, they don't offer receipts, it's because that's a way of avoiding taxes. When avoiding taxes, it also leads to us hard to track safety of the foods and those employees they use in those industry, I wonder whether they are protected with labor rights. Overall, behind our food industry, mainly u see exploitation and unsafe. Nothing to be proud of.
Love your interview. Great work and thank you!
Glad you like it 😎
I lived in Taichung for years. Top 3 for me is Lu Ro Fan, MapoTofu , Xiao long bao
I’m citizen of Taichung.
Omg I went to college with the first person you interviewed! Small world!
Haha😆 you mean the girl from Jim Thorpe ?

I don't like chicken claws too 😆 What is your favorite food in Taiwan my friend ?
@@JayChenTaiwan Stir fry. Kung pao chicken...beer....fried rice...you know the 100nt places.
Ya I love that 100nt places with 🍺 😎
Ask for a fortune cookie
❤
My wife is from Taiwan. Even she doesn't eat anything to do with intestines. She even go as far as not even eating sausages, LOL

Think when you interview you could face the camera, and also have your guest face camera as well. It will make the video a lot better.
Thanks for your advise
Besides of gourmet, Taiwan is also famous for high tech like semiconductor chips.
Yes, you are definitely right 💪
Besides*

As a Taiwanese, the soup stinky tofu also way too much for me....
I don't even know there's w thing like stinky tofu with soup😂 who came up with this idea 😂
Americanese?europenese?japanese?taiwanese?chinese?
🤔

And it's wierd people don't talk about these much
Maybe?
Jay Chen, help me! I can help you, haha. I'm Taiwanese born in US & have a new channel.
She said "stanky" tofu. 😁
How do you say カツ丼(ka tsu don) in english?
Katsudon.😂

Mandarin
😆
Taiwanese food is delicious in general but it’s full of starch…
