  • SI3D has been specifically designed for people with amblyopia and/or strabismus.
SI3D's OcuView lens is designed for these exercises and general Vision Therapy. OcuView is much more effective at promoting 3D vision than full oclussion. If you do not have OcuView, use your hand or patch to cover your dominant eye.
Sit directly in front of the laptop or PC monitor (bigger screen is best for training).
Ensure you sit comfortably. Sit about an arms length away with your head central to the screen or monitor. Do NOT move your head unless instructed to do so - EYES ONLY.
If you suffer with amblyopia in both eyes do exercises for left and right eye equally.
DO NOT STARE FOR PROLONGED PERIODS AS THIS WILL STRAIN YOUR EYES! Blink often, blink often, blink often! Blinking does 3 important things:- 1/ It lubricates the eyes 2/ it minimizes strain and 3/ forces your eyes to refocus on the target.
You must exercise between 30-60 minutes daily (15-30 morning/ 15-30 evening). It is best to train as soon as you can after waking, and just before you go to bed. If you train more, ensure you rest your eyes every 30 minutes for at least 15 minutes.
Exercising daily must become habit. Your eyes and brain will only 'learn' if they are continually stimulated with exercise. You will get out what you put in.
You must be under the guidance and supervision of a registered VT (Vision Therapist) before carrying out any training or oclussion.
I am not a professional. I am simply someone who suffers with Amblyopia and Strabismus, and I developed these tools and exercises to help people like me.

Update: I received a comment (since deleted by the user) stating they could not read the instructions/disclaimer despite having a large screen, and that the text was blurred.
Videos will auto default to a lower resolution depending on your device and internet speed. All videos should play in full HD if your device and connection allows.
I have now added the instructions and disclaimer to the video description.

    Good day
I am greatful for founding your channel.
Thank you for your dedication and effort that you have put in.
I would just like to share my background and I also understand that you are not a qualified VT.
But your reply would be appreciated
I was born prematurely and was not able to breath and needed help from a machine to give oxygen for months - the doctors then said it was because of this that my right eye was effected. It had all kinds of turns - I then later got muscle Surgery and I am thank full that it looks a lot better although it's not 100% aligned - my question is in your opinion will this exercises still work after muscle surgery? I have about 10-20% vision in my right eye. The early doctors that I have seen said that I can't see anything from my eye - however - I am able to follow your videos on the Phone. One recent doctor said that my right eye did not fully develop and a other doctor said that I have a fold in my retina.
So I asked them if exercise would help at least just with alignment - and he told me no I can just as well stand on my head nothing will help. They also don't want to give surgery as he is saying he is okay with the current alignment - but still I know it's not the way I want it.
I will however keep training despite it all. As I feel that I have nothing to lose.
    Thank for your time
    Regards

Hi Adriaan. thank you so much for your kind words.
In response to your question - the simple answer is yes. I know your condition(s) may be different in comparison, but look up 'Professor Susan Barry (AKA Stereo Sue) - Fixing My Gaze) as she corrected her quint and lack of depth perception at the age of 50 using VT, after numerous surgeries in her early years.
Can I ask.... Have you been assessed by a qualified Vision Therapist? The reason I ask is because I visited numerous 'professionals' over 3 decades - one in particular was a very reputable Eye hospital /University in England), and each told me the same thing - nothing could be done. But then I found a VT 2 hours drive from me, and the prognosis was completely different from those I had previosly visited. I am not in any way attempting to discredit those professionals that you have seen, but as with all doctors, the diagnosis and prognosis can be completely different depending on who we see.
Also, could you attempt to desrcibe what you can see with glasses or lenses (if you're prescribed them) and with your dominant eye closed or covered?

      I can empathize completely, Adriaan.

how long does one need to exercise the eye muscles for results to show and how long each day should a session last? what are the measurements of success? Thank you

Hi Robert, It is impossible to say due to the vast differences between individuals I.e age, condition(s), prescription, duration etc.
Most people should notice a disturbance in vision each time they carry out any form of Vision Therapy, But depending on prescription, should see a more prominent image begin to form in the visual cortex after a few weeks.
You should exercise for between 15-30mins everyday morning and 15-30mins every evening. Start off slowly so as to avoid/minimise headaches or eye strain and gradually increase over time.
Ensure you rest your eyes for roughly the same time as you exercise- 15mins exercise to 15mins rest.
A measure of success is quantified by assessing vision before and after.
Before I began exercising I could not/did not use my strabismic/amblyopic eye. After a few weeks I began to notice a duplicate image become visible - this was the start of my visual cortex beginning to make connections from my lazy eye. Over time, this duplicate image began to become clearer and more akin to the vision my dominant eye had seen for as long as I could remember. I was then able to determine where my lazy eye was pointing and make adjustments to its alignment.
I am by no means 'cured' at this present moment, but due to regular exercising, I now have more vision, and can control my squint. Prior to exercise, I had no vision in my left eye to know if my eye was aligned correctly or not.
I hope this helps. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to ask and I will do my best to answer.

@@seein3d456 thanks for your reply. CFYI is am a 78 YO male I have been told most of my adult life that amblyopia cant be corrected after the age of 9 or 10. I hope using this program can help me prove the nay sayers wrong :)

I was told the same - numerous times.
If you haven't already, take a look on YT for Professor Susan Barry : Fixing My Gaze. She can also be found using the search term Stereo Sue.
She cured her strabismus and developed her 3D vision at the age of 50, so there is no reason it shouldn't work for you. You would have to work very hard to try and reverse 78yrs of amblyopic vision.
I wish you all the best on your journey.
