Wow! You have a LOT to unpack here. Thank you for your generosity in this video. I am just getting back into this after a 40 year hiatus and you have truly inspired me.
Wow! Why can't there be a like, super-like and a ultra-mega-spectacular-like button for this video? I'd definitely hit all three. Thank you so very much!
That’s very 😎!! But I can see why I avoid stuff like this, but you have given some great insight. I need to do the homework! Thanks for this..🥳. See ya’! 👨🏻
Nice work, and good advice on this piece,Do you have some advice for bass on this , (other than arpeggiating the chords in real time,)maybe you know a good hack to not get "behind" on this ,I tried the whole tone scale adding chromatic notes ,it kinda works but jw if you can suggest something else to mix with it or otherwise? Ty
This is amazing, very helpful. Would I need to practice these same three scales, C, E, and Ab major scales, for playing on a Bb Trumpet, or do I need to transpose them, and if so, which ones? Thanks
The key centers are moving differently in "Giant Steps" than in "Have you met Mr Jones". The first half of Giant Steps descends through the augmented and the back half ascends. The first 4 bars of the bridge of HYMMJ descends and then deviates from the pattern

The transposed keys for Bb instruments are Db, A, and F.
@@Sirvalorsax Thank you
Let's Go!
Hey Sirvalorsax
Can you say if high f# on alto is an altissimo note?
Hard for me to play it!
That ligature is upside-down, yes?!
Yes, according to the website. I've tried both configurations and this works well. I can't use the cap with it in this configuration though
Giant steps is nothing more than the bridge section to Have You Met Miss Jones
