I prefer a lighter rub the more rub the longer it takes to cook than I lightly use barbecue sauce right before I flip it over I add a little Jack Daniel to my sauce mix and a little liquid smoke

Yes takes awhile but does nice job, pretty good for grilled vegetables aswell.
Cooked mine in the oven..we see the results once I try this XL.Grill..
