What 90% or more of these Waffle Iron "Chefs" fail to mention, is that you need to ALWAYS make sure that you use a non-stick cooking spray. Otherwise, nothing will just "slide out" on it's own and you'll be left with one nasty mess to try and clean up!
I make stuffing waffles for the day after Christmas topped with leftover turkey mashed potatoes and cranberries with gravy poured over top...my guys love it. Also I make curry waffles and serve with butter chicken mmmm so good.

I just tried d second receipe with mashed potatoes n sliced cheese on top… it turned out d cheesed melted n d whole wafer maker became v messy with the doughy stuck on it… pls advise what went wrong? I did oiled the wafer maker… yet it turned out disaster..

I got a cute lil waffle maker at a yard sale, cleaned it up and it cooked sooooo great. It cooks 3 waffle at a time but with 4 little pockets in each.

Non stick cooking spray ruins non stick. Use a silicone brush and whatever oil you like or ghee.

The few times I cooked potatoes in my waffle iron, they came out so dry and chewy.
Maybe don't cook the potatoes all the way through and use plenty of butter or bacon grease!! That should help!!
