Thank you Stephen and Dana for this video! Very helpful! I have a few products I've been working on and have since decided to drop back to my original, so I'm not scattered all over the place. looking for a local outfit to help me with getting a sell sheet established. I have seen your inventright episode about putting a good sell sheet together but feel I need to stop trying to do everything myself and think networking with a local design company will gain me more traction than just me myself.
Thanks again for all the helpful information! I'll be glad to actually start applying it in learning the steps it takes to get to my first licensing agreement, and subsequent projects will flow that much more efficient.

This video is awesome, really like how you and Dana shed light on the obstacles of the licensing process. Definitely better to expect and prepare for difficulties than expect a smooth ride. Quick question: you talk frequently about reaching out to companies and using sell sheets, showing them the product, etc. Should we be doing these things under CDA between our company and the company we are talking to? Got a provisional patent and have been learning from InventRight for a while and I'm looking to start reaching out to companies but my patent specialist advises me not to show it openly as then these companies can start formulating workarounds. Any ideas?

@@ryder6952 I’m afraid that’s a long discussion. This is typical from the legal profession, but it’s not how it’s done.
I’m not a patent attorney. I’m not giving legal advice.

It’s always best to sell the benefit without disclosing any intellectual property. If they want more information, then you ask for an NDA please note they won’t sign yours. Most NDA‘s won’t have the type of language that prevents workarounds and that’s just the reality, find companies that want to work with you is the best protection.
