I'm 50 years old. I've never seen a show with the writing and character development of this show. I recommend this show to as many people as i can. The first half of season 1 is mostly world building. By episode 7, the story takes over and it gets better with every episode. And it holds as true as possible to actual physics.

This show is amazing. It has the hard conversions in a way that doesn't tell you which side is right or wrong. It just shows you the different sides and let's you decide.
The show tells the story of humanity and pulls from history for inspiration. It is truelly a passion project for all involved in the production.
It is hands down the best TV show I've seen.

The Expanse is my favorite show of all time, hands down. I cannot even tell you how many times I have seen it and I NEVER get tired of it because it is so good and I don't say that about any show. The show is intelligent, the actors are stellar and the dialogue is the highest bar there is. It deserves even more love that it has and we, Expanse fans, are hoping to have the last three books adapted to TV. (a movie could never encapsulate the issues involved in this show, too dense and too involved and too intelligent). Go ahead and watch the show, binge it if you dare (you lose some of the density with binging). Then come back and tell us what you really think. The authors of the books and the show runner/writers try to use physics to tell the story and deal with all the problems you might run into in the Belt for example, living in low G. Zurik is a marvel at the videos with excellent sound track but the show... well his videos are great because of the source material. Go for it! We look forward to welcoming you as a newly minted Screaming Firehawk!

@@Jackomack Yeah I mean I feel that way too, but it is easier to sound less hyperbolic by saying the last decade. I leave the "best scifi ever" talk for the person I am talking to make up their own opinion on the matter.

Yeah, there's a whole show like that. It's pretty awesome.
You're absolutely right. We're not going to be able to go to space and not take our problems with us--or not develop entirely new problems. The Expanse portrays this very well.

Absolutely incredible show. Don't be put off by the fact that it started on SyFy. Some of the newer actors take a little while to find their stride but the characterisation and story-telling more than make up for it. It is smart and profound while never getting obviously preachy. There is virtually no fat, no filler. Everything will mean something, even if it doesn't pay off until a number of seasons later. That does mean that you can't half watch it - don't be drunk or distracted or you will miss so much. That does mean though that it stands repeated viewings, with a second pass bringing out even more. It is filled with intrigue, mystery and a non-stop stream of questions - which do get answered, but always replaced with yet more questions. Many a delicious cliffhanger and rug-pull, but none of it is improbable or un-earned. While it clearly has a highly devoted fan-base, it is somewhat of a crime that it is not wider known.

Amazing show. Also one of the best to rewatch with reactors. The writers of the books were intimately involved in the show (including writing for it) and every deciation were things they did to make it better, either in general or to fit an adaptation. A very rare instance where fans of the books have almost no complaints. Honestly, if I'd paid for another month, an Expanse video was on my shortlist to ask for... and still is, when I probably come back in a few months to catch up on OTH and OTB reactions 😅
The show is realistic in just about every way... not only in the characters and that no side is entirely good or bad/right or wrong, but also in that it is widely regarded as the most scientifically accurate scifi. They use actual science; there are no warp drives, simulators or energy shields. It also has some of the very best written female characters and characters in general. You love *everyone* and even single episode characters show up and leave lasting impressions.
There's so much world building it often takes the first 4 episodes for people to get really into it. But once you hit 4 it's nonstop action and suspence until the very end.

All I can say is that Zurich did an amazing job here! Literally captured each emotional moment perfectly!
I've never had a show actually effect my life in such way as this has.... I can't thank everyone who was involved making it enough!

This is an extremely spoiler packed video.
Nobody who hasn't seen the show yet should ever watch this.

I hear ya, but without the context, most of the "spoilers" you are concerned about, won't actually spoil anything. Like "you're NOT that guy"!

What we will discover when we get into space is that the universe is hostile and the only way for humans to survive there will be to cooperate. We may not cooperate on Earth, however, if we do not cooperate then we will simply die there.

Shows like this ALWAYS freak me out a bit, because they're SO CLOSE to becoming our reality, it ain't even funny. 😒

Unfortunately, evolutionary psychology has discovered that humans NEED to form teams to compete with one another in order to create and develop the tools necessary for our evolution as cultures and as a species.
