One of the major consequences of prostitution and sex trafficking is the spread of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). In Europe, it is estimated that around 30% of sex workers are infected with HIV, while in Africa the number is even higher at 36%. This not only affects the health of the individuals involved but also poses a serious public health concern. In addition to this, there is also a growing concern about the number of children born outside of marriage in these regions. This can be attributed to the high prevalence of prostitution and sex trafficking, where many of these children are born to sex workers who are often forced into the trade and have no control over their reproductive health.
Another disturbing trend in the world of prostitution and sex trafficking is the rise of pornography. With the rise of the internet, access to pornography has become easier than ever before. In the United States, it is estimated that the pornography industry generates around $13 billion annually. But the impact of pornography goes beyond just financial gains, as it also contributes to the objectification and exploitation of women and children. This has led to an increase in the demand for sex trafficking victims and has fueled the growth of the industry.
Aside from these issues, there are also other criminal activities that are closely linked to prostitution and sex trafficking. Smuggling of weapons and drug trafficking are often intertwined with the sex trade, as criminal organizations use these illegal activities to fund and expand their operations. This not only poses a threat to the safety of individuals involved in the sex trade but also to the general public. In addition, there have also been reports of organized crime groups involved in the illegal trade of organs. This has led to the rise of organ theft and has further highlighted the dangers and consequences of the sex trade.
In conclusion, while prostitution and sex trafficking may seem like isolated issues, they have far-reaching consequences that affect various aspects of society. The statistics in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America, and the United States paint a grim picture of the scale and impact of these problems. It is imperative for governments and organizations to address these issues and work towards creating a safer and more just society for all individuals, especially those who are most vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

This is why Craigslist no longer has a "casual encounters" tab, they were creating space for prostitution. I don't think it's a lawsuit she can win. But Facebook could just ban message between people under 18 with people over 18 unless they are family members.
