I thought that the shot at 0:33 was absolutely amazing and it made me wonder how it was accomplished, and seeing the BTS and the actual gear that was used to make that short shot that most people would even notice how epic it was made me respect The Verge's dedication to video quality even more.Keep up the good work Verge. You're seriously one of the best youtube channels out there that produces really good looking videos
My God. You guys are video artists. I was in awe watching the camera work knowing I could never do something close to this. That little video at the end explained that confusing shot, but there was one other shot that I really loved for some reason. The one where the camera followed the YogaBook opening was beautiful. Well done, Verge.
Videos like this is the reason why I stayed subscribed to The Verge. I don't always agree with their opinions and I think some of the videos they publish are average at best. But, with this I'm impressed and would love to see more videos shot and edited with the same quality.
This video is the video that made me buy the Yoga Book and now i happily use it as my daily driver for college. The way you covered the advantages and disadvantages was so clear and didnt beat around the bush like other reviewers, also the way that this video was presented was absolutely stunning! you did a great job! The camera angles, music and presenter really showed off the futuristic design of this thing and i throughly recommend they buy one if theyre thinking about it.
This is how a professional Review have to look like its honest about every aspect of a device and at the same time its fun to watch and wont make us bored with a lot of words. Tnx The Verge
I'm still using mine in early 2020, and I've had it since launch. She never mentions the screen or speakers, which are outstanding for it's size. For a Windows device it's hard to beat the portability. Love this thing.
Hey I love the way you made this video, great cinematography, I love the shot where you show the title with the view upside down. It kind of shows how different the product and your channel is! Keep up the good work!
while i'm still skeptic about the product being review, i'm sold on the cinematography and polish you did on this video. I love it. I look forward to more wicked filmed tech reviews in the future! Cheers!
Got mine last thursday and I love it. I got the windows -version as I needed a lightweight secondary computer(laptop in this case) for school. It's powerful enough in my opinion, but I wouldn't get it as my primary PC/Laptop. There also seems to be an issue with the sleep mode from where it's really difficult to get the Yoga Book back on sometimes. Also if you're not comfortable typing on a touch screen, then this might not be for you. Anyways, I love my Yoga Book and I wouldn't trade it for anything that costs under 1000€ in my country right now. If you need a secondary laptop/pc for something like school or work for notetaking or sketching and you don't mind typing on touch screen, then I'd really recommend this.
Lenovo (and Moto) should win innovations of 2016. Despite Apple and Samsung selling more units they managed to get modular phones right. Then they properly reinvented the hybrid laptop. Great job. I can't wait to get the moto z play!
Hey Guys , Just saying you have a Great TH-cam Channel with Great Content especially your cinematography is Just Amazing , the cinematoghraphy is like what you would see in a commercial
Hey! Great video, loved the way you show all the time how you work with it. Also great cinematography, specially the title shot upside down, is like showing how "different" this product feels.
7 years later this is still some of the most beautiful hardware ever made. It truly held up. The only complaint is the massive borders. Make the top screen border less and it would make for a perfect design. Also, the software is very sketchy after most windows updates
David Davids since it's designed to be used as a tablet as well you need some bezel for your hands to hold onto otherwise you're just constantly touching the screen. Beyond that other factors like cost, display/touch drivers, and fitting the form factor of a keyboard plays into it. If you want slim to no bezel there are laptops on the market with it but they lack the ability to convert into a tablet. If you don't need tablet functionality then this product isn't for you in the first place.
Another STUNNING video by The Verge! I wonder why Lauren prefer this tablet with Android over Windows? I mean productivity wise, Windows is far more superior than Android.
this isn't about productivity. you don't see people running goddamn adobe after effects or anything on it. with an intel atom, theres little you can do with windows that isnt too heavy on the processor. android, on the other hand, is a lot lighter, making it easier to use
i bought the lenovo yoga book about 2 weeks ago (android version) and i think its perfect!! typing is really easy if you are used to type on a phone, and i don't really use the multi window function because i rather focus on one thing (exept if i need to write an essay, but google chrome and word both have a multi windowed version. most games work exellent on this device, minecraft low/medium works just fine and even modern combat 5 works really well. the function i use te most is the wacom like digitiser and for me its amazing!!
I would be interested in a Versus episode with the Android and Chrome OS version of this, if/when they release the Chrome one. Also, did it seem weird that they used micro SD rather than USB-C? Or did it just lend to the tablety feel?
It should have the new Chrome OS. I think that would be the best fit with the multi window features etc. Not sure how well the Chrome OS works with Android Apps though.
Lenovo yoga book with Fusion 360. Download Fusion 360 to yoga book window 10, it doesn't work well with yoga book but you can adjust the setting to for best performing, connect your bluetooth keyboard to yoga book. Design and create your project using pen and bluetooth keyboard.
The feature of transferring the drawings/writings on the screen only works with the particular pen-tips that Lenovo sells? I like the idea of immediately transferring anything I am writing on a digital file, but I would go through pen-tips like 2-3 a month...I write a lot...would this make it unsustainable?
Features and performance as expected but disappointing to hear about the battery life. If it's no good on Android then my preferred choice of Windows won't be any better.
Andrew Melder don't worry too much about what this reviewer said. Most benchmarks are saying windows version gets much better battery life. The averages are 6 hours for android and 8 hours for windows version with video play back.
First off, this video is beautifully shot and edited. bravo. Now to the product itself, genuine question. Would the Atom that's inside this be more or less powerful than the top range and spec'd Snapdragon like the 820/821? If the Atom is faster, I'd say it's not a bad choice, especially if you're sticking with Android. A more low voltage option for an Intel on the windows end would be welcome, but I get the choice for Atom. You're going to make sacrifices for something like this. Want the form factor? Sorry battery life. Want the power? Sorry form factor. Want more of any combo of those things? You'll have to pull exponentially from another piece of the machine. As far as I'm concerned, if the Atom exceeds a Snapdragon 820/821, this is more than adequate as a flagship Android tablet. If your goal though is to replace a Surface Pro with this, I think you're just inherently looking at it to be a product it genuinely is not. And that's OK, it looks like a wonderful, and beautiful, Android tablet.
January 2021 and I'm still using mine on the daily, media consumption mostly. It's been reliable since day one. Pretty much only use it in laptop form. It's honestly the prettiest piece of tech I've owned to date, and I could wax poetic for far too long about it. I would have upgraded to the second gen C930 if it'd had 8GB if R AM., 4GB was already feeling too slow, and can be downright painful in 2020 (my new ultrabook has12GB and feels eons more capable). It's odd, do a search, they almost haven't depreciated at all in four yrs time.
This is OMG good. One of the best videos I have ever seen from the verge (also my fav tech publication). And Lauren is a absolute charm, not to mention that awesome lenovo.
no usb at all :/ that's kind of ridiculous. I get that it's kind of in the mobile device territory, so they used micro-usb, but I think a regular usb would've been a cheap thing to throw in that would automatically make it way more practical
Phil Thomas yes, agree. If they include an usbc with thunderbolt3 and charging, that would be amazing. I guess it is probably some kind of engineering compromises. :3 sad. But still a great replacement for ipad in term of functionality and price.
wow! what a video! I was wondering how you made that super like apple ad shot, absolutely amazing. Love the video, actually an interesting product review
One of the most beautiful videos I've ever seen. Wow.
Canoopsy > This is pretty good. Check Ash's channel for probably the best youtube review Vedios
Canoopsy I agree. it's stunning
Canoopsy yeah IMO +Ash Taylor did better.
Yes, I know Ash Tailor very well. His videos are outstanding.
Seriously the best video the verge has ever produced
Jeez... the cinematography in this review!
That upside down panning shot that turns around is amazing!
I can watch the entire video for how well it was shot and edited.
Then Markass Brownlee happened
There's something about this video I love
Shevon Salmon Lauren
Shevon Salmon rhymes with bass
The cinematography was a step up from other Vox videos, which is saying quite a lot.
Shevon Salmon your profile pic is the same concept of MKBHD's
take a good look at the 1:50 minutes of this video!
Video quality level - "heavenly"
The device is futuristic but the video production is jaw dropping, i was more amazed by the video production than the device itself. Great work 👌🏾
Hello Freddy :)
Have you bought, and using this Yoga book?
Damn i loved the production quality of this review.
Thanks for throwing in that bit at the end, I was wondering how you guys got that shot ha
My God. You guys are video artists. I was in awe watching the camera work knowing I could never do something close to this. That little video at the end explained that confusing shot, but there was one other shot that I really loved for some reason. The one where the camera followed the YogaBook opening was beautiful. Well done, Verge.
This video is INSANE! Love the production work on this and of course, Lauren is awesome!
This video though.
Oh hey, Tom Warren
The production quality of these videos just keep getting better. Love the tumble roll.
Great video Tom!
my man Tom, you better make a review of the Windows version of it. She didn't cover everything in this review... to say the least.
so artsy.... with sexy tech opening.
Whoever was in charge of the editing deserves a raise. This is what every review video would look like in an ideal world. Keep it up.
Videos like this is the reason why I stayed subscribed to The Verge. I don't always agree with their opinions and I think some of the videos they publish are average at best. But, with this I'm impressed and would love to see more videos shot and edited with the same quality.
0:33 that shot is bonkers, to use a Nilay-ism
The Cinematography game is strong with The Verge! The content was great as well
that camera backflip just stole the show. I didn't even notice it while watching the video
This video is the video that made me buy the Yoga Book and now i happily use it as my daily driver for college. The way you covered the advantages and disadvantages was so clear and didnt beat around the bush like other reviewers, also the way that this video was presented was absolutely stunning! you did a great job! what watch is that?
great video guys, the quality...on point
That's the Pebble 2!
The Verge Review coming soon?
The Verge yay team pebble!
Well Pebbles gone now lol
Video production in this video is super crispy, you guys killed it!
This is how a professional Review have to look like
its honest about every aspect of a device and at the same time its fun to watch and wont make us bored with a lot of words.
Tnx The Verge
The editing was fuckin beautiful! Especially the pan shot with the title on the laptop. Great work!
I'm still using mine in early 2020, and I've had it since launch. She never mentions the screen or speakers, which are outstanding for it's size. For a Windows device it's hard to beat the portability. Love this thing.
I unconsciously just tossed my credit card at the screen!
That 0:33 shot is SICK!! Absolutely well done
I was WONDERING HOW you got that shot and then you put it in the end. Amazing. Thumbs up. Great footage.
My word the Cinematography of this review was outstanding. Good Job Verge
Last 30seconds were the best bit of the video. Thanks for sticking that in.
Very well produced video. Not is it only The Verge's best, but one the best videos I've seen this year.
Props. 👍
Wow, the quality of this video is just amazing! I also love that flipping panning camera motion (with the behind-the-scenes footage at the end 😂)
So glad you showed the making of that rotating shot. Floored me
The cinematography in this video is beautiful! Keep up the great work :)
Hey I love the way you made this video, great cinematography, I love the shot where you show the title with the view upside down. It kind of shows how different the product and your channel is! Keep up the good work!
I just ordered this today, and I always get back to this video to make sure I don't regret. XD Amazing video, Verge!
the video quality is superb - colours just pop👌
You don't know how happy I am that y'all included how you got that awesome shot at the end!
Absolutely mind-boggling review. The shots in this are just incredible. Keep it up!
while i'm still skeptic about the product being review, i'm sold on the cinematography and polish you did on this video. I love it.
I look forward to more wicked filmed tech reviews in the future! Cheers!
Forget about the computer, the production quality of this video is insane! Well done guys!
This video was gorgeous with that overhead shot. Props to Lenovo as well for actually making something fresh, new and innovative
I love that behind the scenes shot with the rotating camera. I really wanted to see how you pulled that off.
This looks like a video from the future.
Wow! Great cinematography you got there. Its true lenovo yoga book looks sleek and your video made it look even cooler. Great job with the review😊
I like reading the verge, but i f****** LOVE looking at their videos! The production quality of the videos are insanely good.

This is the best transition video.. so smooth... even smoother than my future. Dat cinematography is jaw dropping! Keep it up!
I was wondering on how they made the flipping shot at the keyboard until the end credits. Kudos for the quality production.
Wow! Awesome shots! Best product/review shoot I've ever seen
beautiful cinematography, the verge is backk
The camerawork in this video. WOW. Great job guys.
This is actually video porn. Well done Max Jeffrey, absolutely incredible!
that overhead shot was insaaaaaane.
great review, gave me some good idea of what that new yoga book actually is
All the praise that goes to the productivity of how well this video was made is amazing
That continuos shot was so well done.
2:22 So, what's the battery life you get?
Hey! Great video, loved the way you show all the time how you work with it. Also great cinematography, specially the title shot upside down, is like showing how "different" this product feels.

Notebook aside, that video edit was just incredible. Way to go!
I really dont know what was better, the showcase of the yoga book, or the PHENOMENAL VIDEOGRAPHY IN THIS REVIEW.
WHY DOES EVERY SCREEN HAVE A HUGE BEZEL ?! IT'S SO UNATTRACTIVE NO MATTER THE DEVICE.
David Davids since it's designed to be used as a tablet as well you need some bezel for your hands to hold onto otherwise you're just constantly touching the screen. dell xps 13 ;-)
David Davids ikr
this guy obviously don't use tablets, just ignore him
David Davids.... I like big bezels... In tablet mode you can hold the sides... With out accidentally interacting with the screen
Ross Green but android can't run full... Anything
JourneyWithJaron lol thats funny. Chromebooks are next to useless
i bought the lenovo yoga book about 2 weeks ago (android version) and i think its perfect!!
typing is really easy if you are used to type on a phone, and i don't really use the multi window function because i rather focus on one thing (exept if i need to write an essay, but google chrome and word both have a multi windowed version.

Excellent review and the editing and filming were top notch! Wow
I would be interested in a Versus episode with the Android and Chrome OS version of this, if/when they release the Chrome one. Also, did it seem weird that they used micro SD rather than USB-C? Or did it just lend to the tablety feel?
Awesome video as always. Love the new space your shooting in as well.
It should have the new Chrome OS. I think that would be the best fit with the multi window features etc. Not sure how well the Chrome OS works with Android Apps though.
www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2016/9/6/12816402/lenovo-yoga-book-chrome-os-windows-android
The video quality and angles are top notch. Amazing review guys
Such a wonderful editing and excellent shooting angles.
I really can't see this being very productive as android, but the windows version looks awesome!
The video is dripping with goodness! It's technically better than the SF walk-around video from sometime back.
Awesome editing in this video!
Also I can definitely see myself getting this... In a few generations.
Amazing quality on this video guys! Lauren is awesome as always.
That one shot which is shown how it's made at the end.. Beautiful
I really liked how they showed how they did that laptop shot at the end
beautiful shot video. Huge fan if the new Yoga Book. I can't wait to see version two when it can replace my main laptop.
The quality of the production on this film was great. The attractive reviewer didn't hurt either.
Then again, Lenovo in Australia are charging a ridiculous $200 more for the Windows version compared to Android so I wouldn't have bought one anyway.
Andrew Melder Yeah i was looking for something like this for college hearing this honest review changed my mind
Andrew Melder don't worry too much about what this reviewer said. Most benchmarks are saying windows version gets much better battery life. The averages are 6 hours for android and 8 hours for windows version with video play back.
Andrew Melder I have this device on windows 10 pro and with medium to heavy use it get 10-11hrs a day.
hats off for the cinematographer. you earned my respect bro! :)
First off, this video is beautifully shot and edited. bravo.

You can always see if she likes or dislikes the product she is introducing from her face and the way she is talking. She is so adorable.
It feels like I was watching an official video from Lenovo! This video is too good!
January 2021 and I'm still using mine on the daily, media consumption mostly. It's been reliable since day one. Pretty much only use it in laptop form. It's honestly the prettiest piece of tech I've owned to date, and I could wax poetic for far too long about it. I THOUGHT OF THIS IDEA 9 YEARS AGO!!! I knew i should have written down
This is OMG good. One of the best videos I have ever seen from the verge (also my fav tech publication). And Lauren is a absolute charm, not to mention that awesome lenovo.
How does charging the tablet work? You need to plug in the usb part, but is there a cable that both ways are usb?
I like Lauren, she should do more of the reviews in this channel.
wow, very high quality video, nice one! also thumbs up for Lauren's new hair colour
No usb c? Excuse me?
hu yuanze, micro-usb, like a tablet/phone
no usb at all :/ that's kind of ridiculous.
:3 sad. But still a great replacement for ipad in term of functionality and price.
hu yuanze Atom doesn’t support TB3
I like and this the camera work is award worthy
Saw one of these at Best Buy yesterday and the keyboard is absolutely lovely to type on
It's a concept device. Don't see this taking off, in my opinion.
Agreed. I really want to love it, but there's nothing about it that makes me want to get rid of my Bamboo Spark and iPad Mini combo.
Who said anything about Apple?
Eric Xu Except you were the one to bring it up.
Eric Xu The person you replied to didn't mention anything about Apple. You can appreciate the product without making baseless assumptions.
Eric Xu Someone's trying too hard to be clever...
Could this be connecter to a projector? what cable should I use? thanks
wow! what a video! I was wondering how you made that super like apple ad shot, absolutely amazing. Love the video, actually an interesting product review
Truly you have done something incredible. This video assured me that I will continue TH-cam. Thank you. Amazing video!
What about the screen quality? does it get bright for outdoor use? sound quality? construction? some review...
